Title: Robin Finck used to play bass for Duff McKagan!!!??!!
Post by: BumbleBuzz on January 02, 2012, 12:35:20 PM
I've been a GNR fan for years but I've just discovered that the same Robin Finck who used to play bass on Duff McKagan's 93 solo tour is the same man who later performed on guitar with Guns N' Roses! Apparently when McKagan performed on his UK solo tour in 1993 his touring line up consisted of Finck on bass since McKagan handled guitar and vocal duties! Is this true???

So, em, is there any record of this - I haven't got the wrong guy by mistake - and how many years/months service did Finck put in with McKagan? Is that how Finck got the job with GNR in the first place? It's just crazy to think I never knew any of this.

Never heard that story, could be though.

I remember reading Matt Sorum introduced Robin to Axl as a replacement for Slash.

Sorry, it appears due to a dodgy EBay seller, I got my material mixed up. He was trying to sell me a pick that Robin Finck apparently used in 1993 on the Duff McKagan tour. Turns out it belonged to Duff's live bassist Richard Duguary

You can find out about him here: http://www.richardduguay.com/
