Eddie and the guys from That Metal Show canceled their plans for the weekend to head to do some "super secret TMS business" and headed to Florida..I'm guessing to cover the GNR tour/Interview Axl...Place your bets..

I tweeted him yesterday asking him if that's what the secret business was. He never responded though. It's the first thought, or should I say hope, that crossed my mind. The next season of TMS kicks off in a few weeks I believe, so it could make some sense.

I believe Ron does his show every so often so maybe he's gonna try to hook up with Ron.

Hope they don't let him anywhere near Axl.

Yeah, and even moreso, Eddie is friends with the guys in Buckcherry.  AND, Josh Todd and Keith Nelson are both scheduled as guests for next season of TMS, which has already been taped.  Maybe they're doing a little follow up with the boys in Buckcherry with a little added bonus of GNR mixed in?

What else is going on in Florida this weekend that they'd be down there for?

I HIGHLY doubt they would drop everything and do the super secret thing to talk to Ron..I'd bet my next paycheck Axl and Eddie get together over the next couple days..

Well that confirms they are indeed there, and we can only assume it's at least partially related to That Metal Show, since that's what Eddie said was the reason for the trip.  To what extent remains to be seen.

I wouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Eddie tweeted that he just saw Axl for the first time in 5 years and said "hi". Doesn't sound like a groundbreaking interview is on the horizon. The next season of TMS has already been taped, so anything extra out of this trip I'd expect to be minor at best.

What I took from Eddie's tweets was a "man this will suck if I don't get to talk to Axl" and "I can't wait for the show to start"
I guess some folks read it as "Axl's a real jerk for making me wait"  I just didn't see it that way.
Speaking of waiting..I don't care how late the show starts I just wish I knew WHEN it would start.  I always show early just in case.  I mean What if?  I'm always pumped entering the venue but waiting is draining.  Oh well, I'll be in my seat at 9:30 in KC.

I remember at MSG in 2002 Axl took the stage at like 9:30.  People showed up in the middle of the show expecting Axl to not be on stage until 11 or so.  They were pretty upset.

My fear exactly!  Tacoma 2002, everybody thought it was a conspiracy to make the fans spend more money on concessions, but in Portland 2006 they just shut down those concessions so there went that theory.   I think Axl sings when Axl's ready to sing.  I'm cool with that cause that's what I'm there to see.  I just wish they'd schedule the show for 11pm or so then I'd KNOW I wasn't going to miss something.

last on camera interview i remember is from 2006 VMA's with John Norris.  Last proper sit down TV interview I remember is in the summer of 1992 for the GNR/Metallica Live and Loud Special on MTV with Tabitha Soren?  Can anyone think of one after this?

I do this for a living, if those appearance releases were not signed before Trunk and his team left Florida someone will be fired.  There is the possibility that Axl would have final say on the edit, but if that were the case they would not have given an air date already.  Also having a say on the edit is very rare and would be an extra pain in the ass for Axl, I'm assuming he signed off on Trunk using whatever he wanted from the interview

Also you are right, I dont understand how this Trunk dude is famous, he is god awful, but at least he seems to get Axl to talk now and then, so thumbs up to him for that.

Honestly, if Sebastian hadn't been in studio, that legendary interview would've been terrible and prob lasted 10 minutes. Trunk had terrible questions, He didn't GET some of Axl's brilliant humor/wit such as when he said Piazza played for the "Pirates" Trunk said, NO the padres.... Completely oblivious to a classic zinger

That's sorta what I've been trying to say (except for the 'pull the interview' part).

I 100% support and believe that every business decision Axl makes is what he believes, at the time, to be in the best interest of GNR "Incorporated" and his loyalty n' commitment to everyone and everything therein.

Obviously, sometimes I do not agree with those decisions but I totally understand that it is a business and that I don't know the entirety of the situation and, as in any business, sometimes you have to do things just because "the needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few or the one."

Like I said, I 100% trust that Axl is doing what he believes to be best for GNR and us fans.

yeah he is a big fan boy who gets lost in interviews sometimes and asks terrible questions.  But i have to give credit where credit is due, he flew to Florida last minute to get an interview that is almost impossible to get.  I'm sure it cost VH1 a pretty penny to do all that last minute and to have a crew on standby for however long it was, but it is the biggest musical "get" of the year.  It should do some great things for their show.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Eddie Trunk, he seems to be the only one who Axl grants interviews to, so he deserves an Emmy for "That Metal Show".

Trunk should feel honored to get this interview.  People who love him and hate him want to hear what he has to say.  VH1 Classic should partner up with ABC 20/20 or something like that!

i do agree though, in 06 axl's kind of subtle wit was definetly missed by  the big oaf trunk on several occasions

in their defense, they each come up with a seasons worth of top 5 lists in a matter of minutes before they shoot the shows. So its not like Jim had on the Crue shirt when he was making his list. Eddie admitted that was an oversight, but everyone would have oversights if you're only given a limited amount of time.

As for the interview, I'm pretty sure they will give the bulk of, if not the full hour to Axl and GNR. I'm pretty sure Eddie tweeted awile back that the Slash episode was going to be the premiere ont the 11th, but obviously an Axl interview would trump that since it's so rare.

Major props to Eddie and the TMS crew for this score. And I appreciate and enjoy what Eddie does. He's a true rock fan and he wears it on his sleeve. He's very well respected in the rock community outside of Ozzy and the guys in Kiss.  Can't wait for this interview.  Hopefully I'll have power back by then. F'ing SnowNado in October sucks balls.

I thought Eddie did a good job when Axl came in to do his radio show in 2006-it was obvious he did not want to piss him off by asking about Slash or anything, but he hit all of the major bullet points-I actually thing TMS would be better with just Eddie Trunk, but it's overall not a bad show.

I stayed up to hear this last night, and I'm glad I did!  Eddie talked a bit about his trip down there and played album version of Chinese D.  They then played the clips from the VH-1 Classic interview.  He and Jim Florentine spoke glowingly about Axl's performance in Miami, and spoke about Axl being cool, down to earth, and funny.

I can't wait to see this interview.  Axl's not your typical hermit/recluse.  The guy's got such a killer sense of humor and ability to communicate thoughtfully and thoroughly...part of the reason in my opinion he's had so much shit thrown his way (with much of it sticking) has been his unwillingness to speak publicly.  I'm just glad he's finally starting to get out there again...hopefully it's not the only interview he'll do for another 5 years!   :peace:

GUNS N' ROSES singer and sole original member Axl Rose taped an hour-long interview with VH1's "That Metal Show" following the band's show in Miami on October 29, the second of its newly launched U.S. tour. The talk will air on Friday, November 11 as part of VH1 Classic's "National Metal Day" and will also include a live performance of "Live And Let Die" from the Florida concert.

