Title: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on May 19, 2015, 10:27:33 AM Hi there. How's it going?
Guns N' Roses played over 200 shows all over the world between the release of Chinese Democracy and now. I see people post flashback threads about the album's songs. So I figured we could take a look at the tour itself. Did you attend any shows? Any highlights? Any particular things that you remember when thinking back to the show or tour (maybe you encountered bad weather, maybe you met somebody in the band etc. etc.)? Marathon show, incredible setlist, and Axl sounds good. Depends how you judge a show. It was long, great to hear all those songs. But the band got better the more they played together. Brooklyn Bowl That was a cool little place! Too bad about the truck stop revenge.... :nervous: /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: D-GenerationX on May 19, 2015, 10:54:38 AM I think that 12.19.2009 show is the best show this line-up has done. Not because I don't care about the band or how they perform, but to me they're such a solid unit that I never worry about them fucking up. A fuck up during a solo happens, but a concert as a whole is always solid. The vocalist is always the most vulnerable when it comes to having a bad day. It's most noticeable and it'll happen more often ? on a general basis, not just GNR. Axl has had his good and not-so-good periods during the tour. With any incarnation of the new band, really. I think the shitting on DJ is totally overdone. At least as it pertains to his playing. And all the other guitarists have always been solid. But if Axl sounds bad, its hard to overcome. And he has had legs within the same year where he sounded good on one, but not on the other. That's the one the guys at MYGNR put up on Youtube. Good show worth checking out. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: AdZ on May 19, 2015, 11:16:15 AM So many great memories from this tour, shows that stand out that I was actually at definitely include the last night of the European 2010 leg in Barcelona - a hot venue, good beer and the band was really, really tight. I think you can definitely see the sound grow even more cohesive as a tour goes on and they sounded like a juggernaut that night.
Getting drowned at Rock in Rio was also.. memorable. Monton in 2010 was an interesting show, the arena ceiling wasn't high enough so the stage had to be modified, great small crowd. And who can forget Hellfest! It seemed like the crowd went back forever. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: Spirit on May 19, 2015, 11:23:03 AM And who can forget Hellfest! See AdZ's post above for examples. :) But yeah, I get that Youtube is popular and all... But maybe there's more memories than "I saw the show on Youtube and Axl sounded great"... :) /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: D-GenerationX on May 19, 2015, 11:28:05 AM That 12.07.2010 concert from Adelaide is also pretty solid. Yeah, as it turns out, I wasn't *in Australia*. ::) So, is this just supposed to be a dick measuring contest where the most ticket stubs wins, then? I was not aware. OK, well, in that case...I went on 11.26.2011. Axl came out at a little after 11PM and they played for 3 hours. I had a good time. And I guess that concludes my presentation. Going only by that, I feel it's still a ride I've participated in. Don't underestimate the thrill of a good update thread! ;) The concerts I was at - killer shows! The only small gripe I had after seeing back to back shows like that was that the setlist was pretty much identical. Not a big deal really, as there were two different atmospheres and the experience became pretty different. Aren't we sensitive? It's unfortunate that I can't even start a thread about something simple as this without you getting all worked up over it. No, not at all. Nowhere did I claim it was a contest about how many shows you went to. Just curious to hear about fellow fans experiences during the tour and trying to have a fun lighthearted discussion about those experiences. Everybody seems to remember and experience different things at the shows. So that's what you remember from the one show you attended? Were you tired the next day? Did you like that venue? How was your seat? Did you get any merch? How was the beer? Did you see any drunks? Favorite part of the show? Did you catch the opening act? When looking back at the tour as a whole, I can only support my views based on youtube clips and the DVD as I only saw 2 shows – the first two in Europe, Bergen and Oslo. It's not "only two shows". A bunch of fans would love to see one! :) Oslo was cool. Same venue as in 2006. I went to that one (2010) and didn't even get a hotel room. Spent the night waiting for my early morning bus at the train station.... :hihi: By the way, the solo Dizzy played there is a song by Warren Zevon. Unfortunately I can't place the other one you asked about..... Haha. /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: Spirit on May 19, 2015, 01:00:53 PM It's not "only two shows". A bunch of fans would love to see one! :) It wasn't meant to sound trivializing, I'm super happy to have had the opportunity. It was just put in the context of the amount of shows in the complete tour and I feel that following the shows on the internet is also part of the experience. It's a good second option to me. : ok: By the way, the solo Dizzy played there is a song by Warren Zevon. Unfortunately I can't place the other one you asked about..... Haha. Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, one of the better solos by Dizzy. He played it in Bergen as well. :) I remember Dj playing a small snippet of Hall of the Mountain King in Oslo, the audience loved that. Wish I did catch the opening act, actually. I hung out in the lobby talking to people. It was The Pretty Reckless, who I wound up seeing open for Manson 6 months later. And I thought they were solid and she was great. Best part of the show was 'Estranged'. As for the venue, it would be my ideal place to see this particular band. Big, wide open lobby to hang out in and get some drinks while Axl does god knows what backstage. Sure beats sitting is a seat and looking at your watch. Then, when the lights go out, you can pop right out of the lobby and into your seat. If they ever do come back this way, I hope its Camden and not actual Philly, for that reason. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on May 19, 2015, 02:00:18 PM I believe that was one of the few "sheds" on that tour.
