When looking for a GN'R forum I quickly decided this would be it!! I don't post as often but I really appreciate the site and would like to see it continue for many years to come!

It's kinda amazing how much the Internet and the way we use it has changed in these 17 years. When I put the first HTML files on the server in October 1996, most of us GN'R fans were using e-mail, Usenet and a few web sites to get our news. And there weren't a lot of it at that time. Fan forums didn't really catch on until a few years later. Nobody knew what a blog was.... If you wanted to hear a clip of a GN'R bootleg, you'd spend some time downloading a low quality RealAudio clip that a fellow fan shared on his/her web site. Nowadays we can watch full concerts in HD on Youtube.... Updates are coming from web sites, Twitter and other social media... /jarmo Title: Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HTGTH!!! Post by: norway on November 02, 2013, 12:31:15 PM I was so noob when I first started to write here lol. CDs? When this site started the trading was done on tapes! :hihi: mhm, still has rio3 on video. And the End of Days CD. I used to play OMG every day back then. I remember in 2001 reading about the gig in classic rock and talking with mom about it. My friends where like 'it's not gnr'. Then I started reading htgth on school. The internet back then wasn't too good . This site had better netiquette. |