On last night's (Friday, November 4) edition of Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM, Trunk ? who co-hosts "That Metal Show" ? talked about the interview and played a few teaser clips for listeners (hear audio in YouTube clip below).

After Trunk told Axl that he was impressed with the singer's performance throughout the three-hour set, calling Rose's vocals flawless and "spot on," Rose responded by saying, "I had a good night. It's not an anomaly, but I did have a good night, and I have been taking care of my voice. I do warm-ups before the show, I do warm-downs after the show, I do those religiously."

When asked about his pre-show rituals and preparations, Rose said, "Well, everybody in this band has their own physical regimen they have to go through . . . I do a lot of cardio when I can, or when I can force myself to. But yeah, you've got to get your wind up, and you've got to get your head in the right place and go out and do it."

Trunk also spoke about other vocalists who painted themselves into a corner by singing classic songs in a higher register and then having to perform them live 20 or 30 years later. "I did that with 'You Could Be Mine'," Axl admitted, before adding that "The first time I had to play that live, I was like, 'What did I do? What have I done, I have to sing this live now!'"

Rose was reportedly asked during the session about the band's possible induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the chances of hearing new music, his notorious lateness at concerts, the current GUNS lineup and more.

i think Axl said the same thing in Jan 2006 at Korns cd release party about hearing new music, but i don't expect another official release anytime soon, but maybe a new song or two played live wouldn't be out of the question, sure would be an amazing surprise!!

Eddie's sure milking this one for all it's worth, haha. I can't wait to watch the show and see Axl and DJ. But can't help but think I wish it was a different person interviewing Gn'R.....now Eddie seems to think he has some sort of credibility. After all, him and Axl have a "History" together (as Eddie put it) IMO Eddie is more happy about the attention this brought to himself than actually interviewing Axl. Eddie's a tool.

It's funny, because most artists don't wanna do anything after a gig, let alone after a three-hour set. But he was looking and sounding at the top of his game at 5:30 in the morning.

He stressed a number of times that this tour is really important for him, to finally once and for all establish the line-up and this group the way he really wants to. He feels he's got a good team around him.

Axl has stated many times that he doesn't do many interviews cause he doesn't think any one really wants to hear what he has to say; when he talks the way he does in interviews like this, I think everyone would want to hear what he has to say. There is a high level of love and respect I have for him that he doesn't appear in interviews and has not talked about many things that have gone on, but when he does, it is just great to hear what he has to say, cause most of the time it just makes you realize how much he has to offer on all these issues, and how his point of view is so rarely heard or thought about.

I can't believe how the media spins everything about Axl and that a lot of people buy it.  Just watching that short clip you can tell Axl is a good guy and has a sense of humor and that people like him.

Dude.......we know you want a Chinese Democracy 2. Every one of your 96 posts said so. No one here knows when a new album will be out, what will be on it, what it will be called, if it's part of this so-called trilogy ect.

yeah. new cds is what gets me pumped more than a live show. for me it's about going into a store and purchasing a new cd. turning on the radio in my car hearing the latest single. turning on FUSE with my TV remote seeing a new music vid. going to the city seeing my fav band on the cover of rolling stone magazine. this is what gets me going as a rock fan.

there's conflicting reports on new music with the band. some say there is no trilogy. some say it's a double. others say plans change and the band changed. i'm not getting good vibes on a new album. i want a new album of new music more than anything. at the same time i don't want brain, buckethead, and finck to be removed from the album.

i don't have good vibes about it. there's really not any straight answers. just lots and lots of confusion!

Axl is the best singer,performer and he is really funny...

He also said that the late start thing started back in 91 when he didnt want to tour at that time but was forced by the managment.

I listened to Eddie's Sirius/XM show on Monday (when I finally got power back after 10 miserable days). On the late starts he said that people can and will feel however they want about it, but when Axl does take the stage it's well worth it. He puts all he has into the performance and plays for 3 hours or so.

Interviewed On 'That Metal Show'

NOVEMBER 9, 2011

About two weeks ago, That Metal Show host Eddie Trunk got word from Axl Rose's new manager Peter Katsis that the Guns N' Roses frontman might be interested in appearing on the program. "It was all pretty loose," Trunk tells Rolling Stone. "They said, 'Well, we have a pretty good chance we can get Axl to you if Eddie's there and the crew is ready to go.' [VH1 Classic] was willing to roll the dice and give it a shot."

Trunk and the crew ? including co-hosts Don Jameson and Jim Florentine ? flew down to Miami, where G N' R would be performing, on October 29th. They arrived at American Airlines Arena at 3 p.m. and set up a set in the Miami Heat's dressing room. Axl arrived at around 8 p.m. and didn't take the stage until midnight, wrapping up the show at 3 a.m. "This whole time, there was a lot of conflicting information about whether or not the interview was going to happen," says Trunk. "So we interviewed the rest of the band, opening act Buckcherry and members of the crew so we'd definitely come back with a show, even if the Axl interview didn't work out."

At 5:45 a.m., Axl walked onto the set with new Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba. Trunk interviewed him for an hour and a half. "In a perfect world, with an interview of that magnitude, we'd like to be a little more fresh and not coming off 24 hours with no sleep," says Trunk. "But Axl was great. He was alert and awake. That's Axl time. He was in great spirits and friendly and much how I remember him from when I interviewed him on my radio show five years ago."

They covered a lot of ground during that 90 minutes. "He's still a staunch believer in Chinese Democracy," says Trunk. "He believes that the record is finding new fans and he feels that the material from that is going down better and better in the live show." Axl was less committal when asked about new music. "When I asked him about a new record he just said, 'I'd love to at some point, we'll see.'"

In this exclusive clip, Axl explains why he usually takes the stage so late.  "I think we?re doing better," he says.  "A lot of this goes way, way back to '91 when we were super late going onstage. That really has more to do with that I shouldn?t be on tour. I went on tour for three reasons, our manager had booked a tour without authorization and then I?m going to be sued for it. He also told me that if Slash does heroin, it?s my fault. And Slash is pressuring me. I should not have agreed to that tour."

Guns N' Roses are on this year's ballot for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If they get inducted, the ceremony is next April in Cleveland. "His attitude about that was, 'We'll see how it plays out if we're inducted. If that happens, we'll see what lineup of the band they like and what members they want and don't want,'" says Trunk. "He also said that he didn't know much about it. He did say that inducting Elton John back in 1994 was a big thrill for him. He took the whole thing as an honor and said, 'We'll see how it plays out.'"

They're just playing shows to be playing shows. Spreading the band to more people. It doesn't make a lot of sense compared to what most bands do, but whatever.

