Here Today... Gone To Hell!

As most people probably know, Eddie Trunk was in Vegas this weekend, and attended the first show.

He did meet with Slash before the shows, and also talked with Axl after the first show.

On Thursday there will be a podcast dedicated to GN'R. Some interesting tweets from Trunk in the past two days:

To me this guy just want attention...he needs spotlight on him.

No doubt, but if we get an interview I don't really care about that.

Eddie is alright but most of his "cliffhangers' like 'you're not going to believe what we talked about" end up being circulated as rumors before he eventually let's it out.  He'll come out and say that Adler really was hurt, etc when we already knew from various reliable sources that the rumor is true.
Hopefully he breaks that streak and tells us something we already don't know.

Saw him in the venue before the show with Myles Kennedy, Jim florentine, and a few others.

He seems cool, but he does come off like he needs attention.

He's a cool fan though I guess. I would like to know what they talked about, but it was probably just about doing an Axl/Slash/Duff interview in the future. Of course you want to think Axl slipped to him they are going to be recording new music soon... but I doubt that.

I know it's probably just a coincidence/bad timing but I thought axl had a kind of "oh god, please get me away from this idiot" expression in this picture. I always imagine him trying to get away but not being able to because he's in the wheelchair. Like eddie just keeps grabbing his wheelchair and not letting him leave, and axl doesn't want to hurt his feelings so he just kind of plays along.

How often does he say things like "been friends with.....for a long time"? He's definately jumping on the GNR bandwagon, during GNR downtime he stated on TMS that GNR weren't one of his favorite bands because of Axl's voice...

I can't remember him ever saying that.

Axl obviously at least half way likes him otherwise I don't think he would be sitting there with him.

Trunk did once say GNR is not one of his favorite bands ever ... but I don;t see that as a knock against Eddie...different strokes for different folks.

I don't get the Trunk hate. Considering he is a journalist and host of a show, yeah, of course he needs attention. Attention is what measures how good at his job he is.

I do get that some people are a little annoyed by his self-promotion, but I also like the guy.

He's been in the business for a long time and is very dedicated to spread the word of rock music, he brings us quite a lot of good interviews I think.

He loved AFD, but thought the UYI's were too bloated. I believe he said he preferred Velvet Revolver to post AFD Guns, but I never heard him say he didn't like Axl's voice.

So,  Thursday we will hear some GNR news from Trunk

Going by what he's said I don't expect any big revelations. But he will probably talk around a few subjects without saying too much. Seems like some of the stuff he's learned was off the record.

Could be enough for us though, to hear hints of some things happening.

Don't expect him to break big news. He will probably talk about how the reunion happened, about Adler and Izzy and possibly about the Troubador gig. Hope he'll talk about new songs, tho.

Caught Eddies podcast this morning on my commute to work.

He gave the show a great review... really spoke glowingly of the whole band. That he got to visit with all of the band backstage and just had a lot of fun with all the fans before the show.

He didn't say much other than Axl told him he wants to do another interview with him real soon, he said he still expects Izzy and Steven to pop in and he knows why Pittman got peaced but isn't allowed to say why. Hahaha.

He gave his usual , I know so much that I can't say yet shtick too in regards to future plans... lets all hope that's about new music.

About Pitman, I don't know why they are not talking about it. In fact, I don't know why they are being so tight lipped now. Not saying they should go to the press and spit everything, but maybe a post in GunsNRoses.com talking about some of the stuff? Are they waiting something?

He did talk about one particular announcement that would come.

He couldn't say what it was because at the time he recorded the podcast it wasn't officially announced yet. It was something that came from the conversation he had with Axl, and it had to do with GN'R as far as I understood it because he talked about GN'R being active in social media and such.

It seemed like he had the impression it was something that would be announced quite soon, just because he said "by the time you hear this, it may have been announced".

Yeah the Gn'R website has never really been a good place. They could release things on that site that would provide a lot of info, and wouldn't make the band appear in press in person ya know.

Instead they do nothing. It would be interesting to know about Pitman and the Melissa girl.

I think it's real good news to hear Axl expressing interest in doing interviews now.

Absolutely. I'm really looking forward to another Axl interview with Trunk  ;D

agree....awesome that Axl has expressed interest in doing an interview. hopefully its just one of many.

I still think Duff should write a piece for Rolling Stone or any other magazine, if they don't want to speak to any journalist. I get that some questions would be really hard to answer at this point, meaning both past and future.
Or maybe they're not doing it for any contractual, legal implications?
I'm happy that he said Axl and Slash were talking when he arrived and that Slash said (and he noticed) that the whole vibe is pretty good.
