''The ultimate musicians''. What an odd thing to write, especially when it includes a guy from Foreigner.

I guess you have to price out the bullshitters.

But yeah, that's a lot of loot.

Has to be a good sign.

Would they let him advertise himself that way?  I'm guessing not.

I wouldn't let him bill himself that way if he wasn't a member of the band anymore. It wouldn't be true!

Clearly, someone needs to pony up the 6 large and get us some answers.

I won't go, but I'll kick in.

I like it.

Ron looks badass and I agree that this is a good sign that Ron is still in GNR. If that's true it is some very good news. Trying out for a new guitarist must be a pain with a band like GNR. This could mean there is one less roadblock obstructing a few things we all want, if the roadblock was ever there to begin with. PS Joe Perry's skunk like hairstyle is quite unique. There was an Indian woman that worked at a liquor store her husband owned near my house when I was young with the same hairstyle. I completely forgot about it but I guess the skunk lives on, and atop the head of Joe Perry of all places!

That's not really evidence of anything other than maybe the fact that GN'R is what he's most known for.
Some promoters still bill former members who left the band decades ago the same way...

So, I wouldn't take that as a sign or evidence of anything really...

My post is my opinion. I posted it because I've seen Gilby Clarke advertised as being from GN'R....
I don't have a lot of faith in promoters being 100% accurate and honest about billing shows. Sorry!

Jarmo is right that he might just be using the name because that's his highest profile project.

But Axl has also shown himself to be more than a wee bit petty on this issue.  He doesn't like Slash using it, and Slash would certainly have a more legit case than Ron, no?

I get it...I have seen those kinds of thing with Gilby too...

just surprised to see you say it...it lends to the theory that he might be out of the band

I personally do not expect to see Ron on stage with Axl the next time he performs

I don't know. But I wouldn't look for clues in something like a concert poster....

That's all.

Aren't you always telling us to be positive?

Here we are, trying to look for the positive, and you are just shitting on it.

Regardless of whatever your sig might say, you have to see how this looks.

Bumblefoot left the band after the show on June 7.
Other band members in Las Vegas were saying this is it, we have to look for more work, it'll be along time before you see us again... stuff like that.

I think Jarmo knows what we think to be true.  That is, Ron's not currently under contract, and future with GN'R is tbd.

Fine.

Disregard the fact that promoters usually know shit, this must be sign!

Also, I don't know "what you think to be true" since nobody made an announcement either way. My stance is: I don't know. But I'm not putting a lot of weight into a concert poster. It doesn't change the "I don't know" at all.

Once again, for those looking for things: I do not know.

That makes sense if that is only what the promoters are selling him as. I thought he himself was selling himself as a member of GNR. Dang. I hope the guy is still around. That would suck for GNR to have to find another guitarist that would work as a replacement for Ron. Ron oh Ron, are you still in GNR? Let a brotha know!

I see what you're saying. I don't think anybody is stopping these artists who get labeled this way from telling promoters to stop it.
But do they? Who knows.

I mean, it's business. If someone (for example Gilby) starts demanding promoters to bill him without mentioning former bands, chances are promoters would get pissed and stop booking the shows....

I understand what you're saying, Jarmo.  But, there is room there for clarification.  You can say "former Guns N' Roses" instead of "Guns N' Roses".

I would personally not want someone to be billed, even by a promoter, in such a way that implies they are a current member of the band if they are not a current member of the band.  It's just not true.  So, while it's up to GN'R if they catch wind of this and depending on the circumstances, but I personally would not blame them for saying, 'Hey, you are a former member of the band, so you can bill yourself or be billed that way.  But, you aren't a current member of the band, so you can't be billed that way".  They would be justified in doing that, should they choose to do so.