I do prefer arenas though... The tour started in Florida and I recall there being a thunderstorm. Then a few weeks later freezing temperatures on the East Coast. /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on May 19, 2015, 04:26:08 PM Monton in 2010 was an interesting show, the arena ceiling wasn't high enough so the stage had to be modified, great small crowd. Talking of chilly places.... /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: EmilyGNR on May 19, 2015, 05:12:23 PM My favorite Gigs I have gone to were the 02 shows in London in 2010, and Several of the shows in NYC from different years both large and small.
I enjoyed the convienience of both Vegas residencies, because you can attend multiple shows without relocating. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: JAEBALL on May 19, 2015, 05:21:00 PM My favorite show was during the first residency. I was there on my birthday and there was a lot of space right next to the stage under those bridges Axl would sing on. So it wasn't too uncomfortable or claustrophobic for me.
I'm also a Vegas junkie , so seeing Axl perform there so close to the stage on my birthday is just about a dream scenario. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on May 19, 2015, 05:47:34 PM Yeah. Seeing GN'R on your birthday is pretty cool.....

It's funny how different places have different vibes. Even the same cities but different week days.... And seasons of course. You gotta love the guys who tailgate in November for example! But it's the only time they get to see GN'R that year, so why the hell not! : ok: /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: Spirit on May 19, 2015, 06:19:18 PM For the people who attended 2 or more festivals during this tour, were the crowds much different in terms of support for GN'R?

But it's the only time they get to see GN'R that year, so why the hell not! : ok: /jarmo First show of many for me on that list was Nov 17, 2011 at Izod. Hung out with sexkitten, and yes tailgated!! Chatted with a ton of people many from the forum. Went in and got to the rail left of center, before the opener, and pretty much was planted there for 8 hrs.Between bands I made a mission to get us beers, which meant I had to go all the way in back of the floor, out the doors, to the beer stand. I made it back beers in hand to rail, I might of pissed of about 20 people, but fuck em, I was already up there!! HA Great show , first ones I think since the Hammerstein shows for me. I could hardly walk after. But after the show we went backstage,(thanks for the passes Jarmo, :D). Mingled with other fans, Frank and Dizzy and Ron stopped in, chatted , signed things, took pics. There was two big coolers one with an assortment of beers, the other with vodka and mixers. We realized we missed the last buses, and trains back to NYC. So stuck in bum fuck east Rutherford!!! But Coti came to the rescue, he was hanging out backstage and gave us a ride back into midtown, where sexkitten and I took our respective subways home. I crawled into my apartment a little after 6am, GOOD TIMES!! MANY MORE STORIES AND SHOWS YET TO GIVE ACCOUNTS!! Yeah, it was quite chilly my last GNR show 11/19/11 in Hartford. We tailgated though. A few beers warms you up just fine. Plus I'm accustomed to cold weather tailgating for Patriots games. But it's the only time they get to see GN'R that year, so why the hell not! : ok: /jarmo I bought 10 tickets for the show and found enough takers, so we had quite the crew for that show. It was awesome. We initially bought seats, but decided to try standing room instead. I ended up about 10' from the stage or so. Closest I've ever been at any concert, so that was a huge bonus. They went on late, around midnight, and they played their asses off until the wee hours of the morning. It was a Saturday, so the crowd wasn't up in arms. Axl sounded great that night and they played a lengthy set. The only negative was they weren't playing "Civil War" yet at that time. Other than that though, we got them all. Well, no TWAT either. Also, as great as standing room was, my legs were feeling it by the end of the night and the next day. But it was well worth it! Can't wait to do it again sometime. Here's "Estranged" from that night. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VKB9GmxgraM Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: TheBaconman on May 19, 2015, 10:10:30 PM That Canadian tour in 2010 was epic. That was one cold and chilly night, even on September.Whole lotta rosie was imo the highlight. I can't say i enjoyed the Basel show in 2012,i had to leave during Nov.Rain to catch the last bus to the airport. I was amazed though by the amount of merchandise in that venue. Not half of what was there made it to Bulgaria. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: rebelhipi on May 20, 2015, 06:23:24 PM I saw one show in Helsinki.
