nice!!! I'm there... also Toronto if it gets a date. Might be forced to buy tix last minute though if I'm doing two dates (fingers crossed).

EDIT: CHCH just mentioned the show on the news, playing part of the November Rain clip, as well as the tired old comment "it's really just Axl Rose and an entirely new crew"

failed to point out the 2010 show or the fact that some of the guys have been around 10 years or more now.

whats the presale password, anyone know ?

should be able to get floors on sat. , but wouldn't hurt to secure them a day earlier.

think i'l call the radio station y108 if word doesnt get out soon.

Title: Re: gnr in canada
Post by: kyrie on October 25, 2011, 03:09:05 PM
Presale Password: HECFI

Staff: I don't know if it's cool to post that, it's the venue pre-sale password and it's the same pass for most events (I just got my e-mail for GN'R pre-sale from them). If it's not just edit it out and people could privmsg me. Don't think it's too big a deal since it never changes for Copps :P

So...where we all meeting up this time? Time/Place? I barely got to say hey to Jarmo last time around in Hamilton, and that's only because I saw him from 20 feet away in the tunnel going backstage...

Title: Re: gnr in canada
Post by: dont_damn_me on October 25, 2011, 10:38:08 PM
yea, i didn't meet anyone from here last time, but sure would be cool too!

where was the meet up last time?

my bud was playing live just down the street from the venue but that bars closed now, too bad was a good vibe, losts of GNR pre partiers, and lots of GNR music being played...

Good to hear they are coming, I thought I was going to miss out this time around after the recent GNR in Canada thread where somebody said that Bumblefoot told them a couple of months ago that they wouldn't be playing Canada. I wonder if people just make that shit up so they have something to say or if it really happened. Anyway, hoping to see Estranged live in Alberta!!!!

Honest lawyer was packed last time though. I met up with a few people (LoadedNightTrain, I'm lookin in your direction....lol) but it was hard to tell who was one of us, who was a casual fan, and who was just some plug that just got off of work. Hopefully we can all catch up this time

Hmm hopefully they hit up the ACC to...Would looove to see Estranged live

It looks like the only date they could play Toronto would be Nov. 29th... nothing booked at the ACC.  The Leafs play on the 30th and the 27th seems unlikely (that would be 4 straight days with a concert).

Don't know if I should hope for that to be announced or grab Hamilton tickets!

From what I've heard buckcherry is opening most of the dates on the tour but they can't do all of the dates so I heard wolfmother is filling in for those shows. So it should be one of those.

Just a heads up guys. I was about 5 rows back last time, right against the right hand side of the stage that came outwards. Kinda dug that spot, so I'm calling it this time......wait....can we call shotgun on floor spots at the show beforehand? Who cares...I'm doin it anyway. And hopefully we get Baz for this show as well....he was amazing last time.

Wow had no idea there was a presale today also!

Got 2 floor tickets.

For those who need it the Live Nation Presale password is: energy

Also, it looks like they won't release upper bowl seats unless the lower sells out (same as 2010) since you can't get any if you select them... and I can't for the life of me figure out why they priced Upper Bowl as more expensive than lower bowl at the back... gotta love promoters ;)

Tickets must not be moving too well.  Got an e-mail with a 2 for 1 ticket deal for the $58 seats.  Like last time, they appear not to be selling seats in the upper bowl.

Last time they didn't sell upper bowl tickets at all. I believe they were doing the same thing this time out - when I tried to get upper bowl tickets a few weeks ago it wasn't an option.

The pricing for this show is all kinds of messed, looks like they now have 58.50 tickets, plus 2 for 1 58.50 tickets. You have the password? I haven't got an e-mail from the venue, ticketmaster, or livenation and I'm signed up for all. I might have a few people interested if I can grab some tickets last minute...

Title: Re: GN'R in Hamilton, ON Canada
Post by: kyrie on November 22, 2011, 10:24:10 AM
Oh the Holiday Ticket Deal password is TMNHD

Can get lower bowl tickets for 58$

Still wanna know what the 2 for 1 is.

