Guns N' Roses Announced To Headline At Graspop Metal In Belgium !@

The organisers of Belgium's largest heavy metal festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, have announced that American rock legends Guns N Roses will be wrapping the festival up this year, as they will be headlining the event on Sunday 24th. The organisers have also announced that As I Lay Dying has had to pull out of the festival after cancelling their European tour, but also confirmed that Cannibal Corpse, Machine Head, Gotthard, Adrenaline Mob, Sebastian Bach, Black Veil Brides and The Treatment will perform at the festival. Graspop Metal Meeting will take place in Dessel, Belgium from June 22nd - 24th and will feature the following lineup, with more to be announced shortly:

Motorhead are always great live. I'm sure Del James know them, I vaguely remember a UK tour years and years ago with Motorhead and Del James was there in some capacity. Europe, Bach and Machinehead are all great live.

Killswitch Engage were not to my taste though last time I saw them. I have also never heard of the Jon Oliva project. I liked Savatage, they were a great rock opera band.

What a show... Am still recovering after a few hours of sleep, will write a proper review later today.

The band was is excellent mood, Axl kept making jokes and goofy poses here and there, it was priceless.

And what a voice. Better than Antwerp two years ago IMO. I like the clean singing in some parts.

The only thing I'd say is the crowd... Where I was standing there was plenty of fuckers screaming names. Don't know why you go to a show to do that.

About the fuckers screaming names...that's excactly why I don't like festivals.
(hence why I drove to Rotterdam to see GnR instead of going to Graspop in my own country)

From the mix position on I thought the crowd was lame & boring, in the front they looked pretty wild though...
Thrilled to see a great review in one of the Belgian newspapers who used to take it down even before showtime, they enjoyed the show! : ok:

The review I read this morning (Het Nieuwsblad) was also quite positive. Still they couldn't help but saying Axl's voice wasn't as great as last time in Graspop  ???

Good thing that the Belgian press is also getting more positive on Guns n' Roses. Before it was just pathetic.

It was pathetic indeed, the morgen took it down 2 days upfront though, full of misconception and the usual bs.
Good show last night, kinda sad it's the last one for me of this tour unless I figure out something ... glad I was there ;-)

'De Morgen' can only write positive reviews about bands nobody knows and cares about.  If you dare to be succesful or have a bit of an attitude they have to take you down. Unless it's dEUS or other shitty bands like Franz Ferdinand :hihi:

I had an awesome time with my bro! It was really special seeing my favorite band from so close! I was in the left section, front right, great experience!

Unfortunately there where also some assholes where I was standing, you know....there was some guy yelling for Slash, it really gets old....., ::) so I told him to shut up, didnt hear him again.  :) I did meet a nice Belgium fan so that was cool, and people singing along to the new songs as well.

Axl tried to give his mic at the end of PC to 'that guy', handed it to security to make sure it got to the right person in the audience...but there was a discussion between some people in de audience and the security? Wasn't looking too good... In the end it seemed that a girl got the mic instead of the guy? Seemed a bit weird? Felt sad for the dude...

Further notes...umm...Bumblefoot threw a pick at our side but didn't catch it..  :(
Hopefully I'll catch a gnr guitar pick one day! I did find some confetti in my pants just a few hours ago tho, lol  ;D

Anyways, again what a wonderful experience it was! I almost couldn't stop smiling, dancing, singing and making devil horns, thanks GNR!

I almost forget: when the intro started, few people had a clue it was on! lmao, imagine people just sitting around us, waiting patiently like the rest..... then......the intro starts...my bro and me looked at eachother with a smile: 'yeah, its happening!' you know....with the fist in the air, making horns, clapping and all..... People around us just....sat....kept sitting....they had no clue....We were like: 'wtf is wrong with you people, it's happing, come on get up!' haha, the best thing was: they just looked at us like: 'huh?' great facepalm moment!  ;D

It was a great show! My friend who was very skeptic (read: negative) about the 'new' Guns also enjoyed the show very much. His words and I quote: 'I saw a band today who enjoyed themselves and did a great job, unlike 2006 at Graspop'

'bout the voice remarks we read in the press, it's partially true: there were indeed some parts were Axl 'failed' but mostly it was OK, even more than just 'ok'.
I was there the whole weekend, and also other frontman 'fail' often during their live sets, but nobody cares about a false note here and there (if it is not constantly)....but Axl is like, yeah, the biggest rock star out there, so it's normal he is getting strickter judged than most other artists. It's not a big deal.

Great show at Graspop Metal Meeting.

Got a bit chilly in the late evening, but that didn't seem to matter.

Oke it takes me a week to make an account on this site but finally I have one.

I wanna clear something up. A guy before said there was a guy who wants the microphone, but it was a girl who gets the microphone.

Well I am the guy who has got the microphone. And the girl was my girldfriend :p So there wasn't any fight or something.

There were just some people in the back who wants to take the microphone too. Than the security takes us over the railing for safety reasons.

So Axl ruleeeessss!

That's what we saw, a bunch of people who got in a fight after Axl gave you the microphone. Glad you were save by that time. But it's ridiculous that some people are so jealous that another one got it, so jealous they'd even fight for it....

Well... I don't know much about computers and this was the easiest way for me.
The pictures I made in Rotterdam are all over the internet, and there were even people who claimed they took them...
I don't care about my pictures being showed or whatever, if they just add the right credits.

Yes, they would punch us for the microphone so the security saved us.
I maked a text for Axl: "Axl, Can I get your microphone". But after 2 songs the security taked away my text.
But Axl reminds it at the end of the show and gave me the microphone :-)

Have to agree, although it's completely her own decision and we all have to respect it. But I never do this to my own photos, as I want people to share, enjoy and save them onto their computer. It's not a big deal, only GN'R fans are going to care about these photos, so why not let them enjoy them to their fullest content.

Just my 2cents...

I don't care about people enjoying my pictures and saving them, but I saw my Rotterdam pictures with credits from different people, and that's not what I want.

I thought that was really cool of Axl, congratz with the mic man!

A guy in Rotterdam also had a banner, and Axl gave him the mic.
