Title: GNR on Billboard Awards?
Post by: raindogs70 on May 19, 2013, 11:53:03 AM
Should we be watching tonight?

I didn't see anything about them performing - maybe they're doing a private gig after the award show?

I know Dj was there...did you see or hear something else that suggested the rest of the band was there as well?

Indeed Bumblefoot is in town. DJ lives here too so.... It would be great too see GNR do an unannounced performance and just own the place.

Over at MSL's GN'R board there's a thread with some video of DJ & Ron on the red carpet:

Thanks Russ.  Always good to see band members hanging.  I know it's been said a bunch, but this group seems get along best and to be the most cohesive lineup in some time.

I actually taped and watched the show for some ungodly reason.  Although there were a few highlights.  Prince was awesome closing the show, but 2 of the most memorable moments for me.

Kid Rock ripping on the amount of lip synching.  I found this especially hilarious because I noted it from the first performance.  I was trying to figure out who was really singing, and they were few in numbers.  Can't believe he said it though.  Ballsy move.  I approve though.

And then by far the highlight of the night, Miguel almost decapitating a girl trying to jump over the crowd during his performance.  I saw it in real time and was like, "I think he just took out someone in the audience".  So I rewound it and watched it over an over to see the damage he incurred.  Apparently the girl was alright, but I don't see how she didn't at least get a concussion.  He straight up kicked the girl in the head and then landed on her, slamming her head into the stage.  Then you see her adjust herself, dazed from what just took place, and then BOOM, she goes down.  Awesome!  Now that's a show Miguel.  Way to respect your fans.  I mean, damn.  I know it was unintentional but at least stop the performance and check to see how the innocent girl you just kicked in the face is holding up.  Oh yeah I forgot, he was lip synching, so he had to keep going to make sure nobody noticed.  Don't worry Miguel, Kid Rock clued us all in.  The secret is out.