They haven't toured the U.S. since the album came out in 2008.  It makes perfect sense, last show I saw they didn't play Sorry, Shackler's, This I love.  Being a fan I want to see those songs played and a couple new one's added to the setlist Don't Cry, Estranged.  When Guns is ready to put out a new album they will put one out, until then enjoy this North American Tour.

chinese democracy was released in 2008. robin finck mysteriously left the band. chinese democracy song was released on radio. the only song i think played on radio stations. i haven't heard sorry or shackler's on radio yet. i respect the tour. i think there should be a new album in stores to support it. it's 2011. a new album, single, and music video should be out for the tour!

This I love is actually a Axl Rose song, with Robin playing the solo.  Don't Cry and Estranged I meant are added new to the setlist since the last time I saw them.  Doesn't matter what year the song came out... they still haven't toured under their latest album.

He knows that everything he says will be picked apart and analyzed. If he even hints at new material being planned for release, some will start the "count down" to its release.

i'm on planet earth. i agree with you. it's a cool tour. but at the same time it would be cool to have an album out. hey. mick jagger put out record after record after record. so did the beatles. aerosmith. big legendary rock bands. they always put out records. they toured with new records out in stores. this is rock n' roll. how rock n' roll bands have been successful in mainstream music here in the states. makes sense for axl to do what mick jagger did before him. put out a fresh record of new music and tour the world! the rolling stones did it. pink floyd did it. metallica did it. U2 did it. it's what Elton John does! in fact, elton john debut a new song at this year's rio! elton introduced a new song! i think it be rockin' rollin' if axl like elton plays new songs live. introduces new songs on the tour. while at the same time releases a new album. it's what everybody else in rock n' roll is doing. lenny kravitz does it too. all the big rock names do!   

yes, and Axl knew in 2002 that CD is coming up in 2008. There is always something to bitch about isnt it? People wanted NA tour, they got one, people wanted Estranged in set list, they got it. Eddie Trunk and VH1 Classic?s ?That Metal Show? nailed the mother of all interviews when they sat down with press-shy Guns N? Roses frontman Axl Rose, who had not granted a televised interview in a decade.? We checked in with Trunk about the sit down with Axl ? we know, that sounds so very ?Godfather? ? and he gave us an inkling of what to expect (no reunion talk, humor regarding his notorious tardiness, his positive energy about the band in 2011 and more) when the episode airs on a special time and date, which is this Friday, Nov. 11, at 11PM ET on VH1 Classic.

When you finally got face time with Axl, it was 6 AM.

That?s Axl time.

I know. His world. We live in it. Were you ever at your boiling point, like ?Eff this? or did you think, ?We gotta hold on and see if we get him?? Since by 6 AM, I can imagine you were petty cranky and fatigued by waiting so many hours.

I?d be lying if I didn?t say I was ready to pack it in a couple of times, but I was not mad at Axl. I was not ?Eff this guy.? There was lots of conflicting information. We went there without a firm commitment. It was something we were told by his people ? that if you come, there is a chance you could get him to sit down. We were never given a time. It was very loose. The network felt it was worth taking a shot.

Axl and I have history. Five years ago, he walked into my radio show. We were ready to go for this interview from 3 PM on. We were ready to go at 3:30 or 5:30, whenever. The only thing that would have gotten us to leave was if he left. When he went onstage at midnight and played a three-hour set, the minute he took the stage, I turned to everyone in the crew and said, ?This is not going to happen tonight.?

Why? Axl seems like a night owl?

This could be the last thing he is going to do. He likes to go out, hit South Beach. I thought, ?If we don?t get him before he goes onstage ? we won?t.? But credit my producer Jeff, who was not giving it up. We were going to stay until were were told he had left the building!

Waiting for the ?Gentlemen, Axl has left the building? declaration, Elvis Presley-style!

When he got offstage at 3, some of the guys in the band that I know were texting, ?He is still here, having a drink, winding down.? I kept hearing, from his camp, that he didn?t know that we?re here. So communication was blurry.

Was any topic off limits with him? Did you have to submit a list of questions? Did you have any leeway with him or your line of questioning?

There was nothing we could not talk about with the exception that someone requested we did not ask about reunion tours. The reason being ? and I get this ? the fact that Axl really feels he is into this lineup of the band. He feels this is a great time for this version of the band and is optimistic about how this band is sounding, the connection and fun they are having. They feel it is disrespectful to those guys, the minute he sits down, to ask, ?Reunion? Reunion? Reunion?? He wanted to show where he is today instead of dwelling on past. We respected that.

He might have stormed off if you asked about it and then you?d get nothing.

There really was enough to talk about! The thing that should not get lost is that his band was really good. If the show sucked, he sucked or the band sucked, we would have to have asked about the reunion. He is in a good place and it was he who brought up old members of Guns N? Roses. He was positive and reflective about them, and excited about what he is doing now!

Did he share anything super revelatory?

The thing I took away the most is that he is into this version of the band. He is a misunderstood guy. I asked him about going on so late, and he joked how that has been a 20-year problem, and even referred back to him being a child, working next door to where he grew up, and couldn?t get there on time, either! People will get the feeling that he feels good about new management he has. He feels good about this band. He feels that ?Chinese Democracy? has settled in. And his crowd is now a lot of young people, and that is the case outside of America. How the music has turned over is interesting when it comes to him.

if it was really known...nothing was said in 2002 about chinese democracy. they performed the mtv vma 2002. brain, bucket, and robin on fire at the mtv vma with guns n roses in 2002. but management didn't say a record was coming. great performance. one of the best. axl, robin, bucket, tommy, richard, reed, pittman, and brain. guns n roses!

I understand him going on late, I've been to 4 GNR concerts, but he danced around the question, going back to 1991, and kind of blaming Slash, and yet another tour he was "talked" into-he also said he was talked into the 2002 tour, talked into releasing the Illusion albums early-I like Axl, and this lineup, but he needs to stop blaming everyone else for past tour problems.

UYI was delayed multiple times for well over a year.  

That was a different incarnation of the band.  Regardless of your opinion of the lineups, that band sold more tickets to shows at that time.  They were still a young band.  

Guns N Roses 2011 is an amazing lineup, but is in a stage of their careers where they are both playing new music and music from 25 years ago.  Any new music is amazing, but the timing isn't nearly as important.  Aerosmith hasn't put out an album in 10 years, does that make them any different? They've toured every year since Just Push Play (honking on bobo doesn't count) without new material.

Back on topic, can't wait to hear the whole interview.

in 2008....robin finck was out of the band. axl hasn't told us why. it's 2011. when axl did this i love in 2010 on a international tour.....axl talked about what he called "a stupid wind part" but never mentioned or talked about robin's efforts on this i love when this i love was first performed live. robin put in the time and effort on the solo. robin spent years in the studio with axl rose recording the this i love solo. robin's efforts are not talked about live at a guns n roses live show?

