Title: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: CherryGarcia on December 06, 2015, 09:09:02 AM Let's imagine for a moment that this enhanced relationship between Axl and Slash leads to easier release of DVDs/Blu-Rays of live concerts (from all eras of the band). What concerts would you pick per era?
Myself: AFD Era: Live at the Ritz, 1988 (1988 VMAs and Late Show Performances as bonus footage) UYI Era: Rock in Rio II, January 1991 (debut of Matt + Dizzy) Live at the Ritz, 1991 (one of the only shows shot on film) Indiana 1991 L.A. Forum 1991 (3+ hour show) Paris, June 1992 Argentina, July 1993 CD Era: Rock in Rio III, January 2001 House of Blues, December 2001 (if footage exists) MSG 2002 (both because I was there and many consider it the live peak of that tour) Rock Am Ring 2006 (Axl's voice in amazing shape) Osaka 12/16/2009 (boss show, second longest show in GN'R's entire history) Vegas 2014 (maybe a compilation video of different days of the residency) Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: EmilyGNR on December 06, 2015, 09:22:50 AM Would love to see the rumored "Perfect Crime" UYI tour footage because I was actually at a lot of those shows live and in person.
Not really up for copy-pasting or inventing some sort of fantasy list which seems to be the point in creating these "topics". Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: OscarAxl22 on December 06, 2015, 04:20:09 PM Anything from the UYI tour would be great.
If Slash & Duff are back in... then anything from the future shows "if they happen" would be a must. :D Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on December 06, 2015, 05:32:55 PM So youd basically want all things released on dvd that are already available as pro shots? Exciting....

Of course, this is only a dream since MTV deleted this footage from their archives. So bootlegs are all we've got today.
I'd like to see all that behind the scenes footage from the Use Your Illusion tour released as well. Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: ice cream sand pig on December 06, 2015, 09:10:25 PM anything would be great, but id also like to see a sort of "best of" performance compilation from the new era. include all their best performances of each song. it wouldnt have that feeling that youre at a real concert like afd does, but with some editing magic they might be able to get some kind of continuous feeling out of it rather than a bits and pieces thing. and then of course a cd to go with it.

Post by: axlvai on December 07, 2015, 02:44:41 AM First of all, GNR is so poor on official gigs releases from his gold era... only Tokyo 92. So i think its time to reverse that, for the History of Rock and GNR.
Second... i will like to know what concerts have the best source or the best recording cameras. I love Miami 1991, with that "flyin camera" for example. Love Tokyo 92... a upgrade will be great. Or Coma nite. The world deserve GNR... to kick some motherfuckin asses. In summary... if GNR want to release something i hope they choose the best thing available... or close to that. With no cuts please!!! Like the complete real live experience. Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: Princess Leia on December 07, 2015, 02:51:04 AM Melbourne 88

Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray? Post by: kaasupoltin on December 07, 2015, 06:35:29 AM Oh there are so many. Of course it would be cool to see something we haven't seen/heard on a bootleg. But of those I have heard on bootlegs, I'd take any show from the European dates 1992 and 1993. Some of my favourites from this era:
05.26.92 - Olympic Stadium, Berlin, Germany 06.27.92 - Stadio Delle Alpi, Turin, Italy 06.19.93 - M?ngersdorfer Stadion, Cologne, Germany Or maybe something from the GN'R/Metallica -tour, these I really like: 07.18.92 - Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ 10.06.92 - Kingdome, Seattle, WA And then the obvious ones: 08.03.91 - Great Western Forum, Inglewood, CA 08.13/14.91 - J??halli, Helsinki, Finland 12.13.91 - Madison Square Garden, New York, NY But really, I'd take any show from any given date. The coolest thing would still be (in my opinion) some kind of a documentary of the whole UYI tour. Title: Re: What concerts would you want released on DVD/Blu-Ray?
