Not sure how to do an actual voting poll but thought this would be fun.  I am curious as to what people think right now.

Question:  Will a reunion happen?  (not should it happen, or do you want it to happen, or what constitutes a reunion, but just simply do you think it will happen?)

Acceptable answers are:  yes, no, I?ll tell you when Axl tells me.

Let me put it this way I won't believe it until i see it in person. I'd be so terrified for weeks leading up to the gig I have tickets for, that it doesn't happen for one of a million reasons.

I want it to happen. really freakin bad. my head will explode if it does.

I hoped for a reunion for 10 years and then I finally made peace with the idea that it would never happen. and that's been my assumption for the last 7-8 years or so. with nothing official and speculation only, it's tough for me to go back to believing it's possible. It's just really hard for me to envision a reunion based on all of Axl's comments over the years, as well as the issues they all had with each other (some of which were fairly major issues).

But the alternative is...what?  Axl doesn't have an album, a plan, or even a band right now.

All of your points are valid.  But in a incredible turn of events, a reunion tour is actually the more plausible scenario than Axl suddenly getting his shit together with some next album or next line-up.

In my opinion, the reunion is 100% happening. When there is smoke; there is fire! I can't wait!!!!

If it happens, its the best news in over 20 years.

Now, before panties get bunched, that is not the same as saying nothing good has happened in 20 plus years.

I doubt it will happen for reasons I have already articulated on this site.
Issue number 1 is control and how to decide who will have it. Whoever doesn't have it won't be happy.
Issue number 2 is that Slash has a great thing going with HIS band and I doubt he will give it up.

Its not like he has to disband them and kick them out of his life.

Sting finally relented a did a Police reunion tour.  When it was over, he went back to being a solo artist.

Why are we voting on something we have no idea about. The last thing Axl said that we know was 100% about a reunion was negative. Id be fine with seeing it. I love axls voice regardless of who's playing the same beat.

I think one of the true under the radar benefits of a potential reunion tour is that I think it increases the chances Axl gets back in good shape and good voice.

Past few tours had a real going through the motions vibe to me.  I have to think that since a reunion is going to draw a shit ton more eyeballs on him, we can expect a more dedicated Axl Rose.

I hope, anyway.  We'll see.

A more legit version of Guns N' Roses, let's say.

Think of it like drugs.  Past however many years, we've been getting by with really diluted, stepped on shit.  This would be a product of higher purity.

Look, if you (or anyone) is one of those guys that is just going to stomp their feet unless its the 5 guys from AFD, well, I don't know what to tell you if that's not what it winds up being.  We can't control that.

I'm about improving our situation.  If your ideal is the 5 guys from AFD, I would think the opposite end of the spectrum would be another incarnation of Axl and a bunch of dudes, right?

But the perfect is not the enemy of the good.  Even if you can't get 100% AFD personnel, 60% (or 80% if Izzy is onboard) is damn sure better than the 20% version we've been making due with, no?

You forgot that the other end of the spectrum is what we've had this year.

You're overthinking what I said.  I just meant that Guns N Roses means about 20 different things to different people in terms of a reunion.  A large number of people think bringing Buckethead and Finck back would be an optimum reunion.... yet the question of this thread lumps all those different answers into the word "reunion".

And believe me, I'd count on my childhood hero Ultimate Warrior returning to life before we'll ever see the Appetite lineup back onstage together.

Well, what the hell else are we supposed to vote about?  It?s about fans giving their opinion on something that?s relevant?kind of the point about a fan forum, no?  Otherwise, what do you do, only discuss things that have happened?  Ok, do you think Guns n Roses will do another Vegas residency in 2014?  My answer:  Yes.

I think Chinese Democracy's release is more important than a short-term reunion that produces no new music. Which is not to say that a reunion wouldn't be important or fun.

I'd say a reunion is relevant only in the imaginations of the "yes" crowd on this thread...

Come on now.  "A large number" feel Bucket and Robin is the optimum reunion?

If Axl was going to try and actually finish what he started with this relaunch, OK, I could see that. 

But forgetting the fact that the raw number of people that would be all about Axl & Slash patching it up would DWARF a Bucket/Robin reconciliation...people weren't even all that sold on Buckethead.  There are people that still hate him.

Reunions suck.

But Guns n Roses is unlike any other band.  Therefore, a Guns n Roses reunion would be unlike any other reunion.  ;D

I still hold out hope that, even if a reunion happens, we will one day hear the vault.  The man said it himself he didn't create it all not to play it (or something like that).  Maybe to coincide with the 30th anniversary of AFD?  A ginger can dream...

I wonder how Jarmo is going to backtrack on 10+ years of criticising fans who supported the original band if this actually happens! 

I could see Axl, Slash, Duff, 4tus, Frank, Chris, Dizzy.

Not sure why Izzy wouldn't want to be part of it atleast for some shows... maybe not the whole tour then 4tus can fill in. And don't know why between Adler and sorum they wold need Frank. And why Chris???

