MYGNR EXCLUSIVE: BREAKING NEWS ON GNR PLANS FOR 2014

Contrary to the feeling of frustration enveloping MyGNR, the Media Crew can exclusively tell you that things will be hotting up for GNR in 2014.

As previous reports have loosely alluded to, the band will once again embark on a period of touring. Starting in Mexico during mid-March, GNR will pursue a full South American Tour.

If you're elsewhere in the globe however, fear not, because Guns N' Roses will also be hitting parts of the US. This will include a highly-anticipated return to the location of last year's residency - VEGAS.

Furthermore, hold off on labelling this as further pointless touring. We can also exclusively reveal that the band are planning to present 2 to 3 new songs during next years touring.

But there's more...

A lot more. While we aren't at liberty to divulge any further, MyGNR encourages you to approach 2014 with a clear sense of optimism.

I was going to post this.  ;D Merry Xmas and Happy New Year GN?R FANS!!!!

Thank you so much Santa Axl. Great Xmas present.

 : ok:

If someone is second guessing mygnrforum I can explain this. UK Subs, one of the administrators got it from the GN?R camp. They have a media crew there in the forum. So those guys were told by the administrator to post the news. There is still more but mygnr people will inform when they are allow by the camp

Mygnr wouldn't announce the info if it wasn't legit. Why GNR told them is unclear. I thought this forum or the official forum would have been informed first.

Mygnr is horrible.  Their news reporter has nothing but disdain for Axl Rose and DJ Ashba.  There is no source.   Sorry, I'll wait for the GNR camp for my news.  Not a site that hates on new GNR.   : ok:

Think what you will about their news reporter, but this info came from UK SUBS, one of the admins. From what I've read I'm sure he's got a proper source for this information. Jarmo might confirm as well?

Now, until any of this is officially announced, plans could change.. Looks promising though.

I just hope Axl knows he has a tour. It wouldn?t be the first time that things gets cancelled because Axl found out on the internet.     :nervous:

P.S. In Mygnrforum there is a mix of everything, love, hate, passion and assholes. So yes, there are heated debates. The news reporter guys are actually pro Axl and new band although sometimes they don?t agree with everything Axl does.

I've never signed up on mygnr, but I occasionally check it out...no matter what the subject is, every single thread turns into a Dj Ashba bashing thread...and as a HUGE Ashba fan that forum is extremely frustrating. I think it's funny with Dj because other than Axl I think he has the most fans out of anybody in the band, but he also has the most haters. All I know is that when you're leaving the arena after a show all you hear people talking about is how awesome Axl still is and how awesome Dj Ashba was...but mygnr has a serious hate on for Dj.

1. Oh my God (reworked) - been rehearsed in 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fy2zjfhxU0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fy2zjfhxU0) and seen on supposed setlists http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_me5q06Jnqo1qb2xmpo1_500.png (http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_me5q06Jnqo1qb2xmpo1_500.png)
2. Silkworms (reworked) - someone asked Axl after a gig this year about Silkworms and apparently he said "Actually we are thinking about releasing that later this year"(2013)
3.  ???

I'm sure it's not the touring part that people are getting excited about. I'd say it's the 3 new songs and the other things that haven't been mentioned yet. I for one love it when they tour and I hope the return to vegas Means another residency...that would be awesome!!!

I for one am all for surprises regarding new songs, new setlist songs (songs that haven't been played in a while or ever), special guests, new merch, new albums/boxsets.  As for concerts please announce them in advance to the degree possible.  Have desire, will travel, but the cheaper the better!

I see that their latest fb update says '2014 is going to be f'n' crazy':

Hope that means that they really do have big plans for next year, and this isn't just the Guns camp's Brazilian contingent getting all excited about the World Cup. And if they are planning something, let's pray that intention turns into action

The three songs would be:
Silkworms - sounds much better on studio version, Axl uses his Down on the farm style vocals
Oh My God - same vocal track as the 1999 version but with new guitar
Going Down - probably Axl higher in the mix on the release

No GNR tour is meaningless. It's a great time anytime. I hope for another Vegas residency as it was killer the first time around. I would LOVE some NEW songs too. Maybe a couple of old Illusions songs as well that haven't been done. Whatever it is I will be there.

I think they should do a world tour to hand back all the bra's, panties & lingere we've thrown during the concerts.   That would keep them busy for a while.
Or maybe a world tour throwing THEIR underwear into the audience to get us all back, now that I would like to see  ;)

I think personally the start of next year will start another big push in terms of activity in Guns world. I believe this story as it sounds logical, and Fernando did say that they were looking at South American dates. I think mid-year will see GN'R fully back in touring mode, and you have to think that not releasing an album in 2014 would be utter rediculous with all this activity. And I can see the band maybe debuting 1-3 new songs on the next round of touring.

Maybe the plans are to present 2-3 new songs (not covers....) live to the fans and release an EP later in the year.
Also I might be the only one in here who don't another Vegas residency.Simple touring is better.
Thank God Bbfoot, for pushing the whole Guns camp forward...

