My favourite shows of all time are Lost, The X-Files, 24 and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. There's actually nothing much that I watch on TV now that all of those shows have finished. I've watched some True Blood, but that's gone downhill over the last couple of years. Want to check out Game Of Thrones, but I don't have the channel that it's aired on.

24 and The X-files were pretty good shows.

I've only watched a few Buffy The Vampire Slayer episodes and could never really get into it. But I loved Angel.

Currently I watch lots of shows, when I can. I love Californication. I think its one of the best shows on tv and can't get enough of it. I also really like Justified on FX. Really like Hell On Wheels, a western show about building the union pacific railroad. And I love Psych. Shawn and Gus are hilarious. I like more than that but thats good for now.

My all Time favorite show is The Wire. But I also loved the Shield, Deadwood, Terriers, Life, and a few more.

I'm a huge fan of lots of shows. New and old.

I download most of them from torrents, otherwise I could not go on the internet will spoilers everywhere.

Just finished Arrested Development yesterday, hil-fucking-arious, watched it in 4 days. Cool it's getting a new season in 2013 on netflix!

Just got the first season of The Office (UK) and Downloaded the first 4 episodes of Justified. Cool you mentioned it, Sober_times!

It looks like me and CheapJon agree on a lot of shows. Most of that list I like a lot too. I also get a lot of shows from torrents. Edit: Except on Californication. I still love it, 3rd season disappointed me(didn't like Kathleen Turner or Professor story-lines) but other than that I think its still really funny and really good.

One show not mentioned here that I happen to like a lot and forgot to mention is Community. I love it and find it absolutely hilarious(though its not for everyone). Too bad they have new show runners now for its fourth season. I am thinking they are going to drift away from most of the humor that is definitely targeted to a specific audience.

The best show on TV right now is hands down Breaking Bad!  First show in a long time where I'm itching to watch each new episode - I'm just as excited for new episodes as I am for big budget movies that you have to wait years to see (ex. Batman).

My second favourite right now is Game of Thrones... However, I am reading the books as well, so I might enjoy it more because I find it more coherent.  It's also cool to make comparisons between the two or wait for your favourite moments to be played out, etc.

On the comedy side, my two favourites are Parks & Recreation and Community - with a slight edge to Parks.  (Props to AxlsMainMan & Chief for their good taste!)

Comedy - Seinfeld (off the air for almost 15 years and I can still watch it and die of laughter)

Workaholics is one of the funniest new sit-coms IMO. watched it this summer. There's been 3 seasons.


I was close to download the first season of "parks..." yesterday actually! i'll check it out soon!

Watched the first 2 seasons or so of the clone wars then I just stopped. dunno why really, might pick it up again sometime even though I can't remember where i left off.

talking about animated series. Last year I watched the complete "Spider-man - the animated series". it was great. lots of jokes that I didn't understand as a kid. much better than any of the movies IMO.

I've tried a couple of new shows this week. None of them stuck with me.

I watched 10 episodes of Entourage, figured it just wasn't for me. I can explain but I won't unless you ask.  :P

Justified, watched 4 episodes. Didn't live up to my expectations so I bailed on it as well.

Parks & R... Only watched an episode, might not have been enough and might get another shot sometime, wanna see what's Ron 'fuckin' Swanson is about. Not a big fan of Amy Poehler.

Watched the first episode of 24 last night, this is a show that I've been meaning to start see for a long time. I'll check out some more episodes!

Stick with it, it gets so much better. I watched the first 2 episodes and stopped watching but than went back to it later. The first season it doesn't know what it wants to be. It still has that case of the week type feeling mixed in. But the story is really well done as the season goes on. And than each season are season long stories. They really connect the dots and do a good job of people paying for their actions. The characters on that show are really well done as time goes on. It becomes a very good series once it finds its groove. Season 2 was better than 1. And season 3 is just amazing. I can't wait for 4.

I also really enjoyed the IT Crowd and 24.

I saw the entire run of 24, and it was entertaining, but had a few ups and downs. definitely worth watching!

Sons of anarchy

Gay... never have I seen a show with such a badass premise with bikers who don't give a shit about anything make a case for universal healthcare. 

Cool, that's pretty much what I wanted it to be.

Figuring I just might skip the first season, that could work, right?

2 of my favorite shows of all time are Battlestar Galactica ( the newer one) and Seinfeld.

