i needed the Northeast shows to happen AFTER 11/17. this is awesome!!! I hope this is the first of many. Hartford is about 3 to 3 and a half hour drive for me. depending on any NY/Philly/baltimore area shows, there's a very good chance I will head up for this. easy drive up on a saturday.  :beer:

venue looks very cool. i included some info from wiki below. holds 7,500 indoors. it seems similar to a stadium right outside of Philly that alot of bands play (in camden, NJ). this gives me hopes that maybe gnr would play there and that we may get a philly date.

In 1999, on August 7-8, riots broke out in the parking lot of the theater, while they was on stage inside.[citation needed] They recorded their show, on August 27, 2000, which was later released as a live album, entitled Live Trax Vol. 3.

In 2009, the music venue was renamed back to its original name, Meadows Music Theater. Most recently it was known as the New England Dodge Music Center.

According to Live Nation, the amphitheater is now named the Comcast Theatre.

I think there is a "soft" midnight curfew for both the XL Center and the Comcast.  I know there used to be....

Awesome news!! Now comes the hard part, getting in.  It is a small venue, I was there last Sunday for Avenged Sevenfold, 7,500 for the indoor section sounds about right.  I'm going to check out that mobile app thing so I can do the presale on Wed night/ Thurs morning.

Saw them in Hartford years ago..Not much parking in the area if I recall..Arena is sought o' hidden..

This is a different venue though, first time there for GNR.  Parking is much more plentiful, it's not downtown.  Pretty good venue for tailgating too, but that's for outdoor summer shows.  Never been to an indoor show there, so not sure how that works.  7,500 seems a little high for attendance for just the indoor theater, but I'll go with it.

there seems to be 2 presales.  One is a mobile app presale but the only way to download the app is with an Iphone..hopefully I am wrong on that one I am looking into it more.  The second presale which happens on Thursday is a Citi cardholder presale which is the official card of livenation, then the public on sale is Friday. 

I don't have an iPhone or a Citi card.  Not off to a good start here.

Agree.  And I've been at shows in Hartford (at both places) that have gone past midnight.  They don't pull the plug...they just get "snarky".  I know the XL Center....the curfew was always because the event parking lot owners complained (though usually only during the week).

But with the Comcast (Dodge/Meadows/whatever they're calling it this week), that's not really an issue. They have on site parking that can MORE than handle the 7500 people.  Sure, the makeshift event parking is cheaper...but it's not necessary.

The Citi presale will require you to actually HAVE (and, I think, use) a Citibank credit (maybe debit, too) card.  You enter your card number in, much like the AMEX presales.  No password for that one.

The mobile app presale MIGHT have a PW...or it might just make you use the app to order tix.  Not sure.

yeah I'm going to borrow someones Citi card.  I hope I can figure out a way to do that mobile app presale since it is the first one.  Either way, I am not as stressed as I should be because of two factors, 1. I am highly motivated, and 2. Let me caveat that by saying: I've NEVER been to an indoor "rock" show there.  All the big rock concerts I've been to at the Dodge/Meadows/Comcast have been with the "doors" open and the lawn in play.  It's not horrible, but it's not great, either.

Closing it off, though, is probably going to radically change the acoustics, though.  It's VERY small.  They say 7500 people, which sounds about right. In the indoor seating, you sort of feel like you're sitting in the performers laps.  The indoor is MUCH more like a theater setting than an arena.

I've seen a few concerts there...  Motley Crue, STP, etc.  it's an ok place, similar to Providence.

I just got an e-mail from Live Nation about the pre-sale.  It appears those of us without iPhones or Citi cards might be okay, at least from what I can gather.  Just try the password "speaker", and it should work like the others.  Looks like it's a Live Nation/Mobile App. pre-sale, meaning you can use one or the other.  At least I hope so.  I'll be online tomorrow the stroke of midnight, hoping for the best.  I just tried to call into WCCC to win front row tickets, but no luck.  I didn't understand the damn question anyway so I wouldn't have gotten it regardless.  They were doing some contest "Name that Sweet Child".  They gave some random clue, and the answer was Suri Cruise.  I was lost, so I'm glad they didn't pick up on me.  Would've made me look foolish.

Yup it's about 3 hours from you.  I travel from my area through yours every now and then and that's about right.  You'd take 95N to 395N and be in Worcester.  I'm in Rhode Island but only 10 minutes from 395 and another 20-30 from Worcester.

If you did both shows you'd be better off staying over in Hartford...