You never responded to my question when I asked if you're going to any of the shows.  If you complain about songs, new material, and don't go, then maybe you shouldn't complain at all.  These people who go to the shows want to hear those songs.

well. fair question. i saw them in usa for 2002 chinese democracy tour. saw the chinese democracy show again in 2006. i saw them overseas for another chinese democracy tour in 2010. i've seen axl live on the chinese democracy tour many times. i saw axl back in the 80's perform live at the roxy. i saw axl kickin' ass in the 90's with the stadium shows.

i haven't seen axl in 2011 live yet. reasons are brain, robin, and bucket out of the band. robin's departure hasn't been explained. when axl does this i love live in 2011....he doesn't talk about or mention robin. when it was robin who put it in blood, sweat, and tears on that solo for years in the studio. i'm not a big fan of dj ashba or nikki sixx. before this year...i didn't really know who dj ashba was. didn't know until axl introduced him on stage. bumblefoot is all right. i can tell he's dedicated on stage. especially with estranged. but i feel the best lineup for guns n roses live under chinese demoracy banner was brain, bucket, and robin. the album should've come out in 2002. before the mtv vma. feels a big missed opportunity. i think about it a lot. i've seen axl do chinese democracy show in the past. i don't know. if a new album was out. or a single. a music video on FUSE. or if i knew for sure new music would be played...i might buy a ticket! i've seen axl do this a lot. you know. i'm waiting for a new record and new music first!

Problem is, if DJ, Dizzy, Tommy, etc. say they have plenty of material and hope to put out another album soon, you get people complaining they shouldn't say anything unless it's certain.  Then you have a vague statement like "we'll see" and you just assume it's never going to happen.  Maybe they want to play it safe and not go through the decade long saga that went along with Chinese Democracy.

I get it, you want new music.  You want more albums, DVD's, interviews, music videos, etc.  GREAT!  Who wouldn't?  Obviously though, if you've been paying the slightest bit of attention over the years, things don't happen at a rapid pace with this band.  So my advice to you, enjoy what you have and stop bitching about what you don't.

If Axl doesn't want to commit to anything specific at this stage, which is perfectly understandable given the way his every comment is pounced upon and scrutinised by both fans and media, then that's his prerogative. He's always been very clear about making announcements only when the time is right. What excites me about this interview, and the positivity radiating from the live performances, is how enthusiastic he sounds about continuing to create new music and his commitment and determination to drive forward with the ongoing evolution of GN'R. I'll admit that there have been times over the past 5 years or so where I thought that CD might well have been the final offering, but I've never been so pleased to have been proved wrong by the way that its release and the subsequent touring schedule appear to have reinvigorated Axl and reignited the spark of musical genius that lies at the heart of the band. Credit must be given as well to the amazing group of musicians who have shouldered their share of the responsibility of bringing GN'R to a whole new audience. Their efforts are a huge part of the story and I'm glad that they're being recognised as such in the show reviews I've seen.

I'm looking forward to watching this interview immensely. It's been far too long since Axl in conversation graced my telly screen!  8)

when it comes to recognizing musicians on the first chinese democracy album. i want that too. i'm looking for axl to recognize robin's efforts on songs like this i love live. robin should be recognized for this song. brain and bucket should be recognized live for songs like sorry and shackler's

Thanks for posting those new clips.  First I've seen them.  Can't WAIT for this interview.  Not that it'll be anything groundbreaking.  It'll just be cool to see, and who knows when/if we'll ever get to see something like this again.  So let's enjoy it.

Does anybody know, was DJ asked anything during this interview or was he just sitting there for moral support?  Not that it matters, just wondering.

Not that I've seen. But I wonder myself how much of the actual hour will be the Axl interview and how much will be the other stuff they taped.

Yeah they did say they taped a lot of other stuff, just in case they never got the interview with Axl.  But since they did score the sit down, I would think the majority of the time will be Axl.  The other stuff they can use for a bonus show, or going into or coming out of breaks.  They said they spoke to him for 90 minutes or so I believe, so I'm sure they'd want to use as much of that as they could.

That's what I'm hoping for too.

I've been kinda hoping that maybe not all the clips we've seen will be in the actual broadcast too. I read (on rollingstone.com I think) that the actual interview was 90 minutes so hopefully there's plenty of footage to show.

Yeah, as evidenced by his pop in on Eddie's radio show, when Axl DOES sit down for an interview, he likes to talk.  He'll go on and on.  It's just a matter of getting him to agree to the interview.  I'm sure we won't be disappointed, well most of us at least.

I may be getting on a bit and my memory isn't what it was, but I can assure you that the wait for the Illusions albums had its fair share of uncertainties too. In the pre-internet days news was very hard to come by, here in the UK at any rate, and the future of the band was never a foregone conclusion. I don't want to sidetrack this thread any more than necessary but must challenge your statement that Axl did lots of interviews in the 90s. I think you'll find that he's always been pretty selective in this area.

And when I mentioned crediting the band, I was referring specifically to the current line-up and the chemistry between them that makes the live show such an amazing event. The previous band members were credited on the album, as was their right, but it's the present members who, in my opinion, are fulfilling the promise that was intimated on the album. This line-up brings drama and passion to all the material, old and new, and I can't remember when I've ever seen Guns perform better.

there was never a doubt illusions coming out. the gnr album which was doubtful was appetite. the rest was a slam dunk. i was on top of everything at the time. kurt loder was too. so was MTV

brain, bucket, and robin credited on the physical cd. but has axl credited each of them live? axl hasn't credited robin for this i love live yet. axl hasn't credited brain and bucket for songs axl does live in 2011 like sorry, shackler's, and the chinese democracy songs.

Axl gave plenty of credit, love, etc. to Robin, Bucket, Brain in his online chats.  I doubt he'll ever do so in a live setting.  Why would he?  To please YOU and 5 other people.  Doesn't make any sense.

live credit during a concert is what does it for me. when axl first performed this i love live. no mention of robin. no talk or credit. brain and bucket didn't get live credit either for songs axl does on the tour

That's fine if it works for you, but the other thousands of people in attendance would be saying "who the F cares?"  He's not playing these shows for just you.  And how about we just wait 2 more days to find out what is discussed during the interview instead of speculating on what might be. 

i'm speculating because with everything previewed and leaked, it doesn't look good for the main thing i'm looking for which is new music. i have bad vibes from what eddie has told spin and rolling stone about it.

axl asks "what does that mean?" with putting out a new album. it means for the fans to enjoy another new album of guns n roses music. it's time for a record of new music. live show is great. tv interview is cool. but it's about new records. the rolling stones put out 29 new records for the fans. mick jagger did it all. i wish axl would know it means to put out new records. there was no problem with axl putting out records from 1987-1993. during that period.....appetite, lies, illusions, and spaghetti comes out. 5 records during a short period. then a black out. until 2008 chinese democracy comes. watching this clip....you get the feeling it's going to be another black out. another long wait like chinese democracy was. i don't get positive vibes from these clips about records. do you get positive vibes? i'm not feeling the good vibes 

What I think he means is....by people saying "put out an album"
  He's happy that people want music from him...but at the same time, these people are telling the artist to put music out.  "What does that mean?". Are people telling me that I "Must" put out music or they won't like me?