Title: Re: GN'R in Hamilton, ON Canada
Post by: kyrie on November 22, 2011, 11:05:20 AM
Okay the 2 for 1 offer is TMN241 but I'm not sure how it's "2 for 1" as it comes out to 58.50 for both tickets... you can buy single tickets for 58.50 anyway.

Way to fail ticketmaster...

EDIT: Even more fail. So the "2 for 1" deal is based off the 89.50 price + fees which comes about to just over $100, so per Ticketmaster the deal is "essentially 2 for 1" based on that, ignoring the fact that you can get one seat in the same section for $58.50. So I don't see the motivation/reason to even have a "2 for 1" deal when the holiday tickets are the exact same price and don't have to be purchased in pairs. Typical ticketmaster misleading BS.

Title: Re: GN'R in Hamilton, ON Canada
Post by: BFD on November 22, 2011, 07:48:38 PM
I just tried the 2 for 1 deal, there must be some sort of an error with it.  If anyone wants tickets maybe they should contact HECFI at 905-546-3100 because Ticketbastard is still charging the regular price even with the 'TMNHD' password.

For what it's worth, The Sheepdogs tickets appear to be moving well for their show two days earlier at Copps, and they just got their first record deal only a few months ago.  They are setting up this show in a 'theater setting', so they're not using the whole arena.

Considering the band played 13 shows in Canada last year, and only one in the USA, it's only fair they focus on the US on this one.

I didn't say it wasn't fair, I was simply making an inquiry.I agree with you, it is fair to focus on the US. it was closer to 2 years ago now though btw. the end of the canadian tour anyway. the moncton show was feb 2010..getting back on point, a simple 'yes' or 'no' would have sufficed.... but thanks for answering my question.

I plan on writing a review on here from the show tomorrow...as for tonight.....I'm exhausted. What I will tell you is that the band was absolutely amazing....people were blown away, and were still going crazy at the end of paradise city....

Oh, and at one point, Ron was on our side. He looked right at me, so I grabbed my chin, and did a bowing motion....naturally paying proper respect to the almighty beard. It got a smile out of him, and he gave the beard a tug....it was awesome...haha

Got home at 4:30am so i'll try my best for a review...

Band was absolutely on fire! Started about 10:45, on time as far as i'm concerned... Smart to open doors @ 8

Axl was loud and sounded amazing

The 3 headed dragon guitar attack was kickin ass all night... Bumble was really showing his pain, which was hard to watch, but didn't miss a note all night... DJ played as well as ever, really liked his TIL solo... Richard, damn... I always say this but this guy owns the stage... I the he could have gone another 3 hrs, at the end of the show he was running circles around the other 2 :hihi:

Frank didnt take time off the whole show... Every song every jam, he was pounding away

Highlight was Estranged hands down, never thought i'd see that thing played live... Don't Cry has really evolved with this band, love it... Another Brick as well (I believe it was Hamilton 2010 that Axl first jammed it before NR, but i could be wrong), really kicked ass

Notes: Saw 2 girls showing off their back stage passes, wanted to just snatch them so bad.... During the first 4 songs, some girl was grinding the shit out of me, and her boyfriend finally noticed and called her out on it, but she denied it and kept going for a while

Copps security still SUCKS... They must think Axl will walk off if pics are taken  ::) They were climbing into the crowd throwing people out taking pics... Looked like Axl & DJ giving them the evil eye a couple time, and someone must have said something, cause about halfway thru they just stopped

Setlist to the best of my memory (order def not right)

It's So Easy
Mr. Brownstone

I think it depends on the venue, and where you're located. Obviously, some of the board members that were further back got some amazing photos. But closer up (I was second row), security were pretty deadly with the cameras. They had no problem with cell phone pictures, and the guy standing in front of us was pretty lenient, but others were jumping into the crowd to stop people....(which it seems the band was none to happy about).

I'd say use discretion, and if you're close to a security guard, simply ask.

The wife and I had a great time!
This was by far the best show we have attended (11.29.02, 11.30.02, 11.15.06, 01.24.10, 01.28.10)
I know the guys right beside us wanted to hear OMG, but was it necessary to scream it out after every song and after the show? Got a couple of picks and took a bunch of photos, which I'll post later.
Can't wait to see them again!