one day before the show, a almost 15 year old myself decided to hit the town with my chinese booklet and a marker, just in case if see someone interesting on my way to the market near the harbour. Well a saw a bunch of gnr fans waiting for gnr people in front of the classiest hotel in town. i desided to join them, much to my surprise and joy, i saw Malcolm Angus and Phil Rudd from AC/DC. Also i saw and briefly met, Ashba and Dizzy. :D All in a couple hours. I remember seeing Del James too. Then the next day it was graduation day for that year in school. I left in the middle of my main teachers farewell speech to catch Bumblefoots meet and greet. That made me feel badass as hell. ;D I wish i had own a camera back then... I arrived to the gig just before the second to last opening act finished. And the i got a place right in the middle second row, lucky me. Skunk Anansie was next which played a very good set. Well all i can say it was awesome. Still my favourite gig ive been to. I saw the show in Sydney on December 4, at the V8's with a mate who is a massive Cure fan and was never in to GNR (but loves live music) went and enjoyed the show enormously. I wouldn't say he was a complete convert after this but he'll tell anyone how good they were live that night. Went to the Brisbane show in March 2013, with my brother. Both masssive fans and had a great night! Thanks Axl, et al for the shows. Hope to see you guys again (at a show...) soon. I was also fortunate enough to go to Terminal 5 and Roseland Ballroom on the UCAP tour. Went by myself to those. Those were fun too. Interesting enough the same kids who opened for Axl at terminal 5 also opened for Slash when I saw him there a couple of weeks ago. They must be a go to group for that venue. They were really good, the name slips my mind at the moment. Interesting enough the same kids who opened for Axl at terminal 5 also opened for Slash when I saw him there a couple of weeks ago. They must be a go to group for that venue. They were really good, the name slips my mind at the moment. Unlocking the Truth, I believe they are , I also was at Roseland GNR and Terminal 5 for Slash. Before the UCAP tour, I had gone to see the Compulsions, after that show, a friend of mine gave Richard a ride back to his hotel and me back to Broklyn, during that car ride he said it was confirmed for the UCAP tour , this was about 3 weeks before they happened and before it was officially announced, so I had a heads up. I bought tix for all three shows, Roseland Terminal 5 and The Ritz,. Roseland was insane, completely oversold, it was packed!! Was such a great time, was great to hear UTLH, and Your Crazy, there, plenty of Chinese. I had a great spot on the fl and completely was wrecked after, I have terrible ankles and feet, I could hardly walk after, when the terminal 5 show came up I begrudgingly decided I was not going to do that show cause it would be like death for me to try to even get to the RItz, I needed to be off my feet. So I sold my tix to friend and forum member, met him at a bar near the venue, had a few beers, and walked to the venue, then home. Good thing cause I was def ready for the RItz, a special show, brought me back to when I saw them back in the day at the famous MTV recorded show. Before the show, I met up with a bunch of friends, and fellow forum members, Sexkitten included! ANd we pre-partied at the bar across the street, we waited till almost midnight before even entering, as we were waiting outside Axl pulled up in his SUV and jumped out and went into the back stage door. He took some pics, we went in, and still found a great spot on the floor. IT was fucking electric the atmosphere. Not more than 10 mins that Axl came out of the SUV, he was onstage and killing it. The band was on a whole different level . Another rocking out show that let me wrecked but in such a good way. I practically crawled to the subway after, to go home. I would next go to see them in Vegas for 2 shows that year, Nov 9th And tenth, my first time at the Joint, And the entire experience was insane, I absolutely love seeing GNR there, the sound in that place is incredible, the whole casino decked out in GNR stuff, and memorabilia. Hanging out at the circle bar, meeting GNR fans from all over, with the common goal of enjoying a great band in a great venue was just a fantastic time. Next up Brooklyn Bowl 2013, this was a complete surprise for me, I had no idea I was even gonna be able to go, but 2 great friends of mine, offered me a tix, to go with them and of course I jumped at it. Talk about intimate venue , insane, we found a place right up on the