Title: Kid Rock talks Axl on Stern
Post by: faldor on November 21, 2012, 01:58:23 PM
Not sure this deserves its own thread, but I didn't know where else to put it.  It's brief, and he starts out by saying he doesn't talk to Axl anymore since he collaborated with Slash.  But he goes on to say that he had a great time hanging with Axl, who says what he means, and described him as a "sweet guy".

Well to be fair, this is only Kid Rock's perception of things.  It doesn't necessarily mean that's the way it is.  I mean, I don't think you could ever have classified them as best of friends. (As an aside, the guys hanging out in a hotel that Howard Stern referenced were actually Axl and Baz, when they called into the show.  Not Axl and Kid Rock).  Kid joined them onstage at one of the Hammerstein shows.  As far as I know, that's the only real connection between the two over the years.  So, the fact that he hasn't talked to Axl recently could just be a total coincidence and have nothing to do with his collaboration with Slash.  Axl doesn't seem like the socialite type who hangs out at Hollywood parties or with celebrities.  If he does, he keeps it way on the down low.

So again, could just be total coincidence and Kid Rock may just view it as his involvement with Slash being the reason he hasn't talked to Axl in a while.  At least, I hope that's the case.

well, I'd call that a coincidence if it was a unique case.

but...I can understand that to a certain point, being myself kinda "with me or against me" kind of guy.
sometimes you just have to take some distance and accept that some friends of yours can be friends
with some people you consider assholes, that doesn't mean you have to ban them to your life.

because at the end, this is you who will suffer of the situation.

I love Kid Rock but playing with Saul Hudson was ridiculous.

Not sure if Kid had a great relationship with Axl but he should apologize for sleeping with the enemy.

Seriously? Apologise? I don't know about anyone else, but I decided long ago that if a friend of mine made me choose between them or some other person they didn't like, I'd choose the person who didn't make me choose out of principle.

I'm not saying that's what happened... I wasn't there, I can't know.

Kid Rock said the same thing in an interview with Fuse tv last year, he said Axl is mad at him and wont talk to him anymore because he did a record with Slash.  Again, not saying that is what happened, but that is what Kid Rock is saying happened.  He also said he really enjoyed hanging out with Axl and whatever problems Axl and Slash have are not his concern.

I think that there is a difference between correlation and causation. Though, they are often confused. If working on Slash's solo album was a deal breaker than why is it that Axl had shared a stage with both Izzy and Duff after they both played on Slash's solo album?

Yeah Ali you're right....I'm sure there is stuff we don't know anything about concerning this situation.

sure, but the rhetoric "don't say anything because you don't know anything" had his time and is too easy.

Kid Rock is not the only guy who can say that, Canter is another example, and there are others.

and you can hardly compare Izzy, who is *probably* one of Axl's best friend to Kid Rock.
Izzy said direct things about Axl numerous time, but at the end friendship was stronger
(surely because Axl thought he was right  :hihi:)

I'm kind of amused that Kid Rock thinks Axl "excommunicated" Kid Rock, not the fact that he used to live in Malibu and moved back to Detroit.