Like if they show up.

This is good news, obviously.  The residency doesn't do much for me, nor should it for anyone not planning on being in Vegas that month, although I actually might be depending on when it is.

Overall, the touring seems more of the same, but the talk of a few news songs is far and away the most interesting part of this announcement.

Personally I don't get fans who keep saying they don't wanna go see the show. Who doesn't want to see their favorite band play the songs you love? Really? I can see if you're not old enough to attend, you don't have the money, they're not playing anywhere near you etc. But these reasons are rarely to be seen. It's more of the "I'm not going" routine.

At this point the return to vegas part could just be a couple of shows, but I really hope it's a residency and by the sounds of it, it probably is. The last one was awesome and I'll definitely travel to vegas for another residency. To me that's the most exciting news...but to me there's nothing better than seeing guns live and I also love vegas. Also...maybe something will be officially announced this week...Dj posted on Facebook last night " Exciting week ahead! G'nite!!" Could be about any one of his projects, but I have a feeling it's about guns.

Because you either refuse to see, or simply see and refuse to acknowledge, the fact that its 2 separate issues.

They have been touring behind this album for years, literally years.  There is not one spot of the globe they have not touched.  And, odds are, when they came to your spot, you went to the show.  Good stuff.  Good times had by all.  No one is saying otherwise.

But after a long layoff after yet another leg, many of us continually hope they will finally get rolling on new material.  So when they re-surface and the only news is yet another pass through an area they have already combed over...its tough to get all that jazzed about.  All the more so when the setlist has really not changed all that much.  You likely already saw the production they are bringing back around, again.  And further touring with the same show just further delays any hope of something new on the material front.

Its not people don't like concerts.  We are unclear why it has to be either/or.  And doubly unclear why you pretend to not understand this concept.

To be fair - and as a disclaimer, I've seen the band 8 times since 2002 - I totally understand them. I don't like the way they act online in a lot of cases, as if the band owes them something (especially since they play much longer sets than most bands), but I do understand not wanting to see a band if you've seen the show several times and it hasn't changed or changed much.

To put it in perspective, I've seen Tool twice, both as part of the 10,000 Days tour, and while they were good shows and Tool is one of my top 5 bands, I won't see them again without a new album/major changes, because I've basically seen the same show twice, and they spend about half the time on stage that Guns does (barely over 90 minutes). I also wouldn't have seen Guns the last time I saw them (Sound Academy in Toronto) had I not won tickets, because when it comes down to it, it's more than just having the money or not - it's about the limited amount of money people have to spend and the wide number of shows you have to choose from. When you've got choices, and most people love more than just one band, you're going to go for whatever is fresh. I guess this isn't an issue for areas that don't get as many shows but I do get it.

Again - I hate those who act like the band owes them something, but it's like your favourite movie, you only watch it so many times and then you just don't for a while. You might come back to it after a year, or a few years, but until then you watch other things.

Which is why this is great news - new songs definitely have me excited to see the band again. Whereas if they toured here again with the same set/close to it, I'd probably pass.

I don't "understand" the concept just like you don't.

I see a lot of other bands announce new tours, with different names/gimmicks. Without them putting out new material. No problems.

Some people listen to the same songs every day. Either on the radio going to work, or on their iProducts. But seeing their favorite band once every year or every other year playing those same songs live is "bad"?

No, I don't "understand" the thinking behind it. You don't need to bring up the "new material" excuse.  I don't buy it. GN'R will do what they want, when they want. Not when others think they should. Not touring isn't a guarantee you'll get your "new material" sooner. We have 2003-5 as evidence.

I enjoy whatever they do.

Not posted here for a while but im watching the London 2012 gig and it's got me in the mood.
Really hope they do another UK tour in 2014. I never get bored of seeing them Live! New material would be nice but not everything, Just to hear the classics and a few songs rarely played is enough. Theres loads of bands that tour 'the hits' for years and don't release material..The Stones and The Who for instance.

The Stones also consistently put out new material for 40 years though.

Their longest break between albums (8 years between 1997's 'Bridges To Babylon' and 2005's 'A Bigger Bang') would seem like not even a thing to Axl's current operation.

I for one was glad of the recent additions of UYI material..Prior tours were a bit AFD heavy...loved hearing AFD, Lies, UYI material Long side CD material..So hopefully the next round of touring keeps a for representation of all GNR albums..

Its not people don't like concerts.  We are unclear why it has to be either/or.  And doubly unclear why you pretend to not understand this concept.

/jarmo

"Whatever they do" has basically equated to nonstop touring for years and years, so if you like that then that's great and like you say it's great to go to see your favourite band, I agree! BUT there comes a point where you have to see how it can get frustrating for fans to not get anything new in the way of even a single download etc... especially when we know how much material there is in the vaults that they could either play live or release at the drop of a hat. It has seemed lately that again, like you say, GN'R "do what they want", but that seems to have just been touring behind an album that's five years old and the classic hits which gets old to a lot of fans.