Unfortunately no. There is a villian who pops up here that is used later, i like him. The Crowders have some story that carries over, so does Raylan's father(introduced in episode 5) and ex wife.  Ava become a more important character. If I remember correctly, the stuff carries over. Some of those people become fixtures on the show. Plus the Finale is pretty good. I don't remember exactly. Perhaps skipping to the last 4 episodes of the season will do it. I am not sure, been awhile since i watched season 1. It has that procedural feel to it for most of season 1 but the show still gets better within season 1. I felt the writing picked up and the show became more interesting within the struggles of season 1 and than by the end of season 1 the case of week format is mostly gone. They do it a little in season 2 but it involves characters involved in the main arc if i remember correctly.

Homicide: Life on the Street 1993-1999 and TV Movie in 2000.  The most well written, acted cop show ever.  Filmed in Baltimore too.  David Simon was a writer also did The Wire, The Corner, OZ.

American Dad!, Dexter, The Office. 

And the classics--Buffy, Angel, Lost, X-Files, Batman The Animated Series.

Harper's Island was ok as a one off 'who done it' series.

Ha!  I thought me and Mrs A4P were the only ones who watched that mini-series!  That lead chick who plays the bride was absolutely gorgeous btw.

tv shows...currently there's not too much on.  I loved Seinfeld...I can always watch Family Guy and laugh...I'm currently laughing my ass off to Tosh.O  That guy is f'ing hilarious, but he's not for everyone...and by everyone, I mean most females I've spoken with.   :hihi:

We like The Office, even though it's quality has definitely dipped...I'll miss Robert California though.  Spader played a great character there.  Jim and Pam getting married kinda took that show down a big notch.

No, I watched it and enjoyed it. I thought the ending could have been little different, but it had me guessing until the end.

I never watch TV these days..... but all time favorite is Married With Children.  I still watch it on DVD every few months.

Married with Children was great. It was shown on Friday night ITV years ago along with Raw Power and American Gladiators. I remember it well  :hihi:

great season premieres of Homeland and Dexter! Dexter could be the best season in a long time for that show.

I like the Big Bang Theory comedy show. Sheldon is a legend.

First 2 episodes of Homeland and Dexter have both been great! Dexter could be headed for the best season since it's second.


It's a shame Hell on Wheels don't get more recognition. I hope it gets renewed for a third season. Awesome western series!

Dexter best season since 2?!?!  Dude, season 4 was insanely good, almost as good as season 1.  John Lithgow and Peter Weller were such amazing villains. 

I will agree that Dexter has stepped up from the debacle that was season 5.  I nearly gave up the show after that season.  I hope the Lumen character stays away for good.

Dexter has been good this season but it still has issues that make it below season 4 and season 2. I actually liked season 5, mostly. The only disappointing season for me was 6 but that is only because it was so pretictable. The whole Debra/Dexter thing didn't bother me as much as it bothered others. I honestly thought it would end up that way for her.

Regarding Homeland. It has started well. Upset with the ending of season 1 and what happened with Carrie and her memory.

Was really disappointed with that. But am thankful season 2 has started the way it has. Going to be interesting to see where they go with it...

to be honest, I am shocked to hear you say you liked season 5.  There was so much wrong with that season I'd almost like to forget it existed. 

Homeland has been good so far, I like how they have kept Carrie around.   

I got so bored with Rita and her kids in season 4 and all that shit. If they wouldn't have killed her off I probably would've given up on the show. Lithgow was indeed great but all the relationshit almost killed my interest.



Regarding Homeland, yeah I can't wait to see what Saul will do with what he found!

There were definite problems with season 5 but i found a way to look past some of the issues. I wasn't bothered by a lot of stuff other people were bothered by. Its not great by any means but I still found it mostly enjoyable.

There are issues with the entire series such as the total incompetence of the Miami PD. :hihi: At this point I am entertained just to see how stupid their going to be this season because they always do some incredibly stupid shit.  :hihi:

Just got into Walking Dead, one of the very few shows I actually follow. Also Burn Notice and The Office(american version).

I just recently watched all 3 seasons of BBC America's Robin Hood! It is excellent! I am obsessed with Richard Armitage's portrayal of Guy of Gisborne!

I thought the Dexter/Lumen romance was epic! :hihi:

I also love Game of Thrones. Copper was a new show I watched that kinda sucked.

I've just finished watching Walking Dead season 2. I like it a lot. Was skeptical beforehand, cause I'n not so much into zombies and stuff, but it's really good : ok:

Thought it was great.

Homeland also had a pretty good season finale even if it didn't end with a cliffhanger for the next season.

