Title: Opening bands in Vegas
Post by: axlrosegnr on October 30, 2012, 11:22:28 AM
So apparently, there will be opening bands. At least on Halloween. "333", a local band featuring one of the morning show guys from KOMP 92.3 is playing Halloween.

I know it may seem we've been absent for a bit, it's not because nothing is happening........It's because everything is happening!!!
333 will be the opening band for Guns N' Roses on the opening night of their residency October 31st at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino!!! It's gonna be EPIC!!! See you tomorrow night!!!

So tonight we have Goldsboro opening, and Friday and Saturday is The Last Vegas. Kinda cool they're switching it up. Curious to see who else will open.

Heard the name before? I think. I'll check 'em out on youtube, then decide what time to show up, lol.

saw them open for Alice in Chains a few years back... they got booed, badly. lead singer actually yelled at the crowd for being assholes.

hope they're better than a few years ago!

They opened for VR back in 05. First New York show at Roseland Ballroom. There were booed for abusing a George Bush blow up doll. Shortly after booing Bush became the popular thing to do. I guess when Green Day initiates it becomes mainstream America.

The first time I saw Living Things was when they opened for Brides of Destruction at Starland Ballroom! They are great..very Stonesy with some punk mixed in

So as I'm sure everyone knows already via Guns' Facebook page... Adelitas Way will be opening (again) on the 23rd and 24th. I was unlucky enough to see them open for Guns 4 times last year. I'll be showing up late, lol. No idea about tomorrow the 21st though.

Adelita's Way getting high profile gigs like this completely baffles me.

Actually Green Day put out the anti bush album a year before that Roseland Show.  The difference is Green Day took their opinions and made a statement by crafting an excellent rock record that became a modern classic. Even if you don't like the record, millions of people did.

Living Things used blow up dolls to distract us from their fucking terrible, lame, generic, unimaginative, uninspired drivel they were trying to pass off as music.  It is no surprise that they are in the exact same boat they were in 2005, with nobody knowing who they are.  That band sucks.

So I just called the Joint, and they said Adelita's Way is opening tomorrow as well. Weird they didn't say that on their facebook? They only mentioned the 23rd and 24th.

Hahah! I dunno...I just couldn't get into 'em. All the songs sounded the same, and then the 10 or so covers they played  the first night didn't help their cause.

And when ya compare a song of yours to Led Zeppelin, you better make sure it's good (maybe even channeling Zeppelin), not a generic pop song that turned into a bland metal song within the first minute.

But there again, each to their own, I know a lot of people didn't dig Goldsboro in LA. Not gonna deny it, but I didn't at first either, 'till I got their album and listened to it a half a dozen times - now it's one of my favorite albums. How about Falling In Reverse? :P