stage on the left side. The stage not being that high , and so small was incredible as the guys worked it from one side to the other, aside from Axls "truckstop revenge", which I found quite funny, he sounded awesome, I always like Your Crazy opening a show. By the end during PC, at one point DJ was literally sitting on my shoulder while he was doing the outro soloing. It was insane. I have to say that this show was the shortest I remember going to out of close to 30 shows since 87. But it surely didn't lack any excitement or energy. Finally I got to go back to Vegas, I as already in California, for a month on vacation, my cousin and I drove out to Vegas, to see the show May 21st 2014, there I made plans to meet up with some forum guys I have always chatted with but never to to meet at any show yet, while there waiting for my friends I saw jarmo said hello, he was hella crazy busy haha, so not much time to talk. I met up with the guys I was meeting at the Hard Rock, immediately bonded, had some drinks, and then the mission was to get them tix, as they didn't have any yet. Even though they both wound up going to every show of that residency.ha ,lol So we hunted turned down some prospects, then one of them saw Ferando. Don't know what was said, but then we went to the backstage door, and hung out there. While waiting , Tommy and a GF I suppose came up we said hello had a lil chat, they went inside. Then a short while later, a women, with a cloths rack came up with Axl jackets on it and went in. Then a short while after that Del James came out, and saw my friend, the one with the Axl Rose Tat , literally where Axl signed his arm he had tattooed. He waked us in through the backstage door, right up to the floor and said enjoy the show and walked away. All I was thinking was why the hell did I buy a tix,lol But no worries I have that entire ticket still unripped, and you needed one to go from the fl to the bathrooms, and back anyway. Had a huge blast when the lights went out again, Prostitute was def a highlight for me. I think after all the shows I was at since 06 I got to hear pretty much every song live at one point or show during this run save for maybe 2 and definitely never Rhyad. After the show was an adventure. Hung out at the circle bar, DJ was hanging out there, chilling with his then Gf now wife. The guys from the opening band were hanging out. They really rocked . We wound up going up to a hotel room and partying with those guys and some others. Good time. After my friend had let my cousin and I spend the morning at his house, to sleep before we woke up some hrs later, to do the drive back to Cali. Was definitely a awesome experience, and now I am jonesing for another show. Every show I ever was at, was always memorable fun, exciting and sometimes a mission. The ones that stand out were the 12.31.11 and the 6.6.14 shows. Luckily, Axl sounded great each time I saw him. I also liked the Oklahoma show on 11.9.2011. In general I feel very fortunate to have been able to see the band. Oh, I was also at the show on November 21 2012 when they taped the show and it turned into the DVD release, so that was pretty cool too.
Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: JMB-GNR on May 22, 2015, 04:19:18 AM I saw them twice in 2010 (Antwerp & Arnhem) and twice in 2012 (Rotterdam & M?nchengladbach).
The 2010 concerts seem to be a bit stronger because Axl was in really good shape. Maybe the memories of those shows are also better because it was the first hearing songs like Sorry, This I Love and Shackler's Revenge live. I loved the 2012 shows because of Estranged and Civil War in the setlist. M?nchengladbach was very cool because it was outdoors and that always gives it a special vibe. And during November Rain is started pouring rain :) At all concerts Axl sounded great and the live experience CANNOT be compared to the YouTube experience. Especially in 2012 I listened closely to how Axl sounded because of all the bitchin' about his voice and it was really good! Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: mortismurphy on May 22, 2015, 11:07:40 PM Really? I saw Guns live in 2012 and I watched the youtube clips and I found the technology loosely capable of rendering an accurate live rendition of the events in question. It is a video and mic recording the event at the end of the day.
Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jazjme on May 22, 2015, 11:28:54 PM Different kinds of mics , work differently, your sure as hell aren't gonna get quality audio off a phone, or pad etc.You do know something about audio engineering? if you did this is pretty simple.
Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: mortismurphy on May 23, 2015, 07:19:17 AM Yes but as long as you factor in the fact that you have knowledge of the limitations of the technology, I do not understand how these clips are rendering different quality performances. I saw him live on 2012 and have seen a few clips from the other dates on that tour, and I do not see the discrepancy. If somebody said to me, ''is that what that tour is like?'' I would say, ''yes, that is what it is like'' - obviously, at a much lower volume, more treble, without the ambiance. The equipment can only record what is there in front of it.
Axl sounded absolutely fantastic on the 2006 tour and the clips show that. I also saw that tour and when I look at the clips, it reminds me of how Axl sounded on that tour. It is that simple really. Axl was cool as hell and sounded amazing. Many highlights from that night, but I about shit my pants when they played Civil War!! First time played by current band and it was epic. I felt pretty blessed to witness that GNR history in person! I knew the people on this site would be excited! That was an awesome experience and hope they play close enough that I can go again some day!

Why did topic have to be so lineup specific Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: Boromir on May 28, 2015, 07:32:55 AM I've attended to the 3 following shows
September 23rd, 2010 - Belgrade, Serbia @ Beogradska Arena June 8th, 2012 - M?nchengladbach, Germany @ Warsteiner Hockeypark July 8th, 2012 - Sofia, Bulgaria @ Vasil Levski National Stadium (Sofia Rocks 2012) The first one was an incredible show, whole band on fire, Axl on great mood. Second show was really good, started rainning in the middle of November Rain throughout the show. I Enjoyed it very much although i was waaay back in the crowd. The third was a special one. It was a 3h 10m show, the band gave everything they had and later on i had the chance to meet the band backstage and get to sit with a little group of people next to Axl in his room. Thank you GUNS N' ROSES for all the memories! :peace: Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on May 28, 2015, 11:32:53 AM Why did topic have to be so lineup specific Because it was the latest tour. /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: reayj2003 on May 31, 2015, 06:36:28 AM One year ago today! Vegas show with Duff. The perfect last "Chinese Era" show for me. I was 30 last year and the Vegas trip was a great celebration. Did 12 shows in period between 2009-2014. (Bergen, London O2, Birmingham, Manchester in 2010 Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow & 2 London shows in 2012 & 3 Vegas shows in 2014). Met Axl after June 1st show 2012 which was a brilliant moment.

Axl sounded and looked great on this song! The Bandanna & shades look is awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HH8kNwbjNY&feature=youtu.be (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HH8kNwbjNY&feature=youtu.be) Edit: Sorry it's shaky, the drinks girl kept me well watered which on top of major jet lag made me a little dazed. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: WAR41 on May 31, 2015, 02:58:46 PM That 12.07.2010 concert from Adelaide is also pretty solid. That's the one the guys at MYGNR put up on Youtube. Good show worth checking out. So your tour memories are based on Youtube clips? To be honest, that wasn't really what I had in mind by starting the topic. See AdZ's post above for examples. :) But yeah, I get that Youtube is popular and all... But maybe there's more memories than "I saw the show on Youtube and Axl sounded great"... :) /jarmo I have had my reviews deleted before and I was in attendance for the shows. I thought the East Rutherford show was great as I had purposely not read any setlists or watched new show clips on social media for years leading up to it. I wanted to be surprised at the setlist when I finally saw the band again and although a lot of it was the same from 2006, I did have a good time. If you go back and read my show review at that time I believe I first mentioned my hatred of DJ Ashba as a performer which continues to this day. The Up Close and Personal NYC shows were a bore for the most part. The Ritz show was cool, they played some other songs they didn't play previously, but the setlist was pretty much the same throughout all 4 of those shows. It was because of the predictable setlist that I skipped the Brooklyn Bowl and Randall's Island shows. If/when this band switches it up I will consider attending shows again, but I am tired of paying money for a performance I've seen several times before. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: russkwtx on May 31, 2015, 11:56:08 PM True, the core of the set list did not change much, but I feel very fortunate to hear many of my all time favorites during the time period, some gems that were not played that often: nice boys, yesterdays, TWAT, out to get me, civil war, some others I can't recall right now. The only significant song that I would like to hear from days past that I have not heard live is down on the farm. Other than that, I think the band did a really good job mixing in some oldies and rarities while also playing the faves that the casual fan came to see. I don't have a problem at all with the set list, and again, I feel very fortunate to have been able to seen them multiple times and each time left me more impressed.
Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: rebelhipi on June 01, 2015, 03:42:57 AM The set lists varied a lot compared to 2002 and 2006-07 tours.
Ithink they made agreat job mixing songs up Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: russkwtx on June 01, 2015, 02:08:48 PM The thread is about the 2009-2014 period so my post was responding to that time frame.

Long time coming to see them but at last I did it was a lot of fun and hells teeth what a show i still think back to that night with a great deal of affection. The heat i remember a lot i go to that arena often and i dont think i ever have been as hot as that night, the support Thin Lizzy were ok,but in fairness id seen the Phil Lynott version many moons ago so any version without him in it was never going to come up to scratch. Best song Estranged..best song Guns ever did in my view. Axl sounded pretty good that night his voice cracking a few times but you always felt he sung while leaving plenty in reserve in needs be. I loved the view we had from our seat (im too old and frankly to damn cranky to be standing nowadays ive done my time in the trnches and i aint going back) we were level in the ramps that jutted out from the stage and where DJ would go and balance sit etc and while most people would ask to be moved i was more than happy to watch a big scale rock show in action from another viewpoint, time and agin we saw Axl's comings and goings to the "tent"and as the night wore on Axl would throw a smile or a little wave towards the wife and me (as in fairness did the other band members when they came over),it just added to a great night. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on June 09, 2015, 08:58:45 PM Liverpool was a great show as well.
Nice venue in a pretty cool location! Wow, you saw Thin Lizzy with Phil! Wow, you saw Thin Lizzy with Phil! Old school! :D /jarmo Old school hehe aye i am that i suppose i saw Thin Lizzy at liverpool empire in 1979 aged a mere 13 years old,i went with my big sister who was well into the band back then,i was more into punk/new wave than metal but Lizzy were a fine band to see live noisy and hot i seem to recall the show. As for the Echo Arena it is a fine venue but one that struggles to get metal acts, when i saw Guns were playing there it was a given i would be going (i had waited far too long to see them in fairness),but only yesterday Motley crue announced the birtish tour and yet again Liverpool missed out and im not sure why it struggles so much to get less "mainstream" music it annoys me too. Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on June 11, 2015, 10:21:11 AM Yes, I was surprised and happy to see GN'R hit Liverpool in addition to Manchester and Birmingham. The shows in Melbourne were quite close to the F1 track, so Iyou could hear the cars from the venue.... And then the show in Malaysia was after the race. Got to see a race live and then GN'R. Montr?al was sp?cial in 2010. Axl and the band were on fire and had something to proove. Enjoyed the song Sorry that night. Axl picked up some injuries as h? needed physical therapy for the next night in Toronto.... that gig was special. i enjoyed meeting some really cool fans before in a bar..derby Greg, Jos?e evita, sex kitten and a few others...Worst part was walking down to the gig w?th Jarmo and adz :hihi: Enjoyed the terminal 5 gig too as brought my wife for the first Time and she lov?d it...that night GNR played over 3 hours...got there late...really surprised gnr did ther ucap gigs after the arena tour...met del for the first Time as i Walked in and asked If there more ucap dates after New york. H? said no..the follwing week gnr announced further dates...lol There has been others but th?se have been the Two highlights for various reasons. I was not aware. OK, well, in that case...I went on 11.26.2011. Axl came out at a little after 11PM and they played for 3 hours. I had a good time. And I guess that concludes my presentation. Wow. When looking back at the tour as a whole, I can only support my views based on youtube clips and the DVD as I only saw 2 shows ? the first two in Europe, Bergen and Oslo. Haha. /jarmo Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: LIGuns on August 10, 2015, 01:21:24 PM I remember chiming in on the monorail after the 2000/2001 HOB show how incredible it was seeing GN'R in a club venue..Little did I know this would be something they would venture to on rare occasions as warmups, mini-tours, residencies and private parties...B-foots first show was special, the Up Close N' Personal show at the Roseland might be my favorite due to all the stadium sized production in a small club atmosphere or perhaps the Brooklyn Bowl show for the rawness and intimacy of a sold out 600 plus capacity crowd...But I also the the feeling A multi thousand arena crowd feeding out of Axl's hands for 2-3 hours!
Title: Re: 2009-2014 Tour Flashback Post by: jarmo on August 10, 2015, 02:27:50 PM Brooklyn Bowl was a nice contrast to the gigs in Buffalo and at Governors Ball.
