Here Today... Gone To Hell!

So I drive into Philly for work somedays from DE and today I saw three electronic billboards with the words 'Patience', 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Paradise City' followed by FnGnR... I will assume this is the marketing for the stadium tour to follow (which makes me happy that they will be around Philly, I assuming) Anyone else seeing these out there?

Cool, The Stones did this for their 50th aniversary tour

That is definitely exciting news ... plus it looks like the website is being redone again ... hopefully this leads to something big ! :beer:

Just glad to see someone (promoters, band, whoever) are getting the buzz out there for those who are not in lock step with the band. More people the better concert experience IMHO.

Drove to Phoenix over Easter weekend and saw an electronic billboard that showed a GN'R logo. It cycled to the next advertisement before I could photograph it. Really cool and surreal feeling seeing that on the freeway.

Awesome to see them promoting this so heavily with all the billboards.

Saw the #GNFNR bus in Time Square today. Had a van full of rock roadies with me at the time. We all thought it was awesome.

How much of a hand do the band and management have in the promotion, like the billboards we've seen lately?

Is it detailed instructions from you (or the promoter), or is the service done with complete freedom for the design-company?

I am sure the members have to all sign off on anything like this.

I meant more in how the design should look and what type of promo (posters, billboards, videos etc.).

Just an example: Did Slash sketch out how the posters should look, then a design company would work from that? Or did they just tell the company about a general idea, then left the design choices completely up to the designer? Did they instruct that the ad should feature on buses, or is that something the promoter and/or the design company figured out themselves?

I see, i'd like to know that too. They definitely seem to be going for the UYI era style look with the designs.

Nice to see these bus billboards in NYC. I wonder if there are any in New Jersey.  ::)

That NYC bus is next level!

Just saw one in St. Louis this morning. Will get a pic on my way home. 

It definitely appears that they are giving themselves the best chance possible to sell these shows out.

Very encouraging.

News of the tour cities was picked up just about everywhere.  But you can't just rely on that.  You do need some boots on the ground in each city.

Management, whoever they are doing all this, is really stepping up.

The Classic rock station here in NY has brought up the tour after every GNR AND ACDC song the past few days.

Lots of folks I know have told me hey man I want to see GNR this summer at Giants Stadium.. people I barley talk to anymore lol.

It's big news. Amazing what the top hat can do.

Yep, yep.

I myself have fielded more GNR questions in the past 5 months than in the past 5 years.  And that's even if you tripled the questions I got for the past 5 years.

the chatter in the Atl is huge. Of course, they allege to have broken the AC/DC story wide open so they are playing it all up....kinda cool.

God knows our boy better bring it.  :P

The last time they started with the teaser promos (Christmas at the cinemas), they started running the ads 10 days before the announcement.
