Yes, Glastonbury has also been rumored.

I think a full European stadium tour would be less likely than doing some major European festivals (Rock Am Ring in Germany; Leeds, Reading/Glastonbury/ Download in the UK; Download France; maybe Roskilde in Denmark?  Just as examples) in the summer, and then a European arena tour the following year.  In South America they would surely be able to do a stadium tour.

AC/DC did more stadiums hsows in Europe last summer than in the USA.
Iron Maiden do stadium tours... None of them have hits on the radio or play dance music.  :hihi:

According to this website a promoter denied the rumors about GnR playing Hockenheim in 2016.
Wizard Promotions' boss Hoppe, who co-organized the last Germany gig in M?nchengladbach in 2012, claims that he would have heard about it otherwise.

If Wizard Promotions is indeed still in charge of making GnR gigs happen in Germany is unknown. If they are not responsible for GnR gigs, why should they be informed. ;)
But on the other hand the company is responsible for concerts taking place at the Hockenheimring.

The rumored date (July 2016) would fit in the calendar since Hockenheimring is hosting the F1 Grand Prix in July (29th-31st) and no other event is listed on their website for that month.

I think we will get information as soon as there is something to reveal.

Who was the source in the original post? Was it said it was from the promoter.

If not, I'm thinking this might be a case of the promoter now going out and down-playing this because contracts aren't final yet.

Admins from the German GnR forum have source, and theyve been right about everything that theyve announced in the past, like rock am ring 06 or the show in 12.
So inwouldnt worry about the promoter declining this. Itll happen

@Princess Leia: I don't think that they would really use a weekend where another big show (F1) is in town.
Something as huge as a GnR reunion show needs to be on their own, it can draw enough attention.

Yeah but Axl loves F1. He attended a race in 2006 and they perfomed a couple of years ago in Malasia during the F1 weekend. I?m saying I wouldn?t be suprised if they have a show that same weekend

The site mentions Rock Am Ring and Hockenheim in July, which is weird because Rock Am Ring is now held in a somekind of air base field, in the city of Mendig Germany in early June.
 The F1 Race is in Hockenheim, Germany July 31 and im quite positive that Hockenheim race circuit has never organised concerts.

You're right that Rock Am Ring isn't at Hockenheimring. Until moved to the airbase it was held at N?rburgring.

However there have been concerts held at Hockenheimring, the last one was AC/DC in 2015.

They would have no problem filling stadiums abroad.

It looks like a ticket broker to me. Selling tickets before there's even a show.

Regarding the rumor itself, Billboard claims there's supposed to be a summer tour in the USA. These two rumors don't exactly contradict each other, but it's a bit puzzling.

If we use AC/DC as a template. They kicked off last year's tour in Coachella in April, then stadium dates:

May 5 ? July 25: Europe
Aug 22 ? Sep 28: North America


Going with the rumor that is out there, it seems like GNR's North American leg (25 dates) will be longer than the European one, so the other way around compared to AC/DC.

Well they clarify that the date hasn?t been announced yet. Brokers or not most likely they are the source to the admnis. of German fans website. Besides at some point Nightrain is gonna reopen so before I buy anything. I will check the official site first in case there is a presale.

The website tickets75.de has a bad reputation when it comes to ticket prices. I remember years ago (I think it was a Klitschko box event) when people were sold 55 Euro tickets for slightly above 170 Euro and the boss of the company tried to justify it. They even had a hint somewhere on their website that they might be selling tickets for higher prices because of administration fees or stuff like that.

I am waiting for an official announcement and then I will buy tickets. With an estimated capacity of 100,000 I am pretty sure to get a ticket or two ;)

Their European tour was more than 25 shows, so it's comparable to a 25 date tour. Time wise. But then they had time off during the tour so it can be condensed....
Their North American leg had way less shows.

Also, if you do tours on both sides of the Atlantic, there needs to be a few weeks of time between each leg. As you see above.

I fully agree with you Jarmo.

There need to be a time gap between those legs. If you take a look on the UYI tour they always had gaps when different parts of the world were played. Only in late 1993 the gap between the last european dates and Argentina was pretty small.

Back to the possible german date:
I think that the possible July 15 date could be a good option since the UEFA European Championship ends on July 10 and other huge events are not taking place during the vacation period. Maybe a smart move to do that one show in Europe.

Its seemed like a logistical longshot, if the other rumors about the 25 city U.S. tour was to be believed.

I would say nothing went wrong... If there is a summer US Stadium tour, then all of these festivals in Europe for the summer are long shots. A one off or two during several days in a row off are one thing, but the rumor mill had them headlining almost every major Euro festival.

That wasnt going to be a festival though.

All the more reason why it wouldn't happen... they aren't going to be shipping stage setups back and forth across the Atlantic.
