I'm thinking about going alone, will be the first time i'll go watch them on my own... So if anyone wants to meet before the show, i'm up for it!

3FM presents Guns N' Roses! How cool is that and how cool is it to hear GN'R on 3FM radio everyday (today You Could Be Mine was played) while giving away free tickets to the show? I know, they didn't give a sh't for some years and that doesn't really matter for the fans, but it's refreshing and nice to hear positive signals sent to a mainstream audience - the legendary GN'R music deserves no less.

Accidently I was already going to Rotterdam for a Theo Maassen (stand-up) show the saturday before so it's gonna be a weekend Rotterdam with 2 mates whom i've convinced to go see GnR with me

Thats gonna be a killer weekend: the best comedian AND the best band in the world in 3 days!  ;)

Does this Theo speak English? I'll be around and I wouldn't mind to catch some stand-up. Then of course if it's only in Dutch it could be cool as well just laughing and wondering what the fuck's going on :hihi:

Sounds cool to me, I'm staying at the "Hotel New York", which is about 20mins away from the Ahoy, so it would be nice to meet some of you there. Are there any bars around there at all, or is it a very secluded area, trying to plan a sort of pre party.

We could all meet up somewhere. just name it and I'll be there ;)

Still figuring out what to do, either drive to Holland the same day and get a room for the night or go a day up front and get 2 nights.

hi, guys, I'm new here. and I will attend Rotterdam show. but this is my first Guns show, and I've never been to Rotterdam before, so I got some questions to ask about

1. the ticket price of the show is same 60 euros, is it diffrent from infield and stand?

2. what's the time of arena door opening?

3. what time will GnR take the stage?

because I fly from China to Amsterdam, the arrived time is 7 pm, then I will take train to Rotterdam, can I catch up with the start of the show?

My English is not that good :-[, hopefully you guys could understand my question, and please give me answers? thanks a lot !!

Wholly shit! I've been bummed that the band doesn't come to Finland this year. Now this thread was bumped up, and suddenly I realized that I'm in Amsterdam from June 2nd to 5th with no schedule, free to do what I want. The distance between the cities is nothing. Just checked and the trains seem to run hourly through the night so I could bet back to Ams. to my hotel after the gig. Should I? There are still tickets left, right?

You probably will just make it in time to see GN'R, but you would have to move VERY quickly and be as fast as you can.....If you do do it, just be sure to get a taxi straight from Rotterdam Centraal, when you arrive from Amsterdam, to the Ahoy, and you may JUST be in time.

Ticketprices are all the same, standing or seating. Dunno the price for the cab, but if there?s not too much traffic you could be there in 15 minutes from the trainstation to the venue.

I've never heard of Rival Sons. What kind of band are they?

They are a blues rock band out of Cali that current existing rock bands like, but whether they take off commercially we will need to wait and see

I am in for a pre-show meet up - I am staying at a hostel near Blaak metro.

If people are travelling on metro to the gig it is 5 minutes walk away from Zuidplein station. Does anyone know the area well? I will be around about 4/5pm I would imagine.

If there is enough interest we could find a bar or google one?

Wanna to go , but my daughter go first, maybe next time they will come to The Netherlands.

Well Greg alot of boardmembers seem to be attending this show in particular, so a pre-show party seems like a must to be honest. I, like you don't know the area well, so it would be nice for someone with some knowledge of this area to recommend a great venue to have a forum members pre party.

think most fun is at the stadium and gather there with all  :beer:

We're gonna be staying in Rotterdam for days so it sucks to here it's boring there  :-\

Amsterdam is nearby and there it's great no worries you wil enjoy your stay in Holland !!
Easy to get their with train !

Zuidplein station is also a shopping mall, you can find enough spots to eat or have a drink although there are no bars. If you exit the mall at the side of ICI Paris( a perfume store) and V&D (department store) there's a bridge which leads you right across the street to Ahoy.
To reach Zuidplein station you will have to take the metro at Beurs, Blaak metro doesn't go there.

Most bars are located in the downtown area where you're staying.

if you've purchased the printable ticket then you can't exchange it. Normally they don't check the ticketholder's name unless there's a problem with scanning or something.

Yes, the barcode is what is important. 1 barcode grants access to one person, so that's basically it.