I loved the finale. It was a good episode, nice manipulation by Dexter. Also enjoyed how the very end was a call back to the season 1 finale.

Watching it the 2nd time was better. I had liked it, I just had a nightmare that night. I really want Deb to be OK. LaGuarda should have backed off!

My fav show Gossip Girl came to an end.  I am very happy that Chuck and Blair got married! and I can't believe that Dan was Gossip Girl! :-X

Anyone watch the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?   I love the entire cast even though they don't seem to love each other.  I live Lisa she is such a classy lady.  Yolonda is wonderful too.  Beauty and brains. 

Arrested Development is my favourite show of all time, about 4 episodes left of new series to watch. awesome.

Breaking  Bad Watched the pilot and was hooked had to watch it all over the weekend.

my all time favorite: Torchwood

personally i recommend watching Dr Who (21st century series....20th century series are great to, but not everyone's cup of tea) simultaniously to understand parts of Torchwood better especialle the beginning of the 2nd season.

other than that i'm completely into anime.

Still haven't watched the new Arr. Dev. season. Don't know why.

Finished The Sopranos 2 weeks ago. Might be the best drama I've seen. Felt so empty when it ended.

Picked up Oz after the Sopranos. probably around 10-11 episodes into it. Just as good as its reputation.  : ok:

Last seasons of Breaking Bad and Dexter is very different from each other, in the way that BrBa is insanely good and clear that it's the last season while Dexter is bland, poorly written and feels like just another season while it's only 4 episodes left. Will still watch the last episodes since I've followed the series this far but I just want it to end.

Heard good things about "Orange is the new black" on netflix. Anyone seen it?

Who's your favorite character? I still can't choose between Ryan, Adebisi, Wangler, or Scott Ross.


Check out Six Feet Under. It was Michael C. Hall's show before Dexter where he plays a gay funeral director and the writing and acting is certainly a thousand times better than drivel like Dexter.

I like many of them. Ryan, Adebisi, Kareem, Beecher. Beecher or Ryan is probably the favorite for now.

Scott Ross has one of the funniest lines in the show yet.

My favorite character while I was watching the show WAS Beecher, until.... well ya know.  Keller got involved. 

Oz may be my favorite show of all time.  I watched the series premiere episode the night it aired while I was in Greensboro, NC for a basketball tournament in high school and I was hooked.  I only mention that because I have a good Oz-related story.  I was on the 1 train in NYC in June of 2000 with my brother because we were going to see an early screening of Shaft starring Samuel L. Jackson.  I was 19 at the time.  So we are standing on the train not talking to each other because we are both staring at this guy who is 20 feet away from us.  Finally my brother says to me "hey.... that's Keller from Oz right?".  Right away I laughed and said yes, it was definitely him.  So there was Chris Meloni right there in front of us.  The first season of Law & Order: SVU had JUST ended a few weeks earlier and was not yet the massive hit it would eventually become.  So without thinking I walked up to Mr. Meloni and I said "Hey" and he turns around and looks at me and doesn't say anything.  I say to him "look.... go easy on Beecher this season, will ya?" and he laughed at said "will do".  His stop was next and he got off the train.  Not the most exciting story in the world, but to meet one of the stars of the show in the middle of it's run was a dream come true for me, especially at that time long before social media. 

Breaking Bad has raised the bar for what TV is capable of... can't wait for the last 3 episodes!

For basic cable television maybe, although I still believe The Shield is the most unheralded basic cable show of all time in regards to audience size during its initial run... I think premium cable has already been there with several series

'Breaking Bad' is amazing. I've been watching it for the past three days and i'm already near the end of season three.

The plot is twisted as hell and seriously I haven't been hooked on a TV Series like this in a long long time.

This and 'Californication' are the two Series I watched most lately and they both have blown me away.

The Wire, Oz, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Rome, Big Love, Boss....

I am basing this on the entire series not faltering in terms of quality like Dexter, True Blood, Californication, Entourage, etc. have fallen victim to.  I think you could make the argument that the Sopranos dropped in some of those middle seasons, but I overlooked that because some of those seasons are the best episodes in television history. 

In no way I am diminishing what Breaking Bad is.  I friggin LOVE the show, I really do.  Vince Gilligan has created something that, although some of the storylines are far fetched at times, has provided THE most intriguing television I've ever seen on basic cable.  And I am a huge fan of The Shield and American Horror Story which I feel are right behind Breaking Bad in terms of quality (please don't argue about The Walking Dead, this most recent season was so dreadful!). 

