We?ve got an update from the Tool camp regarding the band?s long-awaited fifth studio album! Posted on Oct. 23 at Tool?s official website, a lengthy testimonial has been made public detailing the album?s progression: (...) "Shortly after I arrived, before taking to their respective instruments, Adam suggested that everyone should first have a listen to what they had recorded during the previous session in order to make sure that all were in agreement with certain recently added sections. And listen they did. In fact, to give you some idea ? my parking meter expired twice before they were done. And judging from the smiles on their faces, it seemed that, for the most part, Danny, Adam and Justin liked very much what they were hearing and that after some finishing touches, the ?epic? tune would be ready for Maynard to do his thing. (During some of the more melodic passages, I was trying to envision the vocals which, to me, brings it all together.)" (...) Title: Re: TOOL Post by: Gunner80 on January 13, 2014, 02:04:31 AM You forgot to put a period at the end of your statement buddy. Nice try though. And my statement stands, Tool fucking sucks.
Title: Re: TOOL Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on January 15, 2014, 12:17:30 PM You just proof, that you're a total idiot. Good for you.
Title: Re: TOOL Post by: COMAMOTIVE on April 18, 2014, 10:56:09 AM Hear the new one is close
Looking forward to it - 10,000 days was a pretty intense effort Title: Re: TOOL Post by: axlrosegnr on April 19, 2014, 03:11:01 AM You forgot to put a period at the end of your statement buddy. Nice try though. And my statement stands, Tool fucking sucks. Haha, agreed. Saw them live once. If I wanted to see a singer hide in the dark behind the drumset the entire time, I'd just go to a laser light show instead and save some cash. Got to see Tool in 2001 and that is what Maynard did. He was on a small platform next to the drum kit. Stayed there, didn't go anywhere else on the stage. It was weird, as the show went on he took more of his clothes off. By the time the show was over he was in his underwear. About six months before seeing Tool I got see Perfect Circle. He was a little more active but came really came across as a condecsending smart ass. (the Perfect Circle show really did suck) Tool was ok though. Title: Re: TOOL Post by: overmatik on April 21, 2014, 02:55:20 AM If you go to a Tool concert expecting Maynard to behave like a regular frontman then of course you will be disappointed. I have never been to a Tool concert, but I am sure that I would love the experience. By the videos I have seen the light show is great, and you have three of the best rock instrumentalists in the world playing at the forefront, with Danny drums at the center. If you are a real Tool fan this is more than enough.
Title: Re: TOOL Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on April 23, 2014, 09:48:41 AM It's funny when idiots try to judge tool. Especially if they have a southern flag as their avatar which proves their lack of intelligence anyway

Title: Re: TOOL Post by: overmatik on April 25, 2014, 11:55:25 AM It was nice seeing Justin and Danny at the Golden Gods, too bad the band didn't perform.

Title: Re: TOOL Post by: sky dog on September 14, 2015, 02:56:10 PM from Rolling Stone today...Maynard sounds a little irritated. :hihi:
So, last question... what's up with the new Tool record? I write lyrics and melodies to music. If I don't have music, I can't. Quote He acknowledges that there was indeed humor in the Tool albums. But as with any time he's asked about Tool, his answers quickly become curt. A hint of exasperation creeps into his voice and he exhales heavily through his nose. "Yeah, it's there," he says. "But people miss it because they're so focused on the other bullshit." He shakes his head. "It's lost. Insufferable people . . . It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up." Did he have to corral the other band members to play this one show in 2015? "No, they had to con me into it." Deftones is also playing the festival. Are we going to hear "Passenger," the Deftones song featuring Keenan guesting on vocals? Keenan hasn't performed it live in more than a decade. He shakes his head vigorously. Then the million-dollar question: When's the next Tool album coming out? "There's nothing to say," he says. "I can't." /jarmo Title: Re: TOOL Post by: AxlsMainMan on October 28, 2015, 11:53:03 AM Thanks for the update, Jarmo. I found their ultra-rare demo tape floating around the internet, for those interested:
