Here Today... Gone To Hell!

The internet wins again! Film website Taste of Cinema identified 30 great in-jokes from movies that you're likely to have seen, revealing goodies from the likes of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Captain America," "Thor," "King Kong" and "Casper." The full list is worth a look, but we'll tease you with one here: In "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," Arnold Schwarzenegger pulls a gun from a box of roses. In other words, there is a gun in those roses. It's like Guns N Roses!

Axl Rose's band, of course, performed "You Could Be Mine, the theme song for the James Cameron movie (watch the crossover music video here). And that, our friends, is what Oprah calls a "Full Circle Moment."

I've "seen that movie too" (about a million times) but I never really noticed that scene as a reference to GN'R. That's pretty awesome though.

how could you not notice this?  Not only is it in the movie, but the exact scene is in the YCBM video. 

I just never put 2 and 2 together on that. Should have though. haha

Still crack up at the end of the "YCBM" vid the terminator's identity mechanism advises him "waste of ammo"
after the entire band leaves the club & walks towards it.

Coool post!  One of my all time favorite movies!  And the video is awesome too..in the song "I'll be out the door before ya wake" the video shows the T-1000 throwing that tow truck driver "out the door" of his truck!!  So funny..

A side note that I found interesting.  Somewhere I read that Arnold gave Slash his leather jacket from the movie(there were dozens), but I can only find this auction from 1999 where the one in the picture was sold by Matt Sorum.

good times, I remember the press said they invented "Terminator Rock"
I was so excited when I had the single or when I watched the movie in theater.

The band is still on top of their game....even more.

YCBM sounds much better live than it did back then.

Thanks for sharing this story. I have to rewatch the movie now. They had one of these leather jackets at the Harley museum in Milwaukee.

I'd love to a hear a a pre UYI version of YCBM. Always wondered how a raw AFD lineup originally played it..

I had shivers when i heard it in the cinema watching terminator salvation. Wasn't expecting it.

That is a classic fact man ! also back then when i saw the movie i couldn't figure out that John Connor's friend,
the little punk is wearing a GN'R t-shirt but it looks like it's L.A. Guns  ::)
And in the YCBM video, like the Arnold scene with the shotgun and roses,where the lyrics say "...i'll rip your heart in two"  a soldier gets shot in the chest area and "...fit to burn" goes with the skull in flames.

As true guns maniacs in here,tell me people........ who doesn't know all the lines from all the characters in that movie ?

Seeing as this is a T2 thread, did anybody in the UK see 4rooms last night? An Arnie Tee Shirt from the film was sold for ?925....
