- They will switch This I Love with TWAT (I think they have rehearsed 5-7 CD songs which they will alternate on ? playing 3 each concert, Better and CD might be staples). - They will play Don't Cry - They might switch Coma with another UYI song, not sure if they will play this one at every concert (hope so though :)) - They might play another song as the opener. - Maybe Axl will do a solo song on piano from the past tours (Dust In The Wind or It's Alright) The setlist tonight could give us an indication on how they're planning to do the tour. If they completely change it up tonight, that could be a good sign that's their plan for the whole tour. Not knocking Slash & Duff's drunkenness back then; they've said they kept drinking waiting for Axl to be ready, and Axl has since said it took alot for him to be ready to hit the stage. I got into thanks to a classmate. He would bring the SCOM single and play SCOM over and over again during recess. I literally shed tears during "Estranged" and I wasn't the only one. It's almost fitting that Axl is in the Grohl seat bc it's like they have come back to reclaim their throne after all these years. He sounds great to me, but I don't know much about drums. Did take up singing and piano for a few years though, and am a big fan of music.
I think however he's playing the songs, it's the way Axl and the band wants him to. He's been playing these songs for years, in my opinion if there was something wacky about his drumming Axl would have made him fix it or hire someone else years ago. I also suspect that it is nostalgia and a longing to relive that nostalgia through Adler, and Frank's hypothetical hampering of the frution of that nostalgia that may cause some to underrate his playing. Thinking back, Axl said the drums were the one thing he wished he could change about Appetite, if I remember correctly. So maybe he is making that change now through Frank on the live versions. As for the songs being fast, I think that was a conscious decision made by the band. I could of course be wrong about all of this though, as I am just speculating. I don't know drums well, but a guy playing every song way too fast 3 nights in a row on accident sounds like a rookie mistake, or at least a mistake made by someone that is a little rusty. These are some of the most high profile gigs in the world, not to mention historical and very impactful on the future of the band, and you can in all likelihood safely bet that these professionals did their homework.

Take that high praised Indiana '91 show for example. I get what some people don't like about Frank's drummimg. I love his style but he plays the slower songs faster than my liking. This is the case with November Rain since 2006, Estranged since 2011 and now he plays Don't Cry full on the whole song; same thing. He KILLS Coma btw!! However, I gotta say I'm thankful for this forum/YouTube and all the fans periscopes so I along with many others can see what we're missing. I'm sincerely hoping that this reunion/reconciliation of sorts continues. Although the 2000 - 2014 formations of GN'R were great as well, we as fans finally got to see what we never thought possible with Slash and Duff back in tow. The band is absolutely on fire, and I haven't seen Axl this happy since 1993...hell maybe not even then. I truly wish them the best on this tour. I hope more dates are announced after the Summer, and eventually (wishful thinking) that there's a chance that we could get to hear some new music as well in the future. For now though, I'm enjoying the ride!!

He's been a little "in the shadows" kinda guy with Finck, BBF, Bucket and Ashba taking the front stage, but now that there are "only" two guitarists in the band, his talent and contribution to this band are undeniable.

Slash is playing what Slash wants to play, you can prefer the Robin version but please let's not pretend for more than 1 second that Robin is 1/10th the guitar player that Slash is. I figured an hour wait at least based upon previous experience with the CD lineups and the 4/8 show, but they went on literally 10 minutes past 11-do not be late for these shows! I think that may be a thing of the past. On being in the audience: People you never met are welling up (dudes and chicks) and high-fiving you and patting you on the back, all while everyone around you sings at top volume along to the hits. It was cathartic, like primal scream therapy or something. It was a good mix of super-fans, old school fans, and young / new fans. During the deep cuts like Coma, Double Talkin' Jive, and CD songs, the non-super fans were bopping along and cheered just as loudly at the end as they did during the hits. It was as though they were experiencing new material and wanted to be deep into the GN'R club . I mean, you can tell that people don't know the words to Coma but go nuts at the end anyway. ;). On the stage show: They ripped from song to song. This is not story-boarded out. Things like Slash letting his guitar breathe with feedback between songs ratchet up the intensity of every song intro. When Bach came on stage, it was as if a fan had gotten ahold of the mic. He was so much fun and the crowd was all smiles and "fuck yeah"! Anything Axl said was awesome. Even things like "Thank you" got a roar from the crowd. Greatest show of my life. I've watched one or two videos from it, but in all honesty, I'm not that interested.
