Title: Little update on my site Post by: spookeend on June 27, 2012, 08:32:25 AM Well, as the title suggests....
www.spookeend.nl/gnr I have some (not really wanted) free time on my hands, and thought i should upgrade my site a bit. In the past i have had some trouble with the bandwith because of the books and other downloads i had on, so i had to remove those. What did i do then? Tweaked the lay-out a bit.... Well, i upgrade as many images as possible. Many were photographed again, in better quality and uploaded in higher resolution. Items that i took the images from by myself are up in size 1000x1000 at 150 DPI. This gives more then enough to read and inspect most items really well. Then, i once started figuring out what was on all those boots. Turns out that what is on the back, is not always on the disc..... Many have same sources, so now it is easy to find what boots are similar to other boots. So now you can, once a bootleg is selected, click on a link to see what label was used, what the source is, and find boots with the same content. And, i have started photographing official released items, and hoping to get them online the same way as the bootlegs anywhere in the next time.... (year orso... hopefully) leave some comments if you want.... Feedback is always appreciated Title: Re: Little update on my site Post by: troccoli on June 27, 2012, 01:07:05 PM Awesome - I'll have to check it out!
Title: Re: Little update on my site Post by: FernandoR on June 27, 2012, 07:00:15 PM I love your site
Title: Re: Little update on my site Post by: eragon on July 02, 2012, 01:12:13 PM I saw some classic G N' R bootleg vinyl (november rain, come on feel the noize, halloween at the horizon...) at the metal market at Graspop. The only downside was the price, 60-70 euro's per bootleg.
Title: Re: Little update on my site Post by: spookeend on July 03, 2012, 12:47:20 PM that is steep.
They pop up often enough to get for less, but, if in really good condition, above 50 / 60 euro for a double lp boot and with gatefold sleeve is seen more often lately. Maybe, but are they worth the money? Title: Re: Little update on my site Post by: spookeend on July 04, 2012, 05:51:28 AM well, most you can get online nowadays, but the november rain bootleg has nice demo's on. Many can be found on several boots, but this has a good collection all together.
The halloween one, i am trying to figure out what is all about that one. here is the info i have on that one now, i wish to learn more about this, i have it too. Quote This is called this because the concert was recorded on Halloween?s eve, in a bar called The Horzion. The bootleg was most likely made in the US, because i can?t find any link to Australia, besides that it is mentioned on the back. It is a nice gate-fold sleeve, full color, and the discs have nice solid look and feel. Full and complete disc-centers. The sound is good, but it is not perfect at all. Low parts and high tones make it hard to hear sometimes, but overall, a good listen. The tracklist on the disc-centers is what is on the discs. The setlist on the back is from the ?Halloween? show. The discs have the correct name, but the content is 1987-12-30, Perkins Palace, Pasadena, CA, US, the same as on the bootleg ?Bad Boys, Great Noize?. It?s all a bit confusing, and i am trying to figure out what is wrong. If you have this bootleg, please check your discs and let me know. I know about the Halloween one because i had a copy on cassette from that show. It's the show from The Horizon in 1987 filled up with some songs from Pasadena 1987. To me it was a bit expensive only because they are unofficial. Title: Re: Little update on my site Post by: spookeend on July 04, 2012, 04:30:33 PM ow, i do agree they are expensive. Don't get me wrong, in the collectors world for a little while now.....
It's just, other then providing music, these days getting a bootleg, or nice live recording has become very easy. So, for a collectible, that is other then cd's, not really easy to reproduce or copy, you get fairly unique and genuine items. And, since they are not being copied, so they don't reproduce and get larger in numbers, the prices will stay somewhat more stable as with dvd or cd (avi or mp3) So, other then the content that is on, it has become more of a collectible as a source for the (hard to find, back in the days) music alone. |