Everyone would welcome new music.  I seen them on Appetite tour, Illusion tour in 91,and waited with the rest of the GNR fans for CD. Now 20 years later I get to see them again.  I too, am hopeful for more, but am happy with what we have.

Im pumped for the interview tomorrow. It will just be nice to see Axl talking openingly about things and hopefully Dj has someting to add. After seein the show last you can easily tell these two jell really nice together, along with the rest of the band. Saw them in 02 and 06 and this time it really felt like a 'band' up there, a group. Your question has been answered before on here, but you keep asking it.  Axl is not going to say that "a new album will be out this year"...or that "we will go into studio after tour"....because he knows how people run with the littlest thing he says and then put expectations on him.  I've told you before (and not that I know), but I have no doubt that after this US tour, they will go in and start working on an album.  But who knows when the fuck that will come out.

you are acting like you are the only one who wants new music.  I dont think there is one person on the here who would like a new Guns N Roses album every day, but you need to get with the program here.  This is not a band that just throws out records for the hell of it.  You keep talking about Mick Jagger for some weird fucking reason, and his 29 records, but you fail to mention that he hasn't put out a good one since 1972.  So congratulations, you have about 20 beer coasters laying around.

GNR are a band that puts out quality over quantity, I find it very hard to believe that you have been  following this band since the Roxy days yet you are having a very hard time grasping the concept that GN'R don't put out records every other week.

Like I said, its about quality, and EVERY GN'R album is something special, none of them are half assed.  This is a great time for the band, and it never ceases to amaze me that diehard "fans" like you are unable to enjoy it.

Granted Chinese Democracy took a LONG time to come out.  That's the understatement of understatements.  But it's not like back in the day GNR were releasing albums at a record pace.  Lies was an EP, which had 4 "new" songs really.  Actually 3, but I'll give you "You're Crazy" since the acoustic version is far superior to the one on AFD.  And granted UYI was a double disc release, but really it took 4 years for it to come out, 3 if you want to count Lies.  Just seems like some revisionist history going on here. 

I agree that (in my opinion) AFTER this tour, the focus will shift to new music.  When that new music will come out is anyone's guess, but why worry about that right now when things are going so well?  Wait until the band is dormant and inactive for a few months before we let the doom and gloom scenarios fly.

I kind of gotta agree with what some of you are saying considering that Trunk mentioned during his radio show last week that he didn't even watch the entire GN'R concert he was at.  I'm sorry, but film crew or not, I wouldn't allow anyone to stop me from seeing the entire concert, unless you didn't want to see it in the first place! 

Sometimes I feel it is all about Trunk, when I don't really even know who the guy is, other than he interviewed Axl once before.  Along with other things he mentioned on his show last week, borderline complaints, I just don't think he appreciated how lucky he really was to be able to do the interview. 

Also Trunk and this other guy mentioned money and not getting paid when joking about other things they have done in the past, which leads me to believe that he was paid the exact same amount as if he was just doing a regular VH1 show, his job btw.  Absolutely nothing to be disappointed about there, unless someone was hoping for a big check.

Regardless I'm really looking forward to the interview and hope to be able to see it soon!!  Respects..       

I actually like Trunk's style, its hard work having a conversation when its all about asking questions, sometimes the interviewer needs to coax an answer from the interviewee... If Axl was put into a place where it was just "Who, when, why, where, what and how?" to every question without the human element to the conversation, the interview would last about half an hour.  This is a return to, what hopefully is the first of many interviews we are gonna hear, let this start begin in such a way that he'll open up some more at a later date.  :love:

From what I've seen, they are asking good questions, Axl is the one who seems to be doing more of the kidding around

The question about whether or not he felt outside pressure to put CD out, Axl laughed and kidded around at first, but finally admitted he did, which in the past he basically would say stuff like "wait for Jesus, I hear the payoff is better".

I guess I should give Trunk the benefit of the doubt and see the whole interview first.

From what I gather, he has asked (that we know of ) so far, about if new music is coming out, what he thinks of Chinese Democracy today, why he comes out late, Hall of Fame, Izzy, was he able complete CD with blinders on and not feel pressure from public (which got the answer, surprisingly, he did, and read posts about it during the time)-and remember, TMS is geared toward more a general VH! audience-for example, Eddie is not going to ask about a new version of Silkworms, or why Oh My God is not on the setlist right now-I think they are actually asking great questions.

GUNS N' ROSES singer and sole original member Axl Rose taped an hour-long interview with VH1's "That Metal Show" following the band's show in Miami on October 29, the second of its newly launched U.S. tour. The talk will air on Friday, November 11 as part of VH1 Classic's "National Metal Day" and will also include a live performance of "Live And Let Die" from the Florida concert.

When asked about GUNS N' ROSES' continual stage tardiness, with long waits for Axl just as much a definite at a the band's concert as hearing "Paradise City" or "Welcome To The Jungle", Rose said, "Well, [I'm] not complaining or [saying this] to be a wuss or whatever, but a lot of times, the day of show, for some reason, [that's when] things start going wrong. People are making mistakes ? you're making mistakes, they're making mistakes ? and nobody even knows why. It's like things that you go, 'Well, I should know this.' It's like everybody gets hit by A.D.D. or whatever. And so, you're trying to sort through that, and get yourself in the right headspace and physical, whatever, that you've got to work through? It's more like sports and having to play the big game. I think we're doing better as far as that goes [nowadays]."

He continued, "A lot of this goes way, way back, though, to 1991 when we were super-late going on stage. And that really more has to do with I should not have been on tour. I only went on tour because of three reasons. My manager had booked a tour without authorization ? he just booked a tour ? and then I'm gonna be sued for it. He was also telling me that if [then-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist] Slash dies of [a] heroin [overdose], or whatever, it's my fault. And Slash pushing me. I should not have agreed to that tour, but I didn't know how to get out of it after it was booked. And the only thing that started cutting down the late times was when I realized it was really being hard on the crew. The band didn't care about me, so my head wasn't about them. The public, like I said, it was a different kind of violent crowd; it was a back-and-forth thing whether they wanted you to succeed or tear you apart. But the big thing was that the crew was having trouble, that was really supportive of me, and they weren't getting enough sleep. And I didn't want anybody getting hurt. And once that happened, I started getting myself? figuring out a way to get there sooner. But it was also about trying to get the album done, get the album out. There was a lot to what was going on there. And then, I lived right behind my school and I couldn't make it to the class in grade school. I had a job at the grocery store down the street and I'm running down the street with wet hair, trying to tie my tie, and a sandwich in one hand."