Been in Rotterdam a day now, did some sightseeing yesterday and it's a lovely city. Just the weather at the moment spoiling it, currently raining heavily in Rotterdam. I'll be wearing my Canada Tour GN'R shirt 2010 tonight, with red logo on, so if you see me say hi....... Can't wait for the show. :)

Show was stunning, was kind of shocked at how early Guns came onstage. The crowd was a bit rowdy, but it was all good natured. So good to hear Shacklers again, and Ron's owns Estranged. :) Spent the show with Derby Greg who is a great guy, and made the experience all the more better!!!... Last show on the tour for me is Paris tommorrow, it will be my 30th show, can't wait..... now to get some sleep :)

The arena was very nice as well, even Axl commented on how nice it was and he said "is this place new?"... The seating bays all had red lights coming down to the standing area. Looked awesome!!!!...

Great show by the guys! The really felt very tight and were spot on for every song.

Axl was in an amazingly good mood, haven't seen that in years. He was even telling a story during KOHD about when he was in 5th grade and was kicked ass by his teacher because he was 'doing the twist' on the teacher's table :)

3 hours long pure rock n' roll! Best thing was that the people I went to see the concert were seeing them for the first time and were amazed by the talent of the guitar players and the vocals of Axl.

What a fantastic night I had with my brother! They were on fire, making jokes, awesome! Even my parents went along to see Guns, but ofcourse...a bit older so...they had seats, hah! My father was a bit skeptic beforehand, but after they show.. he was enthusiastic and surprised how professional the band was, like a machine and the showmanship of Axl. I even might say a new fan is born  ;)

I think I just read the review you are talking about, anyway some people asked me outside while having a quick smoke before the show when it would start, I said my best guess is 10.15PM
Guess I was right, personally I think that's a common and pretty cool GN'R time. (actually most shows start 10.15 the promoters and press should know this by know)

Don't know about it being common - they started after midnight when I saw them in February.

But didn't care to bother what's the reason behind it?
People should realize that this is a massive production, when everyone is done with what they are doing and after that security + fire department gives the green light the show can begin.
Definitely not anytime sooner. Usually at 9 the opening band is halfway through there set and the venue still filling up...

We had an excellent trip from Finland. Me and a few co-workers had earned a bonus trip from work, and we had decided on Amsterdam earlier. A couple of weeks ago I realized that GNR is nearby during our trip. Got two others going with me on a sidetrip to Rotterdam, rented a car and drove there and back. Everything went just perfectly, the gig was awesome. The two friends from work aren't exactly fans, but of course knew the hits and were open to everything. They enjoyed the show immensely, too. The next day both of them went and picked up a couple of Guns cd's - the other one pushing over 50 already and not exactly "a hard rock guy".

I also bumped into Frank in Amsterdam earlier in the day, chatted a bit and took photos. I can't believe how nice he was. After the gig, when we were driving out of the parking lot, a long white limousine came from the backstage parking area and drove in front of us, windows all steamed up. I told my friend to try and find out if it's Axl, but he wasn't into ramming in the side of the limou. I was disappointed by that. Come on, It's not like the Fiat was his own or anything!

My fourth Guns N' Roses show and the best one so far. The whole thing was absolutely brilliant, but especially the things I experienced inside of me during the segment of Don't Cry and Civil War were something I can't even try to describe. I was just happy beyond belief.

Great show in Rotterdam. Great vibe in the building.

Made sure to catch Rival Sons set earlier in the evening. Very cool.

Just got back home from the Rotterdam and Paris shows, it's 04.28AM here in the UK.......and I'm just going through my masses and masses of video and photos from Rotterdam and Paris. I will upload alot more over the next few days, but I thought this picture was cool as hell.

Me and Greg (Derby Greg), went to a bar across the street from the venue, it was typically dutch. As we was sitting there we looked over at the venue, and it had a huge plasma screen, and it had video advertising GN'R for that night......and every 2 mins or so this HUGE GN'R writing would appear, and it just looked amazing in person. I'm sure you'll agree, out of my 30 shows, it was one of the best promos I've seen for GN'R outside the arena, advertising a show.  8) 8) 8)

It looked Godly to be honest... :drool:

Second best of the 6 GnR concerts I have seen by now (Lille 2010 is still at the number 1 spot)

I also would like to say 'hi' to the people I've met after the show, waiting at the back entrance in the cold and hoping to catch a glimpse of the band. Did anyone showed up after all?

I was at the back entrance, I waited for 2 hours, but didn't see the band menbers, what a pity . anyone saw them in there ?

Great show from this one.

Lots of positive energy inside the venue towards the band. Agree with the comment that Don't Cry and Civil War were some of the highlights, band were really soaring at that stage.

Lots of great band interaction on stage and nice to see everyone having so much fun. Cool venue and the pub in the Mall type place over the road does the world's greatest ribs, I sh** you not!
