I'm holding out hope they'll do a show in CT right in that time frame.  Slim hope..but hope.  It's RIGHT around my birthday (June 7th) that they're in the area.  I can't make the Gov Ball....but I could swing a CT show if they decided we were worthy. :)

That would be really cool. I know for both Hamilton shows, we had a meet up planned...of course none of us are bright enough to actually pick a time, so we all wind up missing each other (Jarmo....I'm looking in your direction here....2010...don't think I've forgotten) lol....

Oh and it's looking like more and more of us from the boards are going VIP. I say we all stick together, and when Jarmo comes out, we just instantly break into a massive, pointless argument about what should be on the next album. It'll make him feel at home :)

The only reason I went GA is because I am unsure how the boy will react once these guys start rocking out on stage.  I want to be able to move around however he wants :)

That makes total sense. Obviously, if it gets too loud, and you need to move back, it'd be hard to do in the VIP area.  Still gonna be a solid show, no matter where you are. Can't wait!!!

what does that have to do with Buffalo?

This show is a couple hours down the road from me but I don't really see any way I could make it sadly - I have to work the next morning and I'm seeing Primus just after it.

I do listen to 103.3 The Edge in Buffalo a fair bit though and they're promoting it pretty frequently with that Mother's Day contest.

Anyone else concerned about the OUTDOOR venue pulling the plug if Axl plays past 11PM?  :nervous:
Thinking about doing the show, but I would be upset if I paid hotel, airfare, VIP and the band comes on at 10:30 and the venue pulls the plug at 11. America is strict about curfews.

I don't think the band is expected on stage before 9PM at least.
Especially if there's an opening act.

With an opening act that plays for about 45-60 minutes, that would put GN'R's stage time to about 10PM...

A curfew for 11PM seems very unlikely in my opinion.

I doubt there'll be a curfew.  I don't think Axl and the gang would book a show where there was an 11 pm curfew, with the show starting at 9 pm. Even though they've been doing great with going on stage, on time, that would only be a 2 hour show..and Axl don't roll like that...He likes to see us all collapse from exhaustion at the 3 hour mark and then say "Come on guys. If I can do it running around, you can do it standing still."

Not to fuel the rumor mill or anything Jarmo, but do ya think there'll be an opener for the show? I don't think anything's been announced yet. Granted, there always is, but ya never know.

I think this location is far enough from the city/residential areas that they can avoid curfews.

im soooo nervous!!!   2 outta my last 3 GNR shows didnt happen....albany ny, two novembers ago...  &  the Philly show!   AND....last summers Van Halen show @ Rochester ny...was cancelled also...im beginning to think i have the worst concert luck!!!...am i DOOMED to watch Crue DEF LEP & KISS over & over & over again??!!!.......hope not...lol :rofl: :rofl:

Well good luck but I wouldn't worry too much, GN'R have actually had a pretty solid record in the past while, and I'm hoping you're not doomed to Kiss and Crue cuz... ugh (someone I work with left Crue early the other night)

Amazing!  Can't wait for the show!  Early weather reports show clear skies.  This will be my third time seeing the gunners, each time gets better and better. 

Any update on an opening act?  Estimated start time for GnR?  I'm guessing 10:00(ish), with or without an opening act [note: this is not me whining, I don't care how long I have to wait, just as long as I get to hear them rock out].

Does anybody know what parking is like at the venue? What time does everyone plan on getting there?

- The parking lot at the Outer Harbor Concert site will open up 2 hours before the scheduled gate time for each show. Parking is $10, cash only and is based on a first come, first serve basis. There is plenty of free parking on Fuhrmann Blvd and we have an over flow lot down the street if the main lot fills up. Unfortunately tail gaiting is not allowed at the Outer Harbor Concert site lot.

The Axl, not the wheels... Guns n? Roses kicks off Outer Harbor Summer Concert Series on Wednesday with first area show in more than 20 years.

Guns N? Roses has been a band plagued by controversy and internal dissent from the beginning, but one constant in the group?s tenure has been virtuoso hard-rock guitar playing. Of course, the GN?R that the world initially fell in love with in the late ?80s was all about guitarist Slash, whose killer tone, attitude-infused solos, and in-your-face riffs defined the GN?R sound for so many. Slash has been gone for a long time, and he?s not at all likely to return, so alienated from vocalist and current band leader Axl Rose has he become over the years. But the line of supreme guitar playing in the ranks has remained unbroken, with the mysterious shredmaster Buckethead having served a stint under Rose?s rule around the time of the ?Chinese Democracy? release.

Now, the jaw-droppingly intense and highly inventive Bumblefoot (Ron Thal to his mom) is handling the primary six-string duties in the GN?R lineup. Bumblefoot ? and you should check YouTube for some examples of his prowess, if you are unfamiliar with him ? will be flanked by former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, as well as guitarists Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed when Guns N?Roses arrives for a show at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Outer Harbor concert site.

This will be the first Guns N? Roses show in Western New York in more than 20 years. Tickets are $43 advance (Town Ballroom box office, Ticketmaster).

Yeah saw this already, if one is going to write about the band they could have taken 5 minutes to find out who does what IMO.  Junk.

To say that GnR "was all about guitarist Slash" proves that this hack knows nothing about this band!  True, Slash was instrumental to Guns back in the day, as were Izzy, Duff, Steven, and, oh yeah, Axl, the greatest frontman of all time!  Hold on, need to play me some Get in the Ring.

Alright ladies and gents...showtime's almost here.  Can't wait.  The venue looks great and from listening to recents shows, the band sounds awesome.  Anyone else going?  Hopefully I'll get to see Jarmo and the crew.

Dude, you're in for a treat.  This will be my third show.  We got a crew of 8 rolling up in a limo (we live about an hour away).  Not quite sure what time we'll actually get there (we have VIP tickets so I'm assuming that means a roped off area near the stage so we don't have to be the first people there to get a good spot).  Enjoy the show.

I'll be the guy in the black and white plaid fedora, with the beat up GnR jacket on, with the Appetite logo on it. Feel free to look for me and say hey gang!! Trust me..you can't miss the hat from a mile away...

Wow, I'm loving Ron's new guitars... The sunburst doubleneck and also this neat sunburst Les Paul which just looks gorgeous by the way. A nice solid setlist as well for this show, Guns seem to have made Catcher a staple in the set now. Although I do want to see Sorry and Street Of Dreams return.

Holy shit...what an awesome show!  GnR completely owned it!  They sounded awesome, and got to hear Civil War.  Seriously, every song was kick ass.  Axl seemed to be having a good time.  They put on one hell of a show...which makes for one hell of a work day today!

GREAT show!!!!.......axl had a huge smile on his face all nite.......Nighttrain,got theee biggest response,everyone started dancin hard to that one!!!...&  the SEEKER   rocked the fuck out!!!

Line of the night was from Axl on the mic while looking down at someone...

"Hey Jarmo, you look like an elf...."

I laughed for a solid minute at that one.

What an amazing show!! SCOD solo by DJ was done directly in front of my face, about a foot away (loved the front row again...oh yeah...)

During Night Train when he came down to be in front of the crowd and hang out with all of us? He spent a good 30 seconds on the railing, leaning on my cousin, who was right next to me.

The entire band was great with the crowd, and treated them really well throughout the night.  Band sounded great, and as we were leaving, every casual fan was saying "Holy shit! Axl sounds better than ever!!!"  Wasn't a disappointed person in the crowd. Loved hearing that.

3 for 3 in the front row. Can't wait for number 4!!!  (Whenever that'll randomly be)