Axl Rose, the elusive frontman of Guns ?N Roses, opens up Friday night for his first interview in five years.

In an extended conversation with host Eddie Trunk on ?That Metal Show? over VH1 Classic (11 p.m.), Rose talks about his new band, his music over the years, the band?s nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and, yes, his legendary propensity for being late to everything, especially his own concerts.

?He talks about a lot of reasons why he?s late,? says Trunk. ?Then at the very end he kind of laughs and admits that when he was a kid and had a job right next door, he never got there on time, either.?

This interview itself reinforced that point. Trunk arrived at 2 p.m. at the venue where Guns ?N Roses was playing a concert and finally scored the interview at 5:30 the next morning.

?You quickly realize that with this band, everything runs on Axl time,? says Trunk, adding that he was ?ecstatic? to talk to Rose at all, no matter what the hour.

?I suppose ideally I would have talked to him at a time when I hadn?t been hanging around for 15 hours and up for 24 straight hours. But I?m not complaining.?

Trunk says he was told to come to the venue, set up his crew and that if it felt right to Axl, he?d do the interview.

?So we spent a lot of that time talking to everyone else,? says Trunk. ?We talked to the crew, everyone in the band. I mean, we had to get a show out of it whether we talked to Axl or not. So now we?ve got a lot of good stuff that won?t make it on the air this time.?

What helped, Trunk allows, is that he was the guy to whom Rose gave his last interview ? five years ago, on Trunk?s radio show.

?That one was completely out of the blue,? says Trunk. ?Sebastian Bach was there, and he knows Axl. So they were texting and Bach said, hey, c?mon down ? and he did.

?After the show ended, he hung out for a couple of hours. He was just a cool guy who likes to talk about music.?

Trunk has become the go-to media guy in the metal and hard rock media world, and he says the reason is nothing complicated.

?I?ve been doing this for 30 years,? he says. ?And I think it?s clear to everyone that first and foremost I?m a fan. I?m not going to try to make anyone look bad.

?That said, however, I will ask the tough questions. I want to know what the fans want to know. I?ve turned down interviews when I was told the artist wouldn?t talk about something I knew I had to ask.?

In the case of Rose, he says, the only precondition was that he not ask about a reunion of the original Guns ?N Roses. ?Which I understand,? says Trunk. ?He?s on the road now with new guys, and he loves playing with them. And he actually brought up some of the original guys himself at a couple of points.?

Trunk says they talk about the new band, Rose?s long interludes between CDs, and his feeling about his ?Chinese Democracy? CD.

They also talk about the Rock Hall, to which Guns ?N Roses has been nominated in its first year of eligibility.

?He says it?s not something he thinks a lot about,? says Trunk. ?He thinks it?s mostly for fans. But he said it?s an honor and he talks about how he inducted Elton John, whom he loves. If it?s good enough for Elton, he said, it?s good enough for him.?

Friday night?s ?That Metal Show? kicks off a round of eight new episodes, one of which by coincidence will feature Slash, the original Guns ?N Roses guitarist.

Meantime, having interviewed Rose has kept Trunk busy.

Man, I got to stop checking out this thread - by the time the interview airs we will have read and seen every single good part of the interview and the main event will be ruined! Kind of like when they show all the good parts on a movie trailer and then you see the movie and it's ruined because of the trailer.... This happens so much lately with everything!

We saw how many clips? 9? 10? the most are 1 minute lengh and the interview last almost an hour so we haven't seen much.

Can't wait to see the Live and let die performance on the show.

I'm guessing there's a lot of commercials so the actual show is probably only 40 minutes long.  So say we've seen 15 minutes of clips plus the LALD performance is probably going to be another say 7+ minutes plus I think I read there will be another song shown so we'll give that another 7+ minutes.  Then if you add in like another 5+ minutes for the lengthy way the questions are being asked, there's probably only like 2 or 3 minutes of Axl talking that we haven't heard yet.  :hihi:

OH WAIT!!!  I forgot that Ron n' Dj are also part of the interview so if they each have 1 minute of talk-time then I think we've already heard all we're gonna hear from Axl.   :P

I know you're kind of joking but you may be closer to the truth than you think. Some of these shows on VH1 go into commercials showing lengthy previews of what's coming up after the break. Then you watch it again. There's not a lot of actual original show when it's all said and done.

That enquiry must be directed towards VH1. Eddie Trunk has said he's got no control over the footage, that's VH1 property.

As far as content goes, I really don't think that would make a difference.  Even if they have additional footage, I think they'd still hold it back for "exclusives" on trunk's other shows or maybe incorporate it into another VH1 show or something.

somehow or another we will see all of the good/usable footage from the interview, whether be tonight on VH1 or on various websites as bonus web content.  I highly doubt they will sit on any of this...

vh1 classic has a rating gold right now they wont sit on it, they will replay it till we are sick of it lol

According to the commercial, it will be on at 10PM Central Time, which means 11PM in New York, and 5AM in Paris. It will basically air in 2 hours and 50 minutes from now.

Hopefully some US fans will be able to record it in HD and torrent it/ upload it!

Edit: just saw on Eddie Trunk's Twitter that VH1 Classic is not broadcasted in HD (hello? 2011, anyone??), so nevermind the HD mention, but just the recording would be cool! ;)

I believe Florentine said there would be 2 performances when he called in on Trunk's show discussing the interview; however he said the rough cut he saw only had Live and Let Die in it from what I recall.  I don't remember them discussing what the other song that might/may possibly be included in the show was.

Letmehearitnow, it's been a few years since I lived in the US, but if I remember correctly, 8PM PST = 10PM CST = 11PM EST so yes, it'd be normal (sorry for not mentioning PST though).

I just watched it and thought it was good.  I liked the Bumblefoot section and thought he came off really well.  Talked about the fans badgering him about Estranged lol   Axl said some pretty funny jokes that made me laugh out loud.   That is cool that he also mentioned Duff and Izzy maybe showing up at some point.  I think Eddie asked the right questions and Axl was pretty honest.

It's always a pleasure to hear from Axl, he's very entertaining to listen to. The guy could probably talk about a Snickers bar and either make it funny or interesting. But! But! But! I have to say the interview was terrible. Anyone else notice that Trunk made the whole thing about Eddie Trunk? I mean, early on, when they were showing a montage of their travels and it momentarily held a shot of an airplane wing, I knew we weren't going to get the interview that we deserved. It came off as less about Axl than using him to push TMS. I get that to an extent, but the whole affair could have come off better. It should have been an hour of Axl, not 20 minutes of Axl and a lot of filler. I don't know, kill me, but I just could help having my wife laugh at me the whole time grousing that Trunk was making it all about himself and not the man that had us all tuning in to watch, listen, and be entertained by. I'll go back now and listen to the '06 radio interview to cleanse my palate. Oh, Sorry just come on my stereo mix. Awesome.

11/11/11: just wanted to drop a note about tonights much anticipated premiere of the Axl Rose TMS Special. I have done press all week on radio and print talking about the special but some of the articles obviously take on the tone of the writer, and not always how it was said. Much has been made about the hour the interview happened. Yes it is true we were there a very long time and the interview took place between 5:30-7AM on 10/30/11, however we went there with no promise or set time to even get the interview. Axl told us a few times he was not aware this was something his reps had even set up for him to do. Yes it was late (early) and I would have personally been a little more fresh for an interview of this magnitude, but the idea Axl intentionally had us wait is not accurate. We got there so early because we shot footage with many people in the event we didnt get Axl. Maybe some of that footage will be seen later in a different show. Axl was willing to talk about everything with us and was very generous with his time when he finally did join us.

The show was shot in HD, however VH1 Classic does not broadcast in HD. At some point another channel may air it in the VH1 family that will show it in that format. I have no control over where, when and how this show, or any TMS airs. I also have no control over the various internet laws that block it in some places.

There will be some music from the show that night in the special.

Axl requested new guitarist DJ Ashba sit with him during the interview. Thanks to DJ for being cool and joining us. We actually shot a solo interview with him I hope we can use at some pioint, but Axl for obvious reasons is the focus of the interview. We also spoke to Bumblefoot, various crew and band members, fans and more. Some will be seen, some maybe used another time. Again, this was about Axl once he joined us.

We were only asked by Axl's camp to not ask about an ioriginal reunion. The focus of the interview is about this version of the band that he feels strongly about and turned in a great performance. That being said, Axl does mention past members in the discussion.

Not sure either. And actually, this brings up a good point that in general they did a poor job of asking relveant follow-up questions.  I'm going to watch it again and think of all of the good questions they could have asked based on Axl's responses.

For those of you bitching about music videos... Music videos are not what they were 20 years ago when you were younger. I loved Axl's closing comment about DJ talking over him... Axl was the only one in the room who actually cared about DJ being there.

In my opinion it was rude of the interviewers not to address any question to DJ or to both of them for that matter.

I thought that was cool as well. I remember watching the Challenger blow up on TV. I was in clinical in my last year of nursing school. Me and my patient just stared at each other with shock and disbelief.

I also thought it was funny about what he said about the audience in the early 90's. I was way too chicken to see a GNR show back then. When I first saw GNR in 2001 in Las Vegas my friends were totally freaked out. They were like, I can't believe that you went to a GNR concert by yourself, those people are CRAZY! :hihi:

After watching this over a few times, I got to say that it's great seeing Axl looking in great shape and looking very healthy. I thought it was interesting hearing Axl's views regarding fans from different countries seeing him in a certain way. I also find it cool knowing Axl has an ipod, I would love to see his full playlist.

I loved Axl's comment about the right people making Chinese Democracy, and he also said something to the effect of "everyone who is here, wants to be here". So I regard that comment, as sign that Axl would love to have the band back who made CD, but realises that those member choose to not be part of it anymore for whatever reasons. But he is happy with the current band, and that's all that matters..... I also loved all of the in-between bits like with Ron, and also Chinese Democracy live from Miami.

My only complaint is the range of questioning, I honestly felt more questions could have been asked on certain subjects. Eddie did well, but felt the other 2 guys asked boring and generic type of questions. DJ was pretty silent throughout, but that's not surprising as this interview was all about God himself Axl Rose.  ;)

I think the problem is, as GNR fans we expected/hoped for more from the interview.  You have to take a step back and view it as an outsider.  I highly doubt a non-GNR fan who saw the interview is being so critical in saying how the interviewers sucked and didn't ask the right questions.  It is "That Metal Show", not the "GNR fansite show".  I thought they did a fine job considering the circumstances.  Sure they could've delved in and asked a few more follow up questions, eg. the Abu Dhabi situation.  Time was obviously a factor though, having to squeeze ALL that footage into 45 minutes or so.  I think that's what the biggest problem was, there just wasn't enough time.

I salute the TMS guys for pulling off this interview, a job well done.  Hopefully we get to see some more down the road.

It was great to watch this interview. I also missed some more follow-ups and maybe deeper-going answers on some subjects, but what the hell! Axl seems to be in good mood these days, and Gn'R is really a well-functional band, and that shows both on-stage and in interviews. I have never watched/listened to TMS before, so I didn't get a great impression of Eddie Trunk and his crew of this, but he did make this happen, so I have to admire him for that, plus he and his crew probably were really tired at the time the interview went down.

Also cool to see the Live and let die footage, plus Chinese Democracy. And great to hear GnR get some cred for their long lasting show and their stamina! Really understand some of Axl's love/hate towards MTV. How can we love someone who give Katy Perry a best "live-performance" award?  :rofl:

All you have to do is listen to the Chicago '92 rant just before Live and Let Die. He was going through a lot of stuff personally and so fourth. I agree with AxlReznor where I think mentally he wasn't there. Not a performance or unsure of himself thing.

I adored the snippet of onstage action right at the end of the programme when Axl was thanking the crowd, clinking bottles with Dj and then giving that heart-melting smile as he left the stage. The man has charisma oozing from every pore and yet, as shown by his self-deprecating comments during the interview, he remains modest and humble about his achievements and delights in refusing to take seriously the effect his presence has upon thousands of his fans.

Cool, sexy and immensely talented. Axl Rose, deny it all you want, but in my eyes you are, and always will be, the ultimate rock god.   :love:

Appetite For Destruction was the name of the painting/postcard...If the cover were of the Challenger explosion, chances are it would have been a differant title...Perhaps "excuse me, what does this button do?"

Im glad to finally see Axl in a sit down interview after all these years. He seemed in good spirits and very relaxed. On the other hand Trunk and the other guys looked very tense like they were terrified of asking the wrong question, that would piss off Axl. As a result, they seemed unprepared and with the exception of a couple of questions, the interview was a little disappointing IMHO, but expected. Hopefully, this was a good experience for Axl and he will be more open to doing some more interviews in the future.

