Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Note: This is not Axl's watch!

As some of you may have seen, a Versace watch that purportedly was given by Donatella Versace to Axl is being auctioned off here:

Obviously it's pretty expensive, so I just wanted to see if any of the people here could verify it's authenticity either by knowledge of the gift, or awareness of photos showing Axl wearing it.

If it was gifted in 2007 I doubt there are any photos of him wearing it. But being it's a Julian auction, I don't think I'd have any doubts. I wish I had the money though, because that is one helluva timepiece. Love the hint of red on the bezel, I'm sure that just glistens against the diamonds.

Was just wondering the same thing. I go back to his joke on Jimmy Kimmel when Jimmy asked him when did GNR start making $$$ and he said "I don't know if I'm making money now." I'd really hate to think he needs it that bad. Don't know. Just throwing something out there.

I'll believe Beta when it comes to Axl, plain and simple. It might as well be from the man's mouth, period.

If you check out some of the other item's in the auction you will find Slash's guitar with it signed' starting at $400. Also you will find Izzy's guitar also up for auction but for alot more $20,000. It has to do with the giutar' 1959 gibson I think but not sure(not going back to look) there's over 600 items in the auction and I didn't write down the lot numbers for Slash's or Izzy's guitars but if someone has the duckets look it up and have at it. There are some crazy things for sale, mostly music memorabilia. But as Beta said, I wouldn't trust that the stuff is from who there saying it's from without documentation.

Yeah they should put a stop too it. Maybe its just the same model and someone has been had. The seller probably doesn't know it's fake.

Anyway someone should report to Juliens auction that this is a scam.

I think Julien's Auctions is a big SCAM, they should be in jail.

Beta and Jarmo - thank you very much!!!  This is a lot of money to me, and I don't want bid on it if the watch is not what it is held out to be (that is, the watch Donatella gave to Axl).

I called Julien's this afternoon to alert them to this situation.  They have assured me they will look into how they got the watch they are selling and get back to me.

I did  :hihi:  But in all fairness they've been really good with their time.  Maybe Axl should leave his watch home all the time.  On the other hand, did anybody check to make sure the watch was still at the house?  Somebody may have lifted it.

Love how Beta pops in every once in a while, drops the hammer down to kill a rumor, and then disappears in the night.   : ok: : ok:

She's also told everyone where to find his watch - in his house  :rofl:

Some people just don't get it, you don't mess with Jarmo and Beta. Jarmo is with them on tour all the time and Beta is Axl's "Mom", period. You don't see to many pictures of Axl without Beta to far behind, just making sure her boy is OK and being treated the best. In case you haven't realized, this is a tight knit proud Brazilian family running the "behind the scenes" of this GN'R tour.  Fernando, Beta, Jeri, Vanessa, just to name a few and there's a lot more. Most of us know but if you don't, now you do. I wish I had something cool to say in Portuguese but I don't. 
But they all do a great job of taking great care of the band!

I can never figure out how to read those watches, they look so complicated. I'm happy with a simple one with one face & 2 hands, although I do have one where the second hand is a little spider moving around.  :yes:

That's tacky to attach Axl's name to a watch that was gifted in the memory of someone who was murdered, and use that to help sell it for more money. I don't think Donatella would appreciate hearing Axl selling a gift off, either.

Julien's is pretty reputable, but from time to time, what might seem to come from a legit place, or be legit, turns out to be an elaborate hoax. The watch itself isn't a hoax, but this is along the lines of giving someone a nice gift, and seeing it out at a yard sale a couple of years later.

Unfortunately this sort of thing is happening on a large scale, all over the world. I'm glad in this instance a poster was able to confirm the genuine nature of the item by coming on here, but not everyone has the honour of asking someone who is as close as you can get to Axl personally. (Thanks to Beta N' Jamo for that)

On a side note, Axl's watch looks lovely... and I would love to have one just like it. But I'm afraid I'm saving my money for future GN'R shows / tours, so I'll have to make do with a Sekonda watch for now.  :hihi:

You didn't have to do that.  I wasn't questioning your word.  I can say within reason my stuff is where I left it at home without checking.  I would hope Axl could say the same but after having seen the pictures of those people snooping through his bathroom, it occurred to me maybe he can't.  I'm sorry if you guys had to check up on your stuff just to be sure a guest to your home didn't take something.
