i heard a rumor on kijji, that ticketmaster had an option to buy 50 tickets? hope they announce a 2nd show..

If theres anyone else who was upset that they couldn't get tix this morning on ticketmaster (which it doesn't look like there was)  :nervous:

Well instead of paying someone more than twice the ticket cost on kijji, go to canadian music festival web site right now. Slash tweeted that they released 300 tickets to them a couple hours ago, at first i couldn't get on the site, i thought it had crashed from volume, then all of a sudden, it worked!! I got my tix!  all the best gunners..good luck!! ps. for an extra 5$ you can get access to the whole 5 day music/film/comedy festival going on that same wk end!!

Sold out, if you missed out hope for a 2nd show or get your ticket on kiji before the few decent deals are gone. some real rip offs on there, one guy wants more than 3x cost, and he says only for the next 48 hours!...moron. hope he gets stuck with it by having a 2nd show announce soon. i'm surprised theres not more people interested in this show?

Myles plays rhythm on the album according to Slash, so I figure that's the reason.

Some songs needed the 3rd guitar. I liked Bobby a lot .....

Myles and slash said he is more comfortable singing with a guitar so it makes sense. Would be cool!

No doubt Myles is playing rhythm guitar on the new album, so he''ll reproduce those parts without hassle, but can he handle playing rhythm guitar on the back catalog stuff like Bobby did?

Myles is a sick guitar player, and can play just about anything. He hides his talent very well, but he can flat out play. There is nothing in the back catalog he couldn't play probably quite easily.

The bigger issue is I don't want him playing guitar and singing. I hope they bring in a  rhythm guy to handle all that because he is more effective when not chained to the mic stand with a guitar in his hands.

Its not like Myles runs around a lot anyway. I rather see him rock the guitar. It would be cool to actually see him playing unlike some singers who just stand up there holding the guitar. I am a huge Megadeth-Mustaine fan so I would highly enjoy it!

Looks like they are bringing in another rhythm player, which I like.

Myles doesn't run around alot, but I think with any singer the vocals are better when all you have to concentrate on is singing. You can sing and play guitar at the same time, but you still are trying to do 2 things at once rather than just concentrating on singing.

Even some of the AB fans have commented on their board that Myles often times seems to perform better vocally with Slash when he just gets to focus on singing instead of double duty like in AB.

I wonder who it will be...? Gilby? Izzy? Dave Kushner...?

What does that mean that Slash is auditioning guitar players? if so then it will be someone brand new. They wouldn't need to audition Gilby and I doubt it would be Dave since he is linked to VR

Interesting to see that Little Angels will be playing on the same night - for the first time since 1994.  I remember seeing them at the Marquee in the late '80s and they were pretty good then. No idea about now though but definitely worth checking out if you're planning to go to Download anyway.

Black Sabbath have confirmed that the 10th Anniversary of Download will be their only Summer live date, due to Tony Iommi's battle with lymphoma cancer.

So as not to let the promoters and fans down, Ozzy Osbourne will now perform the majority of the previously scheduled Black Sabbath dates (both festival performances and the headlining shows) billed as Ozzy & Friends. These 'first ever' Ozzy & Friends shows will feature appearances by "special guest" musicians including Geezer Butler (who will join Ozzy for a special Black Sabbath set as a show of respect and support to their friend, Tony Iommi) and long-time former Ozzy band member Zakk Wylde. In addition, Ozzy will be accompanied by long-time collaborator and friend Slash at select shows, with other 'special guests' set to join the tour at various stops along the way.

I wonder if Slash will have a less guns heavy setlist at the festivals he plays with guns. Would be kind of embarrassing to have Myles sing the classic Gnr stuff to more or less the same crowd that will be hearing Axl sing them. Not to mention redundant. Slash's setlist will probably consist of mostly apocalyptic love tracks but still it would be awkward for two sets from two different bands to both end with Paradise City. Maybe some more VR material will make its way into the set.

That's a fair point limulus. Of course he has the right to play anything he wants. I just think it would be an awkward situation to put Myles in. I think Myles does a passable job with the guns material but it's clearly not his strongest suit.

Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) returned to this year's Slacker Canadian Music Week to participate in a celebrity interview on Friday, March 23 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada before a sold-out performance later that evening at The Phoenix Concert Theatre.

Hearing Slash play his GNR stuff again is great and I love it.

Got my tickets.  NOT happy how they split up the floor at Irving Plaza (the front floor is $32 more than the 'loge' aka back floor).  This is something that Irving Plaza has been doing with a few of their bigger shows.  My friend and I decided to hang in the back for this one.  Drink some beer and save some cash.

WAR, i dont know what you were seeing, The Main Floor was 39.50 (52.00 after service charges) and the Loge, which is the balcony at the venue was 70.00 (84.75 after service charges) so the main floor is 32.75 cheaper than the Loge, not 32 dollars more...

if anyone has an extra ticket for Irving Plaza let me know, I am a moron and forgot tickets went on sale today and they are sold out.  This is the only time I have ever done that, got too much going on right now.  :hihi:

Nope, i got them on the regular Live Nation public on sale this morning at 10am. Its cool you got the main floor for the cheaper price.

It was so weird, I was on at exactly 10am, and it said there were no tickets available. I kept trying for 5 minutes straight and still wasnt pulling any tickets. Then at 10:07 I finally pulled one main floor ticket for 50 bucks, and like a minute after I bought that one ticket, there weren't any tix available, and still arent. I dont know how anyone got tix on the regular on-sale this morning

Very interesting.... so Tuesday night Slash tweeted about the show before it was reported by Live Nation, TM, or anywhere else.  He said something about the Slashonline presale being at 10am the following morning and the link to his website showed the presale password (it was "SLASH", how creative right  :hihi:).  I made a mental note to buy them in the morning.  Of course I actually FORGOT to go at 10am and got there at 10:19am.  Luckily I had no problem grabbing 2 tickets.  I consider myself lucky now after hearing about your troubles and the fact that the show is sold out now.

Any word / rumours on more euro dates, in particular a date in Ireland. He said he was planning a UK tour, I guess a date in the Hammersmth Apollo and Donington is not a tour. So hopefully he will play a few more dates in the UK and then also do a show in Ireland.

I got my tickets.  After all the videos/interviews that I've viewed/read/posted over the years -- I've never seen Slash live.

I'm looking forward to the show. :)

I saw Slash on his last Tour- was on the rail ,small club- a foot in front of him- you will not b disappointed! He is thoroughly entertaining & never stops moving, you can see him talking thru his licks & totally living thru his Ax- hearing him play all the classic Appetite songs was incredible for a hardcore GnR fan- i Love the new GnR line-up but it's surreal to have Slash take you thru the memories of these songs- It's like he is the lead singer & the entire band (his current band) & all eyes are on him - everyone else is secondary& that's a good thing!

 Honestly it doesn't matter who else is on stage with him as long as they stay out of his way & let us enjoy his playing & showmanship. I know a lot of people think Myles is a good singer & he is, but NOT for GnR songs. He embodies zero of the qualities Axl has-no swagger, no bad-ass vibe- he's just singing in the back round like he's in some boy band- somebody like Scott Weiland does a much better job with the GnR songs & attitude. Now I have no desire to see Axl Back with Slash because the current band fucking rules & they ARE GNR! But the Slash show is an awesome nugget & I'd see it again in a heartbeat- enjoy! :beer:

got my ticket for August 4th in Huntington, NY!!!! That venue is only 10 minutes from my house! Glad he is playing so close, dont have to worry about paying a ton of money for train and subway tickets or anything like that. So pumped hes playing so close!