Premium cable has the ability to be grittier as far as language, sex and violence so I feel that is why they have gotten there sooner in terms of quality.  Yes I know sex and violence don't make a show automatically better, but I feel that they can bring more 'reality' to the show because of it.  Breaking Bad has truly pushed the envelope of what basic cable can do. 

Can't comment on the last four shows you listed, but I find the final 2 seasons of Six Feet Under and Oz to be simply horrendous while Breaking Bad has only gotten better as it's progressed.

I wasn't on the edge of my seat for the end of The Sopranos like I am for Breaking Bad either... the show was fantastic, but I would be far more upset if I had to miss the last 4-5 episodes of Breaking Bad than The Sopranos.  I think I'm a big fan of the fact that they are deliberately wrapping up the story and not dragging it out because it's popular (as a lot of shows do when they begin to decline in quality). 

Game of Thrones is fantastic so far, but I'm skeptical of ranking it too high until Martin actually finishes all of the books - otherwise it could be an awesome build up for a story with no ending.  Or he could write an ending that requires too big of a budget for HBO to handle!

Eazy E, I agree with you 110%, I was not on the edge of my seat for the finale of The Sopranos like I am with Breaking Bad right now.  I included The Sopranos on my list of great shows mainly because those first 2 seasons are arguably the best television in recent history.  The main focus of that last season was if Tony was going to be killed or not killed and that was it.  With Breaking Bad, no one has any fucking clue what is going to happen.  I have tried with seasons 4, 5A and 5B to predict what was going to happen and I have been so wrong on almost everything.  And the best part about Breaking Bad is that the writing (and acting) is so good that you don't even question a goddamn thing.  Walt could die in Sunday's episode and I might not even blink.  How great is it to be Vince Gilligan right now???

You don't need to live in the twilight zone to appreciate that the Twilight Zone on TV....  ;)

I used to follow Twin Peaks and the X Files back in the day. It's kinda hard to relate to those series too...  :hihi:

First of all, AMM were praising both OZ and SFU.

IMO OZ did dip in quality but nothing near the abysmal decline Dexter. It was still a very good series. Might pick up Six Feet Under when I get time.

Secondly, are you'a meth dealer since you enjoy Breaking Bad? diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy? What about OZ, pushing tits? Getting raped by aryans much? Shanking homeboys?  :hihi:

As for your second comment, I only said that to Jarmo because he's FROM SWEDEN.  I am shocked that a show like The Wire was that far reaching, but as I already said, it just shows what great TV it really was.

One more episode of Breaking Bad to go.... I have to say that last episode was FANTASTIC.  Perfect "calm before the storm" episode and I still can't get over that ending!  Dropping the theme music during the show for the first time!  Using Grey Matter to spark Walt into .... who know's what!  It's going to be a great finale.

I really appreciate little things like Walt picking out the glasses that we've seen him wearing in the flashforwards earlier in the season, can't wait!

Couldn't agree more! Sucks that I have a 10 hour work day on monday before I can watch it. Might set my alarm an hour earlier so that I can watch the finale before work.

I think that sparked Walt into full Heisenberg mode!

My hands down favourite show - Doctor Who. Fantastic escapasim, pure fun, never takes itself to seriously. But always superbly acted, written etc... The perfect format too. The Doctor's TARDIS can take him to any time and/or place in history. The show can be sci fi, drama, action, comedy or all of the above at once. Plus no-one ever has to reboot it whenever it comes back, cos part of the appeal is when one Doctor dies (ie actor leaves or gets moved on) he just regenerates.

Haha, Sunday's Eastbound and Down was so uncomfortable to watch.  I keep waiting for something awful to happen to Kenny's children.  I was certain with April getting blackout drunk and Kenny snorting lines with a bunch of strangers that those kids were doomed. 

Currently my two favorite shows are The Shahs of Sunset and The Good Wife.

Orange is the new black is pretty good!

Also started watching Lilyhammer during the holidays. Pretty good as well, just started the second season it feels better than the first.

Fun that u like Lilyhammer (since I live here:-)) Not the biggest fan of the show myself though. It's fun enough, and the producers deserve cred for what they achieved, but we norwegians are still miles behind our neighbours when it comes to movie and TV.

We got Game of Thrones for christmas, but haven't got into it yet. Is it worth watching?

Game of Thrones is great! Almost worth all the hype it gets.

