Had an incredible conversation at a wedding recently- got talking about music to the boyfriend of a friend. He asked me who I liked, I said Guns N Roses, he said 'I used to like them but I don't'. I asked why, he told me he hated Chinese Democracy, new band blah blah. I asked him what he hated about Chinese Democracy- he said "lots of the songs sound like copies of November Rain" which baffled me. To my ears, nothing does. Anyway, he keeps rambling on about how they're not the same band etc etc, then he then something slip about Chinese Democracy that I picked up on- that he hadn't ever really listened to it! I said "are you telling me, you've actually spent the last ten minutes telling me how much you dislike an album you've NEVER LISTENED TO?!" He said that was the case but he'd 'heard it was rubbish'. I just said to him "look mate, this is such a pointless waste of time. I'm annoyed I ever got talking to you, your opinion doesn't matter one bit to me, and I need to talk to people I give a shit about" and left him stood there! I think that honestly sums up some people's attitude to Guns N Roses. If they had never, ever, ever moved on they might be happy. Maybe. Title: Re: GN'R @ FaceBook @ 19 Millions FANS !!! i think if more people here respected that opinion .. there would be less animosity in the old vs new argument if they dont like it.. thats ok.. as long as we do.. that should be all that matters |
