Guns N' Roses Announce More Cities for U.S. TourTwenty-one cities scheduled so far

By Andy Greene
September 21, 2011 11:25 AM ET DJ Ashba and Axl Rose perform with Guns N' Roses at the O2 Arena in London.Neil Lupin/RedfernsGuns N' Roses have announced more cities for their upcoming U.S. tour. Only seven of the 21 shows have announced venues and dates at this point, but they appear to have at least put the shows in order ? so it's not that hard to figure out roughly when they're coming to town. The U.S. tour kicks off October 28th in Orlando, Florida and ends up in Denver (probably sometime in mid-December), though a press release promises that more "dates, cites and venue information" will be announced soon.

It's also pretty easy to determine what venue they'll hit with the information they have provided. When they come to East Rutherford, New Jersey, it's far more likely they'll hit the Izod Center than the New Meadowlands Stadium or the harness racing track. The same goes for Worcester, Massachusetts. They might play at the parking lot of a Burger King, but more likely it's the DCU Center.

If these Guns N' Roses gigs are anything like their shows throughout the past decade, expect lots of songs from Appetite For Destruction and Chinese Democracy and relatively few from the Use Your Illusion albums. Also, expect the band to take the stage comically late with no one onstage named Slash, Duff or Izzy. You will get a Bumblefoot, a Dizzy and a former member of the Replacements, though.

Here's the current tour itinerary.:

10/28 Orlando, FL  @ Amway Center Arena

10/29 Miami, FL @ American Airlines Arena

10/31 Greenville, SC @ Bi-Lo Center Arena

11/2 Atlanta, GA @ Phillips Arena

Houston, TX

11/5 Dallas, TX @ Gexa Energy Pavillion

Omaha, NE

Tulsa, OK

11/12 Kansas City, MO @ Sprint Center Arena

11/13 Minneapolis, MN @ Target Center Arena

Chicago, IL @ All State Arena

East Rutherford, NJ

Hartford, CT

Wilkes-Barre, PA

Worcester, MA

Camden, NJ

Detroit, MI

Cincinnati, OH

Nashville, TN

Indianapolis, IN

Denver, CO

Is there a topic about meeting up at certain gigs yet?  If not, who here is going to the Houston show whenever that will be?  I'll be there early and hanging out all day hopefully with some of you from here.

Yea, going to see GN'R is good times. Kind of cool them finishing the tour in L.A. (I presume). I am thinking my 8 year old is old enough to go. Really hoping for some new songs off a new album that will hopefully be coming soon. Regardless, good fucking times ahead. Pretty pretty pretty good.

I say bring the 8 year old! I took my brother with me both times I saw them in 2006, and he was 12-13 at the time and loved the shows. (and freaked out people once they realized how young he was) I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the California dates to be announced, though!

It is the Susquehanna Bank Center.  I was just there for Motley Crue.  It's fine once you get into the venue but you have to drive through Camden which is just about the murder capital of the US to get to the place.

I've been to some shows there, mostly festival type stuff during the summer when the lawn seating is open. Driving thru Camden does suck -- a guy from work saw Tool there a few years ago and told me about the ferry that leaves from Penn's Landing (Philly) and takes you to where the venue is in Camden. I've done that a few times. It's a pretty nice boat ride and the parking at the lot on the Philly side is a hell of a lot easier to get in and out of than Camden. Only thing is, the ferry only runs to a certain time i think, but they usually run as long as people are waiting to leave from a show. (it would REALLY suck walking back thru Camden!)

When GNR is playing, it would make me nervous because they usually play late since it is almost a given they will start late.  If you drive make sure you have GPS--my friends got lost leaving the venue and wound up terribly lost in Camden!  I will definitely be hitting at least the East Rutherford show.  Back in the day I would have done every show in the tri state but since I am now the Mom of a 2 year old I have to make sure he can eat first!

Go to as many gigs as you can, you won't believe your eyes and ears... They're THAT good...

those are very good points about camden - arguably the country's most dangerous city. definitely look into the route you need to take to head home afterwards. the signs are awful - i've gotten lost a few times, even when i just try to follow the flow of traffic.

the ferry is great, but it does not run all year so i don't believe that will be an option in November.

i used to hate this venue, but its grown on me a bit over the years. the sound is good if you are in the 100 level, which i expect everyone on here will be (or in the pit). once you get into the middle or back of the 200 level, you really start to feel far from the stage and the sound is somewhat worse IMO.

i'm just so psyched they are playing close to home!

i'm hoping to hit 3 shows. depending on the dates i'll also hit 1or 2 of the WB, NJ, Hartford shows. can't freaking wait!!! :)

Based on this part alone, we know it's altogether incorrect.

To be fair only 5,257 tickets were sold and the arena holds 14,000 so it probably did look pretty empty in there (you gotta remember not every ticket sold puts an ass in the seat since ticket agencies don't usually sell all their tickets).  1,000 is an underestimate but it was probably well under 5,000.

In fact looking at the whole 2006 tour Gn'R only sold out 4 of the 20 arenas they played in America, and only 2 of those 4 had an attendence over 10,000.  Gn'R just isn't a huge draw in America anymore.  Hopefully this time around they are sticking to amphitheaters and smaller arenas so the arenas don't look 33% full.

Looks like the NJ gig is confirmed now for the 17th...I've been checking the Izod website the last few days non-stop and it's finally up! I know this is REAL picky, but I wish it wasn't the same night as the JETS Thursday night NFL game....there are no bars around here...if it was in NYC it woudn't have been a big deal. Oh well.

i was at that show. it was not sold out, but i would estimate about 6,000 people. and the sound was incredible. it was an awesome show. i had three friends there that were sceptical of the band pulling off a great show, but they were totally won over that night. My buddy still talks about that show to this day. He just kept saying how shocked he was that Axl was still pulling off maybe the best live show out there (and this guy goes to alot of concerts). He really thought they had tracks playing to help with certain parts, that's how good they sounded.

Will definitely be at Wilkes-Barre.....wouldn't touch Camden with a 10 foot pole....I was there two years ago for Pearl Jam.  There were people out in the parking lot robbing cars while the concert was going on.  It truly is smack dab in the middle of the ghetto (The ampitheater).  Very scary place.

i've seen many shows at camden, multiple ozzfests, mayhem, weezer, most recently incubus.

it's really not as bad as you guys are making it out to be, it's a 5 minute drive tops thru camden, it's hard to get lost because you can pretty much always see the bridge and that's all you have to go to get back in philadelphia, and it's not even close to being in the middle of the ghetto, it's on the outskirts of the city so much that most people consider the amphitheater to be in philadelphia.. you can see philly from the lawn and you can see the amphitheater from philly.

if you've never been there don't be derailed from going there, it's a nice venue and while it is in a shitty area it's not any worse than say the electric factory, the tla or the troc.

Call up - after 10AM. If you connect before 10AM they won't sell you tickets.

But I've recently seen shows at Izod with really limited selection, and then good ones are released later on.

really?  I have been to Camden at least 20 times and never had a problem.  That parking lot is the most secure lot I have ever seen in my life, and the area around the venue is rolling with cops and very secure.  Honestly, I feel more in danger walking outside of Madison Square Garden than I do Camden...and MSG is as safe as it gets for a big city.  Maybe it was just degenerate Pearl Jam fans that were ripping off cars   :hihi:

it looks like there will be a GA floor for the show at IZOD...Everyone BEWARE, in the past the Izod center has FRONT GA and BACK  GA, pretty much there is a barricade in the middle of the floor and if you have BACK GA you cant pass that barricade.  Be sure to read your tickets over before you buy them!  I am not sure if they still do this, I'm going to a show there on Monday so Ill check it out and let you guys know.  I know a few people who got dicked at the last GNR show because their ticket said GA but it was not FRONT GA, luckily I was not one of them.  The seating chart is not showing 2 different GA sections, but then again they didn't last time either....

