I have no facts, but Guns should do an NY date.

Guns sell well in NY, so it would be strange not to.

There is something like 9 dates to be announced still. I'm guessing New York and L.A. will be amongst them.

IF they do NY I would think that NY and LA shows will cap off the tour, but thats  fine with me, give me more time to save up for another show! Got IZOD locked upped so .. all is well, look forward to seeing some members again! there.

wow... first post in nearly 5 years.  I promised myself I would not post on a GNR message board until GNR released CD played a show I saw in the US in support of it.

Now that I just bought tix for the Izod show today I think we are close enough!

To me its pretty obvious that Axl is planning a wild day/night in NYC on November 18.  There is a college basketball tournament at MSG that night so there is no way they are playing there and we know how much the band loves NYC.  I am 110% sure there will be a secret (or not so secret) acoustic show in the city on the 18th.  Be ready NYC... I am gonna be scouring the bars and looking for the hookup to get me in wherever they play!

bands skipping NY has happened before..
I know VH recently did it N' played area shows in NJ....
I live in NY, Long Island, N' my problem w/ many NYers is that they feel entitled..Look at next years Super Bowl for example..Being played at the new stadium across from the IZOD Center in New Jersey!! But it's being marketed as NY/NJ....tHEY HAD A RALLY IN tIMES sQUARE n' THE COMMON THEME WAS "We are the greatest City in the world, we deserve a Super Bowl"..Never has a cold city hosted an outdoor Super Bowl...So I'm sure you'll get NYers in an uproar stating how dare GN'R skip NY..Ask them if they are Jets or Giants fans, if so advise them GN'R will be playing in the same parking lot as those teams...

The way I see it, NJ is divided between two states: NY and PA. I used to work in Princeton for my employer. The people in the Princeton office  had more of a Philadelphia/PA feel.   Growing up in North NJ, I had/have more of a NYC attitude.

I've seen a lot of peeps questioning why there's been no MSG date announced, both here and on other forums.  I am surprised nobody else has realized this yet but MSG has been undergoing a MAJOR renovation which is still not complete.  In fact the Rangers will be opening the NHL season with 8 consecutive road games, which will be followed by a lot of home games to catch up.  I believe the garden is not available to any concert until December at the earliest. I do think AXL n the boys will probably hit MSG later in the tour, New Years Eve would be dynamite!!  See MSG rennovations here:  www.msgtransformation.com

At the moment there's scheduled various concerts at MSG from Oct 23 till Dec 16 (Not every day of course).

yeah the Foo Fighers are playing there the week GNR are in the area.  So the arena is open.  But the IZOD show in Jersey IS a NYC show.  It is 10 minutes away!!  People are acting like they are skipping the area entirely.

Exactly! I could see dates in NYC such as MSG or intimate Hammerstein shows next time around, when the second leg (hopefully, this is just my own thought) kicks in around January/February 2012!

Also, it looks as if the NBA could start canceling some regular season games soon. That could free up some dates. Would be kinda short notice for ticket sales though.

It's New Jersey..It is considered a tri-state area show..As far as being approximatelly 10 minutes away that is true I suppose..But now's I's a gotta drive n' not take the LIRR..But it's worth it 4 GN'R!

I'm taking LIRR and then switching to NJ Transit at Penn Station -- http://www.mta.info/lirr/getaways/TrainToTheGame/MeadowlandsService.htm

That way, I can drink at a bar near Penn instead of the parking lot like a SAVAGE.

Taking a train to/from a GN'R show is risky..Two, now that's just asking 4 trouble..I went to the 1st 2 Hammersmith shows N' missed both return trains by mear minutes..N' to top it off instead o' the normal 1 hour wait (back to Ronkonkama) it was a 2 hour wait...One was a weekend schedule (Fri/Sat), the other a holiday (Mothers Day)..Good luck...

I'm a NYer but I just don't see what the uproar is.  The only thing that totally sucks about Izod is that there is no place to go beforehand.  At least at MSG there are tons of bars to hit up in the area.  The area surrounding this place is downright shady and there are no cool hangouts nearby.

Parking lot tailgate again!  I'm going to the show from Brooklyn, IM taking the subway to Port Authority, taking the bus, 5 $ both ways, back, and they do wait and have serive after shows. I should know, lol got stranded by my ride at last GNR show, so found the bus back, no biggie!.lol

There is no uproar..Just a little suprised there is no MSG show, since GN'R usually N' have sold it out on multiple dates..GN'R are ot the 1st band to skip NY, VH did it on their last tour..Perhaps the MSG Union fees N' demands were too much to deal with..
