Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Has anyone here ever had any success with teeth whitening?   I am trying an over the counter treatment.  I am on day 2 of a 14 day program. I apply the strips to my teeth for a half hour everyday.  My wife made a comment to me recently that my teeth were yellow and disgusting.  I have been self conscious of them ever since.  The dentist wanted $400. but that was out of my budget. Hopefully this over the counter treatment I got makes a difference.  Any fellow  Gunners able to report any success stories?

The Dentist will have to do it properly. Stop drinking so much coffee.

Costs about ?20 in the UK from the dentist(or free if you're on any kind of goverment benefit), in and out in half an hour. Aye smoking, red wine and coffee don't help. There was a powder I've used before (the name escapes me) which is brilliant if used every day. It only costs about ?3.

Whitening the teeth can be straining on dental health tho. They are supposed to darken w time.

Wow, misinformation, teeth are not suppose to darken with time. Take care of them and they'll last you a life time.

Teeth in all animals becomes less white with age, same with ours even if you brush every day.

I finished the cycle with the over the counter strips.  After two weeks I'd say there was a little improvement.  I may start another cycle, but ultimately I may need to pay the money for the dentists expensive method.  Thing is I am embarrassed to ask about it in front of the dental assistant.

I don't understand, my teeth get horrible, due to smoking and the like, but as I said use a powder like Pearleys or something, they sort mine out straight away(one use and they are lovely again), I only use the stuff now and again, a wee box will last a few years, great stuff, and it only costs a few quid!

Where do you get that, a Pharmacy?


I started a second cycle of the over the counter whitening strips.  In retrospect, I think there was a little improvement.  I hope at the end of this I have a brighter smile.  I have also cut down on coffee.   When I do have coffee, Imbrush my teeth immediately. 

This is the stuff I have used before, it's a really good product as I say, I noticed the difference after first use.