That doesn't mean we feel we're "entitled" anything new, it's just that, as fans, we just plain WANT and/or NEED something from a massively talented band; we want to see what they can do together!

Can't wait for next year to see what GN'R has in store for us, especially if it's new material and I'm sure it'll be amazing!

I get it.

But I remember 2003, 2004, 2005.... No shows, no new albums. So yeah, I'm sorry if in my opinion 2009-13 have been more fun as a fan and I prefer a year with shows to a year without.

I really do feel that when they tour next, they will premier a few new songs in the set. then we will start to hear more and more about a new album, which hopefully will be released mid-2014, with hopefully a DVD release like the Vegas residency.

Like if they show up.

That's the spirit.  :P

/jarmo

When was the last time they didn't turn up for a show, does anyone know the year? It surprises me they still blame Axl for past wrong doings, now he turns up, sings the whole show despite having things thrown on stage (just gives a warning now) but all people remember is 20 odd years ago when he had his tantrums. He's doing shows when sick when lots of us would stay in bed and take a sick day off. Give the man a break.

What do you guys think when they say they will bring out 2-3 new songs?? This could mean just 2-3 new songs in the set list (but still songs we've all heard).  Or, can it mean 2-3 brand new songs?

Might try to make it out there this time.  Depending on timing, finances, and such.  Looks like there might be some fun in store for 2014.  Let's hope.

I'm not a member at MYGNR and I hardly ever go over there, but since this stuff was announced I've checked it out and they have 35 pages of discussion about this and we have 3! I like this site way more but Why is it so dead here? Some people want new music, some people want more touring, some people want another residency, some people want communication from the band...so this gave EVERYONE something to be happy about but yet nobody seems happy?? Plus there's more news to come.  I must say though that on the other site there are a lot of people who aren't excited about the residency news...are you kidding me? I went last time and it was AWESOME! When you go to the Hard Rock before a show there are other hardcore gunners there everywhere you look, who have travelled from all over the globe to see their favorite band and party with other fans who have also travelled from everywhere you can imagine...it's a truly unique and wonderful experience to meet GNR fans from all over the world...plus the shows were outstanding!

Maybe as it hasn't been announced on here? I'm excited & don't even live near the USA but hoping for PPVs & even more of Axl minus the hats/glasses/jackets as we have been seeing over the last year or so. More fan pics/videos of meeting the band members, interaction between the band and fans - that means Axl too if he's reading this  :peace:  Love this band so much & if I could I would fly myself and a friend over there to Vegas to see the shows - new songs or not.

with my impending move from Australia to the USA, I hope that this Residency is later in the year. I don't think I could afford two trips in one year.

I tend to think it would be 3 brand new songs. I may be mistaken but they never made a big fuss online or announced anything when they added Estranged, Civil War, CITR & TWAT to their setlist. As exciting as the concept is I would also almost rather not know, knowing the setlist before a show takes a little bit of fun away, even though GNR's has been pretty stable over the past couple of years we can easily see from the setlist that there was a chance of something new coming up on multiple occasions :)

I'm hoping it's during pool season...I think pools usually close nov 1st. I was just there for the motley residency and there's nothin better than seeing a kick ass rock show and then getting up the next morning and spending the day lounging at the amazing Hard Rock pool talking to everyone about the show the night before. I was there mid September and it was still HOT during the day.

You can only talk about the same things so many times. If there's no news there's no new's. MYGNR doesn't even compare to jarmo's site.

I totally agree about the quality of sites, Jarmo does a great job here and it shows...that's why I'm a member here. I just find it interesting that they have 10 times the amount of posts about this.

Well, I think we all know this deep down, but its the elephant in the room we tend to look past.

Many people aren't really down the rah-rah atmosphere and some of the pop-pom waving that goes on around here.

I dont post at mygnr but i do read it... ever since the new mods took over...its 100 times better

and even tho the perception is that everything there is negative... thats not true... the majority of posts are positive and encourage the new band to accomplish great things... but they dont delete the negative ones either as long as its not blatant name calling and stuff like that

and the negativity isnt even directed at the band as much as it is Fernando and Beta

there is just a bigger following there

Why does mygnr get the exclusive and not a real news site?  Or at least follow up with legitimate sites after you do the "exclusive" for the fans.  All i know is that the more this band is promoted, the more money they make, the happier everyone is, and the more they'll be willing to do (maybe even a record??).

I was at two shows the last Residency and will support a second one as well.  It was a paradise for GNR fans.  Seeing Pitman or Ferrer and other band members though out stay was almost common place.  Great idea and I will stay tuned to this site for more details!

This is great news, and love how people seem to be positive across all forums. I saw GN'R twice in Las Vegas at the old Joint back in Sept 2006, and it's so amazing to see them in Vegas. I too hope to see some UK and European dates, as I'm from the UK, but all this news is VERY exciting to say the least!!!...  ;D  : ok:
