On the poster, the "North American tour" makes me wonder if 1 or 2 dates in Canada will be booked.

Here's hoping, but I'll probably grab some Detroit tickets just in case 8)

This Norman OK show was not included in the press release, and it's not on the calendar for The Lloyd Nobel Center, yet anyway.

But the Tulsa show was listed on the release and then BOK Center officials told Tulsa World...

The Tulsa date announcement is wrong, said BOK Center officials.

"No, they are not playing Tulsa," said a BOK Center official.

It will be interesting to see where they play.

I heard from a friend who has a suite at the BOK that they are NOT playing there according to the arena booking agents he talked to.  They told him Norman was the only Oklahoma show that they knew of.  Sucks because that was going to ROCK!   :)

Do you see it on a calender now?  When I click on the link above it just says Events & Tickets and the link URL.  I can't click on it, and if I paste it, it says this page not available.  And I still don't see it on the other calendar.

I'm obviously missing something. :D

Thanks, it will probably be up again soon.

I spoke to the venue and they told the Nov. 9th date is not official -- they're still working on it.  They are aware of the event poster, they're not sure where they got their information.  He said it could very well turn out to be the 9th, it will be in Nov., he said to check back later.

Guns N? Roses to play OU?s Lloyd Noble Center Nov. 9; tickets go on sale Oct. 4
A version of this story is set to appear in Wednesday?s The Oklahoman.

NORMAN ? Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-nominated band Guns N? Roses will bring its first U.S. tour in five years to the University of Oklahoma in November.

Frontman Axl Rose and his cohorts will play Nov. 9 at the Lloyd Noble Center, the venue and promoter have confirmed.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, with an online only presale for OU students, faculty and staff starting at 10 a.m. Monday. Prices are $90, $67.50 and $47.50.

Tickets will be available at the OU Athletics Ticket Office, by phone at (800) 456-4668 (GOOU) or online at www.lloydnoblecenter.com and www.zooamp.com.

When the band?s U.S. dates were announced last week, they initially included a Tulsa show. But that was apparently a mistake: The band was not booked and is not expected to play Tulsa?s BOK Center, said Paige Reese, the venue?s director of sales and marketing.

The Lloyd Noble show was initially announced last week at the Zoo Amphitheatre?s Maroon 5 and Train show and the OU-Missouri football game to great response, said Howard Pollack, president of PM Group and Innervisions, in an email. Innervisions Inc./Starrlite Concerts Inc. are promoters for the local show.

Guns N? Roses, which toured worldwide in 2009 and 2010, will spend much of October playing dates in South America and Mexico before embarking on the U.S. tour Oct. 28 in Orlando, Fla.

The trek will be the band?s first stateside tour since the debut of its long-delayed 2008 album ?Chinese Democracy,? which was released 15 years after the band?s previous record, 1993?s ?The Spaghetti Incident??

In 1985, Rose, guitarist Slash, drummer Steven Adler, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin and bassist Duff McKagan founded Guns N? Roses in Los Angeles. The band brought sex, drugs and rock ?n? roll back to the popular music of the era with the release of its first LP, 1987?s ?Appetite for Destruction,? which included the smash singles ?Welcome to the Jungle,? ?Paradise City? and ?Sweet Child O? Mine.?

Inspired by Queen and Elton John, GnR ambitiously released ?Use Your Illusion I? and ?Use Your Illusion II? on the same day in 1991, and the albums debuted in the top two spots on the charts. Rock epics ?November Rain? and ?Civil War? showed how the band?s sound had evolved in a relatively short time frame, and group was soon packing stadiums across the globe.

When the tour wrapped in late 1993, the band paid tribute to their 1970s hard rock, punk and glam heroes with the covers album ?The Spaghetti Incident??

The band took a long break starting in 1994 and went through a major shakeup in personnel. In the new millennium, Rose, who is the only remaining original member of GnR, took a new incarnation on the road. In 2008, ?Chinese Democracy? finally bowed to largely positive critical response and debuted at No. 3 on the multi-genre Billboard 200 chart.

Earlier today (Tuesday), GnR were listed among the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?s 2012 class, along with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Beastie Boys, The Cure, Donovan, Eric B. & Rakim, Heart, Freddie King, Laura Nyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rufus with Chaka Khan, The Small Faces/The Faces, The Spinners, Donna Summer and War.
Along with Rose, the current GnR lineup includes guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron ?Bumblefoot? Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer, according to the band?s Facebook page.