I know this is REAL picky, but I wish it wasn't the same night as the JETS Thursday night NFL game....there are no bars around here...if it was in NYC it woudn't have been a big deal. Oh well.

http://www.izodcenter.com/Events/Guns_N__Roses.aspx (ftp://http://www.izodcenter.com/Events/Guns_N__Roses.aspx)

There are bars near by but they are pretty scary!

i've seen many shows at camden, multiple ozzfests, mayhem, weezer, most recently incubus.

it's really not as bad as you guys are making it out to be, it's a 5 minute drive tops thru camden, it's hard to get lost because you can pretty much always see the bridge and that's all you have to go to get back in philadelphia, and it's not even close to being in the middle of the ghetto, it's on the outskirts of the city so much that most people consider the amphitheater to be in philadelphia.. you can see philly from the lawn and you can see the amphitheater from philly.

if you've never been there don't be derailed from going there, it's a nice venue and while it is in a shitty area it's not any worse than say the electric factory, the tla or the troc.

i agree with that. i've never had a problem and there is no reason for anyone to not go because of concerns about the area. i've actually taken my family over there a number of times.

the CAMDEN show might be Saturday, November 26.

i just called the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden. the woman that answered was nice, and very direct:

ME: "i was curious to see if there are any events going on the week of Thanksgiving."
WOMAN: "the night of Saturday, November 26 is on hold for an event, but nothing has been announced."
ME: "what is the event?"
WOMAN: "i can't risk losing my job by disclosing that information."
ME: "is it a family show or a...."
WOMAN: "it's a concert."
ME: "is it guns n roses?"
WOMAN: "i am not at liberty to say who the act is."
ME: "ok, just the one event schedule for that week at this point?"
WOMAN: "yes."

i thought she might give in and kinda let me know that it is gnr, but her voice was steady and she gave no indication that it actually is. so while it certainly could be any other band touring, i think it's very likely that night is being held for GnR. things could change of course, but at least for now, i believe that to be the plan.

this would be so freakin perfect! i hope its true.

Im down for the IZOD Center show. Do you get better tix if you call up over the phone or purchase over the internet ? I want to try to get front row in the lower level, but its so random when you use ticketmaster.

Call up - after 10AM. If you connect before 10AM they won't sell you tickets.

But I've recently seen shows at Izod with really limited selection, and then good ones are released later on.

it looks like there will be a GA floor for the show at IZOD...Everyone BEWARE, in the past the Izod center has FRONT GA and BACK  GA, pretty much there is a barricade in the middle of the floor and if you have BACK GA you cant pass that barricade. The seating chart is not showing 2 different GA sections, but then again they didn't last time either....

really?-- that would suck balls if u waited all day!!  please let us know!

Very scary place.

Wow yeah when my friend and I was there it was horrible....there was a lot of security basically preventing people from tailgaiting before the show.  We left during the last song and could see a few cars with windshields busted and such...then the worst part is the main road to get back across the bridge into Philly was closed due to construction so they were detouring right through the ghetto on a Saturday night at like 1145 pm haha.  It was scary as shit.

Ahhhh, the blanket announcement!

Guns have been good in announcing dates they are still planning.  : ok:

It gives people a better idea as to what is happening.

Then in that case, Wilkes-Barre is almost definitely going to be on either the 18th or 20th.

Wilkes Barre could be the 21st, Worchester on the 23, few day break for thanksgiving, then  Camden on the 26th...this is just a guess on my part obviously

not only that but it's a tiny amphitheater, only holds 7500 people.   you could be in the last row and still get a fantastic view.  it's a great place to see a show, and with the back doors closed it's even better.

if it was between the izod center and SB center i'd go to the bank every time.

Any update on when the East Rutherford show will be announced? The Izod Center website says October 1 for sales. I'm hoping there is a presale. Also hoping more specifics will be released on the Camden show soon.

on 93.3 WMMR this morning, the DJ said a major announcement regarding a Guns n Roses concert will be made on Monday. i think they said it will be announced during their morning show (Preston and Steve show which is on 6-10am).

i'm guessing shows in a bunch of cities will be announced tomorrow with onsale dates for next friday/saturday.

I know it sucks so far on my end since I live in the DC area, looks like there is a possibility around Thanksgiving or after the NJ date on the 26th?

So are they just skipping the west coast? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on plane tickets for the KC show since I can stay with family..but I am sure the day after I do they'll announce a phoenix date...

Wouldn't be the worst thing to see them twice though...