I don't think this is unrealistic.

Fortus, Ferrer, Pitman and Reed haven't indicated that they're leaving, so if a reunion of sorts is happening, I can see them being a part of it.

Plus: Axl, Slash and Duff are arguably the most important ingredients in a reunion anyways. Yes, to the die hard Izzy is up there with Axl, but I'm not so sure about the casual fan.

So did you guys think a reunion was happening when bucket or Robin left? I recall there were rumors on 2007, although Robin wasn't out until 2008.

No.  Because he still clearly hated Slash as far as any of us knew. 

Hell, when Bucket left, we all still assumed he hated them all.  Wasn't exactly full of valentines in onstage speeches at RIRIII or on that 2002 tour.

By the time Robin left, we had enough basis to actually think an album was coming out.  And sticking someone else in his slot was more plausible than some reunion.

Fast forward to today.  He has mass defections of his most recent line-up.  No tangible progress on this alleged next album.

And enough circumstantial signs to legitmately ask the reunion question for the first time, probably ever. 

How do you know he doesn't have a plan? Many members have confirmed there is songs and albums ready... How does two members gone make it no band?!?!?!?!?!?!

If there was a gig tomorrow, next week, next month...who shows up?

You can tell me "they" are on a break (whoever the hell "they" is right about now) but whenever this break is over, who is ready to take a stage again?

I never said they could be able to play right now, although they possible could assuming they had two new guitar players, but just like a reunion. We can't assume that, it hasn't been confirmed. But that doesn't mean there isn't a current band called guns n roses...

According to dizzy and Richard, pretty damn well and is aiming for 2016. Although, their break has only been going on for a year, and the fact they said next year will be a big year, I'm sure their plan is going well.

Here is the reason I believe Chris will (or would?) get to stay on.

Eddie Trunk said he heard a rumor that "some members that have been in the band more recently might be involved to fill out the sound".

Even if nothing from Chinese was played, November Rain will 100% be played at every show. And someone needs to play the string pads while axl plays the piano and Dizzy plays the woodwind leads. It's not going to be Teddy Zig Zag.

Richard did a interview recently and when asked about a new guitar player he said he isn't allowed to answer that and laughed. There could possibly be someone. I dont know Tommy though. Gnr doesn't have a problem, a problem is having to replace almost every member in the band. That's not exactly the case.

When it comes to Tommy... In the past year I was far more certain that Ron was out than I think Tommy is now.

Tommy's statements has in no way been definate one way or the other. Of the remaining line-up he's the most uncertain, I can agree with that.

that's the more plausible scenario, I don't see a full reunion coming, my question is still is Slash rejoining the band or not.
since DJ is gone...well I suppose Slash & Axl talked about it and have an answer...time will tell.

if not, it can't be called a "reunion" with only Duff back in the band (and even with Slash back, I will call it an evolution
more than a reunion, but I suppose it will be enough for medias to call it that way, and that's good for business)

Mmmmh to average/only old school fans will call duff/slash/Axl/dizzy plus Richard, Frank, and Chris a reunion. Slash Duff And Axl are what does it. Regardless of who is in or not, it's not gnr without Axl, and it's not gnr without izzy. My opinion. I think this happening and if is, it's going to be epic. I love the 2001 band but I will stay positive. It will rock either way!

Axl said back in 93 when Izzy rejoined for 5 shows that you never can tell what fate has in store for you.
Then he was badmouthing Izzy on stage.Then 13 years later Izzy was a guest on almost every 2006 show and they even wrote a few songs together (Down by the ocean,confirmed)
This whole story seems familiar to the Slash one.Just saying.

Izzy just did 5 shows because Gilby Clarke suffered a serious accident after Gilby Clarke returned and the band finished the tour , sometime after that band broke up in their last show in Argentina in July 1993

The (almost) same animosity there was with Izzy (when he left for a 2nd time) and healed some 20 years later,reminds the whole thing with Slash.
Maybe the bad blood is over between the two ,but lets see about any reunion or whatnot.

Ok,maybe i got the title wrong.What i meant was that Axl's relationship with Izzy healed overtime and we saw him as a guest friend in 2006.
Maybe,who knows, the relationship with Slash is healed too.

If all parties involved are 100% on board and want this to happen then more power to them. Life goes on. People and attitudes change. Let them do what makes them happy.

I guess it depends what is meant by reunion. If it means a series of shows then it is possible. If it means that the original members or some subset therefore reconstitute to form GNR 3.0 (or whatever the number) then I think the chances are very low, close to negligible.

I guess the reunion lineup would be gnr 6.0

I hope yes..... with DJ and BBF.

GnR has and always will be a an ever changing entity. And that is a good thing. We have been provided some great lineups over the years with the greatest frontman of all time leading the way.

Indeed, and Axl has always said he enjoys performing with the newer lineups much more than the old.  Yet another quote that disavows a reunion.