Well, first of all i like the crimes, such as Beck and Wallander. Love Hamilton (well, havent watched him since I was in my teens, but loved it then). The movie Ondskan, Millennium-triology. All this is based on books, so writers deserves most of the cred maybe. Recently watched Tork inte t?rar utan silkehansker. That was a touching story.

Is it embarrasing to like Anna Pihl (danish). Both of our former owners are ahead of us...

Favorite show right now is probably Bob's Burgers. This cartoon never fails to make me laugh hard.

Tonight's Walking Dead was great. Banshee and True Detective were both awesome this season. TD is an all time great already!

Yeah it was right up until the last episode. so underwelming it almost ruined the whole experience for me. couldn't believe it had such a cheap and easy ending to it.

While i admit the finale wasn't great... i was happy that the neither of them were involved, or that the yellow king was this ghost or something supernatural

it was just simply they finally caught one of the real bad guys... but the show was more about their bromance than anything else

Been a few months since I posted anything here.

Six Feet Under was really good! Finale up there with the likes of Sopranos and Breaking Bad.

Second season of Orange is the new Black was pretty good. Lead charachter is annoying and worthless though.

Fargo is the best show of 2014, craps all over True Detective.

Gomorra La Serie. Amazing series about the mafia in naples. Close to tying Fargo as best of 2014.

The current 24 has actually been alright. It has been trimmed down to 12 hours, so you might like it more.

One embarassing thing I have been watching is Wentworth, the Australian drama. I was a fan of Cell Block H back in the day, and Wentworth has been amazing. I consider myself a closet fan  :hihi:

The way I see it, Jack Bauer's a lot like Axl. 
First of all, he's the best at what he does.  He's talented as all hell. 
Second, he gets attacked from every goddamned angle imaginable.  Every time he does something positive, he gets shit on. 
Third, neither of them really has anyone they can trust...with one exception it seems for both.  For Bauer it's Chloe.  For Rose it's Beta.
Fourth, each seem to periodically go into long periods of hiding.

We watched True Blood from start to finish, which I enjoyed. It's a silly show, but the characters keep it going, even when the storylines start to get bad later on.

Me other arf has also got me watching that Catfish TV show, which has been interesting. The last series wasn't great though, too much influence from MTV I think

Started watching Game of Thrones, not quite clicking with it yet, too much too early with that.

Watched most of The Strain season 1, seemed ok, but too icky. Not a gore fan

My wife and I watched (suffered through) Under the Dome. 
It started out okay, but it wasn't long until it got sooo ridiculously bad, that it was actually funny.
Between the bad acting (with the exception of Big Jim Renne, who was actually quite good) the rest of the cast sucked ballz...and the writing was akin to some of the worst episodes of 1970-era Scooby Doo!

For those who never saw "Fringe" back in the day, that was a show that got better with age.  If ya like sci-fi, that was good stuff.

We just finished up season 2 of Halle Berry's Extant.  It's been okay...I like the concept much more than the execution of the show.

I watch Extant too, and I would agree with concept is better than the show itself, but I have enjoyed it nonetheless

I've started watching Grimm, on Season 2 now. It sort of has a fantasy edge too it, like Once Upon a Time, but I am enjoying it thus far. I have watched all the Once Upon a Times, because I am a fan of Robert Carlyle, and I like his whimsical character in it, but the whole Pan story spoiled it a little, and the new season still has alot to prove.

I've also been going through old seasons of the Fall Guy, on season 2 of that as well. Just a memory lane thing.

Supernatural Season 11 feels different to the other series. I am still enjoying it, it is just coming across as strange, like someone else is directing it. The budget feels like it's been cut as well. Not as many special effects

Almost up to speed on Grimm as well. Season 4 not quite as good as the previous 3.

I think BoJack Horseman on Netflix is one of the best written and most tonally interesting shows to come along in a long time. It's hard to do cynical comedy that still has heart and emotion but by God do they pull it off.

Agree.  I think this season was a nice rebound from last ... despite 'Allison' being a MAIN character.  Not sure why her character just doesn't work for me.  I tend to think that it's the actress' portrayal that doesn't work.  On paper, her story line and how they show her intertwined with the other characters, should work.  It doesn't, IMHO.

Note:  Don't know if the rest of the world gets to see the same episodes at the same time I do, so I don't want to go into any details.

I think its so lame the writers dont have the balls to go through with certsin things. Like the attack in berlin. That would be good tv and sth memorable. Instead they take the easy way out with carrie saving the day. How fucking lame.