I agree with a previous poster, that he does not seem against the RRHOF, and views it as an honor to be inducted. The AFD and Challenger picture was interesting, so was the part of Get in the Ring. The part of the illusion tour was interesting as well because Duff and Slash also mentioned in their books that management should have taken the band off the road during that tour. I think the band dealt with some crazy pressures at that time, and management and the powers that be wanted to make as much money as possible without taking into consideration what the band was going through.

I think it was rude that they did not even ask DJ one question during that interview. It was completely awkward. It would have been cool to talk to some of the other guys as well and get their take of the dynamic of the band. All in all, I am happy we finally got to watch an Axl interview.

After all these years, just getting him on TV was a win for Trunk.  Just for that alone, I enjoyed it.  Still, I don't understand the 'walking on eggshells' treatment; all they had to do was research Axl's 2008 board postings to realize that Axl's willing to discuss just about anything.

What I THINK people may be seeing (unless they are looking way to into things or have a hidden agenda) is that it was 0530 in the morning and they were tired. I don't know if they were walking on eggshells but they started every question with a overlong ass kissy lead-up. And that one guy's sideburns are annoying.

I have a hard time watching those guys because they seem totally unaware of the fact that no one, outside of maybe their own families, cares what they have to say.
I had heard of the show, but never really sat through one before Axl's. I watched a Dave Mustaine and Slash episode with them afterwards, and you could just tell Dave was thinking, what the fuck am I doing here?". He got maybe 3 sentences in before those donkeys starting debating whether the Scorpions were better than some other band.. Neither band was in anyway relevant with Dave Mustaine or Megadeth. I actually thought they were on their best behavior with Axl, compared to the others..

I thought it was funny when Trunk went off about the Rock N Roll HOF.  He thought Axl knew had about his negative look at the HOF.  Then Axl had to ask him and that is ???   :rofl:

I'm glad they didn't use the challenger, because people would probably have focused on that more than the music.  It also would be a little too similar to Led Zeppelin's first album cover.  The painting they used was great because it inspired a timeless album title, and the cross logo they used as the alternate cover is now iconic.

I'm glad that they did not use the challenger pic. I think the original cover was more representative of the element of danger associated with the band as well as the songs. The cross as the previous poster mentioned has become an iconic symbol and also representative of the original members of the band.

I wish Trunk and the guys would have asked more substantive questions about the promotion or lack there of for CD. If he does not enjoy give interviews or does not promote the band more aggresively. It seems he used to do many interviews prior to CD. Does it have anything to do with some of the experiences he has had with the media. If he plans on performing on any late night shows or SNL. If not why not. Does he want take a more underground approach. How do they work on writing music these days. Why did CD take so long to make, and what was his writing process like with the members. How did he audition musicians or what did he look for when hired new members in 2000 and then in 2006. How was that like. What made him change from wearing jerseys to wearing jeans and a shirt. What is going on in his social life. Does he want to get married or have kids.

I don't think these questions r out of line or would have upset Axl.I think these guys were just really unprepared especially considering the fact that Axl was in such a great mood.

Eddie admitted they would have liked to be sharper mentally as it was almost 6AM when the interview started.  They looked pretty beat in the interview. Axl looked like it was 5PM! And that was after a 3 hr show.

I listened to a little bit of Eddie's radio show tonight on Sirius and he said that the main reason for the interview was because Axl felt good about THIS version of the band and really wanted to push that and get that across to people.  So you could take out of that, the point of the interview wasn't to find out why there was little to no promo for CD, or the making of the album. etc.  It was more about NOW and the future, so I guess overall they tried to focus their attention that way.

He said that Axl wanted DJ there with him for the interview and that they had no problem with that, but obviously all of the questions were going to be directed at Axl since the man does an interview once every five years.  He said they did interview DJ, Tommy, Dizzy, and Ron separately without Axl and he thinks those interviews may pop up on websites (VH1) sometime.

Nearly every time they asked a question, I wanted to cringe. Axl was great, but the hosts were terrible and they spent way too much time focusing on themselves. Boo hoo, we had to wait a long time, boo hoo, we had to catch a flight to Florida really early in the morning and didn't get to go to our hotel.

I agree! They acted like cranky old women who didn't get their beauty sleep.

It was funny when my wife pointed out Trunk's hair. Looked like he slept on the couch but his "stylist" was sleeping at 5A.M.

11/15/11: Just unreal response now that the Axl Rose interview has aired a few times, wow! I'd say 90% has been super positive, the other 10% wanting questions abbout a reunion. Once again, as I stated, the terms of the interview were about this band and tour, not to hammer at a reunion that is not in the works in any way shape or form. The interview was granted to help to help promote what Axl and this band are doing now and the current tour. That being said, obviously we covered other ground as well. I'm glad so many of you enjoyed seeing Axl kicking back and just shooting the shit with us. Hope to catch GnR in NJ this Thursday where I can watch more of the show and not be also working.

VH1 Classic is replaying that interview about 3-4 times a day it seems. I've watched it 4 times so far and each time is better.

Those of us who are late arriving, I think we're going to have to wait until VH-1 decides to post the entire episode.  The links on youtube are continuously being removed for copyright violations.  I've watched

I really liked the interview and thank whoever posted the first link to watch it.  It is funny that Eddie mentioned later all these magazines calling desperate for their own Axl interview.  Rolling Stone,for example, posts nutty videos on their YouTube channel of Hulk Hogan complaining about GN'R.  SERIOUSLY.  It was funny in the Trunk interview AXL said "WWW" and then quickly corrected himself to "WWE" when he mentioned wrestling.

 SPIN recently posted an "article" that it's hilarious that AXL tripped on stage..crap like that.  No wonder there are not too many interviews.  If there are, at least let it be with people that can be trusted, and there are too many people in it for other things.

I like that AXL made a point to talk about his care for the band,fans and giving the best show possible.  People can have whatever interview they want but the shows are what people will remember years and years from now.  That is what I will finally be able to see and remember this Sunday night.  When people ask about promotion, this is one of the biggest world tours ever!  Absolutely no need for a "sales pitch" AXL,  this show is GOLD!

I know AXL likes sports but I don't see him as the type to watch WWE wrestling.

You've never met him or known him personally, so you wouldn't really know what "type" he is, would ya?   :)  Besides, even if he doesn't watch wrestling, that doesn't mean he hasn't heard of WWE (or WWF, as I knew it).

Just because Axl mentioned the sports venture name, after correcting himself. Doesn't mean he watches WWE, it just proves that he knows "of" WWE, which most people do. The fact that he had to correct himself on the actual name, seems to make me think that he doesn't watch it at all, but you never know I guess.  :)

those were all very insightful interviews especially when combined with the axl one

i think Axl know's of WWE, apparently at the Chicago show CM Punk was in Axl's dressing room before the show with wrestler's Domino and El Generico.

anyway, i think Axl's interview was really great, and i love the added interviews with the other members of the band too.
