Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: ben9785 on November 22, 2011, 07:42:51 AM I thought "Chinese Democracy" would have been an interesting setup for a video clip, particularly if it was inspired by the Kundun film.
I actually started visualising a video for it in my head everytime I listened to it. Don't know if it's worth sharing though. Otherwise, "Better" and "Street of Dreams" would be suitable for a video because they were released for radio play. Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: new gnr fan on November 22, 2011, 08:25:53 AM They could make a Vide to every single Song on the Album.
But i would choose these song, in that order of releasing: Chinese Democracy Better Madagascar There Was A Time Street of Dreams This I Love And maybe Shackler's Revenge Catcher in the Rye Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: Halo69 on November 22, 2011, 10:45:07 AM I would choose Better, Chinese Democracy and Catcher in the Rye or If The World (One of the 2) : ok:
Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: slasherr on November 22, 2011, 11:19:16 AM www.facebook.com/slasherr.videos or www.vimeo.com/slasherr for a few fan-made videos from Chinese Democracy
Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: GNR4L on November 22, 2011, 12:30:42 PM I would go with Better if they decided to do a video.
Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: westcoast_junkie on November 22, 2011, 01:45:30 PM Street Of Dreams, Better and This I Love...

There Was A Time Sorry Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: sworrm on November 23, 2011, 05:54:22 AM The main reason i would like some videos is a few weeks ago i was watching either mtv2 or kerrang and all day was an hour or 2 showing certain bands careers like U2 from the beginning then all Oasis videos then all GnR vids and it struck me apart from hardcore fans there is nothing to show from this era its like Guns ended after Since i dont have you, in 20 years from now it would be cool to have something from this era to show the evolution baby
Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: One.In.A.Million on November 23, 2011, 02:42:24 PM I think it's a real shame that no videos have surface officially for any song off of Chinese Democracy. I heard what Axl had to say about wanting people to hear the album without no pre concieved visual notions, and that's fine. But it's been 3 years since the release now, and I think GN'R once again have missed an opportunity to gain some promotion and record sales by releasing a music video.
I also agree with the poster who stated that it's almost as if this version of GN'R don't "exist" in a way that the earlier era of the band did. It is as if GN'R has "officially" cut off after Since I Don't Have You. I personally think it's counter productive not to release any kind of video at all for the album, and that Better video we got a glimpse of was amazing. If you think about how many music videos were released by GN'R in 87-93, and then think about how many were released between 1999-2011, it makes me totally sad. Especially how so many great moments, and music have been realised between that time, it's a damn shame we have no official means to celebrate them by. :-[ Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: Annie on November 23, 2011, 02:48:32 PM I liked the Harley commercial with all the Black Sheep, even though it was not an official video! I'll never forget singing BETTER to a group of adolescent sheep on the moors of Haworth, England. For one brief moment they were totally transfixed. I wish I had a video of that.
Title: Re: Videos for Chinese Post by: sworrm on November 23, 2011, 04:36:39 PM Oneinamillion you said what i wanted to say but with far more intelligence thanks.
im all for the anti corporate anti commercial bands, in fact thats mostly what i like and i respect Axl to the hilt for doing his own thing but it just feels to me that the Chinese Democracy sessions should be massive and heard by as many people as possible |
