For those unaware, Eddie and That Metal Show did an interview with Axl this morning.

Unless Loaded are to cancel any of their current shows, they have November fully booked, but December is wide open..

Awesome.  Imagine. Still no mention if he asked about upcoming music but I'm sure he did.  Not that it really matters anyhow.  I coulda died happy after CD but I recently find myself wondering "what if?"  I know, talk about ungrateful fans, we got more material than many others but still we want more.  Take it as a testament to the consistent quality of the music.  It's all so good and we just know there's so much more to be had.  No wonder my wife calls me a GNR-Junkie...

Great stuff! I'm one of those who don't like spoilers so that's enough details for me.

Loaded is booked across Europe in November so that's too bad.  Nov. 12th KC, wonder if there will be an opening band?

Can't believe Axl did and interview with Eddie again, let alone that Loaded may be opening for GN'R, perfect.

Things have changed alot regarding Axl's relationship with former gunners and Axl talking about various things he would never discuss or playing songs he would never play usually. It seems like Axl has finally realised that life is too short to keep things under an umbrella, and he seems to just want to let everything out the closet literally.

However, I do miss the Nu GN'R era days (1999-2007) when GN'R seemed to only exist onstage. And when Axl was out to prove himself to be GN'R's strongest link, and wanted to distance himself from GN'R's "traditional" image, as much as possible..... you can call it the Chinese Democracy era I guess. Even back in 2006, if someone would have told me that Duff's band will be opening for GN'R, I would have laughed and totally dismissed the idea as being fantasy and farfetched.

But here we are in 2011 and things are happening in GN'R land, that seemed impossible a few years back.  :-\

I don't know how to react to it, I want to celebrate and think how cool things are now. But at the same time I want to joyfully remember a time period where GN'R where mysterious, and seemed to do things in codes. And at a time where Axl was out to destroy the myth of the old band, by not only changing the bands musical direction, but also to change GN'R's whole image and appeal..... I loved that time period.  :peace:

Izzy joined them on stage in '06 though, so it wasn't that far fetched. Surprising, yes.

To be honest it would have been considered as farfetched, Izzy was always neatral with Axl through GN'R's original line-up demise. But Duff was seen publicly to be on Slash's side, and even spoke about Axl in interviews in a negatively way with Slash by his side. And in 2002, Axl spoke about Slash and Duff in a negative manner, so it was a different situation to Izzy.

Axl, Steven and Izzy all where neatral....... where as Slash and Duff went in a different direction and almost stood against Axl for being a dictator and for being the "problem" with the old band. So for us to be sitting here talking about Duff opening up for GN'R, is a much bigger deal than Izzy joining GN'R for a few songs in 2006.

If you go by the Slash tech. already being out of the band in 95, just not offically till 96, then Duff was there at least 1 or 2 years  after Slash left.

Presumably it's not that clear and cut.

Well then you know for sure Duff will play more songs with GnR on stage. Im not trying to jump too far ahead but RnR hall of shame will be calling soon. Im thinking Axl will show with old members and Slash already said he will be there  ;D

What's total crap, the fact that thousands and thousands of fans loved the time period when GN'R where starting back up, and seemed to be heading into a different musical direction (OMG, Silkworms, Riad). And the fact is, is that when Slash and Duff both formed VR in 2003, they both gave interviews where they talked about Axl in a negative light. And it was all the crap about how VR where the most dangerous band in the world, and how they together with Scott where like brothers.

So yes, I do still think that it's a huge leap from going from that, to Duff opening shows for the new incarnation of GN'R.......Why is that hard to comprehend for some people.  :D

Oh man I can't wait to see loaded hopefully they open at the Vancouver show.

If Loaded really is gonna open shows for GNR and Duff will be popping up on stage with Gnr for a song or two, then I REALLY hope we get a good quality bootleg dvd of one such an occasion..

Duff is done in the UK on November 8 and starts in Germany on November 23.  Maybe he can do some U.S. shows in between.

They have dates in South America from the 12th till the 20th.

This is great news if true. Reading "between the lines" through the years there were always slight clues IMHO that the 2 of them respected each other and valued whatever friendship/relationship they had once had. As has been pointed out earlier- Duff was NEVER fired. He stuck around the longest and then made a professional decision to go in a different direction musically and develop other interests outside of music. I can't say for certain obviously- but seems to me that's the kind of thing Axl would have respected.

Whatever the case- great to see Axl and Duff providing such an obvious WIN-WIN for their fans. Loaded is a fun band and possibly seeing Duff and Axl (and perhaps even Baz) with the rest of current day GN'R backing 'em up crank out a few tunes together would obviously be EPIC for anybody lucky enough to witness it in person. :beer:

Axl's comment could have been taken out of context?  Perhaps he meant that Loaded may open up some shows in the future....perhaps not on this current leg of the tour.

It could be possible that Loaded open's in Dec.  I could see them play the Vancouver show and if there's a Seattle show since he's from there.  Can't wait to see what happens   :)

Duff: I'm not sure I heard something about it, probably like you or someone else has heard. When it appeared on the internet I was on tour there are three or four weeks, so I had time to see what's going on in that direction.

REG: But no one talked to you about it?

Duff: A little, yes, more interviews. I do not like to talk ... Let the tour is over in a few days, that among the concerts here in South America and Germany ( at the end of the month ), I'll see what's going on.

This is pure shit... Izzy was Axl's harshest critic ever.

When Izzy first left the band, he stated that one reason was because Axl had become a dictator like Adolf Hitler.  That was Izzy's exact comparison.  In the same interview, he also fumed about Axl going on hours late every show.

Granted, after the mid 90s, Izzy stopped talking about Axl... hell, he stopped talking publicly period.  But your assertion that Izzy was ALWAYS neutral is a complete untruth.

In Axl's recent interview with Eddie Trunk, he (Axl) claimed that Izzy once referred to him as the Ayatollah in jest and the media ran with it from there.
