Title: GN'R to play Mönchengladbach, Germany Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on January 27, 2012, 12:04:54 PM On the Facebook page of the venue's promoter they say, that they're planning to announce a GN'R show in M?nchengladbach, Germany the next few days. They wanted to do it on Wednsdey, but there were problems within the contracts, but they hope to solve them soon so that they can announce the show within the next days.

Maybe the Eurpean tour is finished on the 22nd July...who knows. But if you look from 2006 Germany has not had that many shows. There is potential and opportunity though. 80 million population with the strongest economy in Europe and great beer. Lets wait and see. If tickets are selling well for MG maybe thats the benchmark for further shows in Germany. I hope that the above cities get something organised by the promoters. GNR are top of their game. I hope Germany has the same opportunity that France and the UK is having this summer. 34 gigs so far is pretty impressive to. Onwards and upward for the summer

i'm not on facebook, twitter etc. so i want to ask if there is a chance to contact Bumble to consider maybe NOT playing his Paul Panther theme in Germany? the original theme was recently used by nazi serial killers to promote a racist dvd when doing their serial murders (9 people) from 2000-2006. its the biggest terror nazi issue in Germany we've had since the last world war and still is on news here often! quote (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pink_Panther_Theme): "In 2011 the German right wing terror group National Socialist Underground used the theme and figure of Pink Panther for a propaganda DVD promoting the racially-motivated murders committed by members of the group. I don't agree with letting some fucked up minority group take over a song, a flag or anything. but it just could leave some bad taste (just imagine a possible newspaper headline: "Guns N' Roses played the Pink Panther-Theme last night, that song was used by the nazi terror crew which leaked out in 11/2011...does Axl still have racist connections like he has in the lyrics of "One in a million"?")....newspapers LOVE to do things like that here (though GN'R propably wont get big headlines here anymore) and thats why i think that he should at least be informed about before the show, so he could make his own decisions. i dont think that song is censored or smth. similar in Germany because of this, though the connection to the racists is some common knowledge by now as it was in media big big time (and still gets "updates" as this whole thing came out in november 2011 not before). Especially when the song in question has nothing to do with them. They already took an ancient symbol and made it to be a symbol of hate. Now this? Where do you draw the line? You shouldn't play that song because of the nazis? What's next? Maybe make people of a certain religion wear a symbol on their clothing to let everybody else know their religion? Title: Re: GN'R to play M?nchengladbach, Germany Post by: 14 Yrs Of Silence on June 08, 2012, 03:58:30 PM nah, just facts, Jarmo (i could live with that though ;D). i'm not on facebook, twitter etc. so i want to ask if there is a chance to contact Bumble to consider maybe NOT playing his Paul Panther theme in Germany? the original theme was recently used by nazi serial killers to promote a racist dvd when doing their serial murders (9 people) from 2000-2006. its the biggest terror nazi issue in Germany we've had since the last world war and still is on news here often! quote (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pink_Panther_Theme): "In 2011 the German right wing terror group National Socialist Underground used the theme and figure of Pink Panther for a propaganda DVD promoting the racially-motivated murders committed by members of the group. [2] In 2012 this was referenced by attendees of a right wing street protest in Munich, using loudspeakers to air the theme as background for their protest.[3]" i sent it to ron. i think it won't hurt for him to know, so he can make his own decision about this I think that was a great thing for you guys - Limulus and xBrownstonex - to call Ron's attention to. I agree with sentiment that you shouldn't let any group take "hostage" to a song, symbol, etc; but letting Ron make an informed decision was a good call. : ok: Title: Re: GN'R to play M?nchengladbach, Germany Post by: GypsySoul on June 08, 2012, 04:08:26 PM Fernando Lebeis @FLebeis

I arrived kinda late, just in the middle of the open act cause of the rain before the show so i wasnt in a good spot. Axl said in the middle of KOHD that he's been trying to get GNR to play in Germany for the past 6 yrs but for some reasons (agents, managers) it keeps not happening. It began to rain while November Rain was on and kept rain for about half hour. The show began at 09:45 and ended at 12:15. Thank you Guns N' Roses, see you in one month. Goodnight. Title: Re: GN'R to play M?nchengladbach, Germany Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on June 10, 2012, 07:13:04 AM It started raining during November Rain, which was magical.
Then it started pouring like shit, but it was great nontheless. Axl then said he wo't be running around a lot but just do his job with singig due to the stage being wet and he didnt want to fall down. At the end of the show he said, he asked the guy up there to not make it rain, but he didnt listen to him He also mentioned that he wanted to come to germany for the past 6 years but for some reason it never happened, but is glad that he could be here now At the beginning he also asked the crowd, if they expected for him to show up. After some cheering he said: "yeah, me too" I guess the setlist was shortened because of the raining. But it was again a nonforgettable show, absolutely amazing. Everyone around me was just flashed and couldnt believe what they've just witnessed. Title: Re: GN'R to play Mönchengladbach, Germany Post by: Carol Rose on June 10, 2012, 01:48:02 PM The show in Mönchengladbach was just awesome ... I'm still high on all these impressions. Standing on the right side, right in front of DJ Ashba during the whole show. Everybody was surprised they entered the stage so early (about 9:45 pm). Axl's voice was brilliant and so was his mood. It started to rain at the end of November Rain which was kinda magic to me ... and it was pouring down when Don't Cry started. Anyway ... I didn't care about the rain and I wish they would've played even longer (show ended at 0:30 am). Only song I missed was "Patience".