Not sure about that tweet, the password that worked for me was "speaker".  I am IN.  I'm not sure where my seats are exactly, I'm told in section 600.  I was trying to get the best tickets possible, being quite stubborn as nothing GREAT was popping up.  But I got a call saying, 10 tickets had just been purchased and one had my name on it.  Section 600 is pretty much head on with the stage, albeit towards the back.  But the main point is I'LL BE THERE!  That's all that really matters.

Really impressed with the outcry from my friends to want to be a part of this too.  I've got a friend coming from Syracuse who wanted to get 2 more tickets.  Maybe later.

There are GA PIT tickets for this show!! I don't know if you guys are aware of it, but you have to search the drop down menu for "Section" and it will give you a PIT option!  It is not listed on the seating chart!  I bought tix in the 400's and returned them when my gf got the GA tix.(livenation allows you to retrun tix the day you buy them)  I was trying for 20 minutes to get good seats and had no idea there was a pit...so if anyone is interested there are still some available, good luck!

I just saw Avenged Sevenfold there in the pit, it was small, if you are in the back of the pit it would still be equivalent to a seat in the first 10-15 rows of an arena with seats.

Yes nabbed 4 "PIT2" seats myself. They had a makeshift pit area for the Daughtry show I was dragged to there, didn't seem too big. Hope it is as small as that. Who's ready for this epic show???

I just called the box office, for like the 4th time today.  They must be getting sick of these GNR show related questions.   :hihi: Anyway, the GA Pit tickets are marked that way for tracking purposes only.  Just so they can keep track of how many they sell I guess.  So it IS general admission, you're not assigned to any specific area.

First time on the floor for me, so this is all foreign territory.  How early do you have to get out there to assume your position?

The pit is a small section in front of the seating usually the take out rows a-I. So capacity would be about 500 on floor max.

For a show like this I would just show up at showtime because any spot on the floor is going to be a great spot.  But if you want to be against the railing I would get there at least by 4pm to get a spot somewhere in the front...but like I said, its not really worth it for a show like this because the pit area is so small any spot will be great.  If it were a full arena floor then I would get there early.  Once you are in the front you are stuck there if you dont want to lose your spot, forget going to the bathroom.

Thanks for the tips, Bodhi.  Much appreciated.  I'll probably head in a little before showtime.  And I'll try my best to get my drinking done (mostly) before I head in as well.  I don't want to miss a minute of the action.

One other note to keep in mind that I forgot to mention.  I inquired about parking with the lady from the box office and she conferred that there is no venue parking for the show.  So that could be a bit of an issue.  I'm not 100% sure what that means exactly.  I've been to dozens of OUTDOOR concerts at this venue, that seat 25,000+.  For those shows they have plenty of free parking obviously, where you can tailgate and such.  They also have areas of parking where you can pay, or you can park across the street and walk to the venue.  So it sounds like the big "free" parking lots will not be in play for this show.  So you'll have to park across the street and walk, OR if they have that one lot open where you pay to park.  I've parked there once before.  I guess it makes sense with such a smaller crowd.

As for your tickets Prucc, I'm not certain since I've NEVER sat in a seat at the venue (always done lawn), but section 600 is head on with the stage, so that should be a pretty good view from there.  Depending on what rows you got though, you could be a little closer to the action in section 700.  I'd probably go with the 600 ones though.

I e-mailed Mike Karolyi, DJ on WCCC, the other day about the show in Hartford and he said that he hears ticket sales are going pretty well.  He believes the show should be a sellout by showtime and he thinks Wolfmother may be the opener that night.

that would be freakin killer! wolfmother is a great band. i wonder if that's just a wild guess or if he heard some rumors.

Anybody selling tickets to this show? I'm looking for two seats.

I've got a group of 9 people going to the show this weekend, so I want to make sure everyone has a good time.  A little stressful.  Anyway, I had a few questions so I called the venue to have them answered, if anyone cares to know.  The MAIN parking lot at the venue supposedly will open at 5pm the day of the show, so you should have a good 3 hours of possible tailgating.  I was also told that the venue's policy is to stop serving alcohol one hour before the show ends.  Now, I wasn't about to give the lady a history lesson on the fact that you can never be quite sure when a GNR show is going to end, but it sounds like they should be selling beer up until around midnight or thereabouts.

I have sent all this info out to my cohorts, we'll see what ideas they have.  But I hope to be in that parking lot and in the venue as soon as possible.

I just ordered my tickets this past Friday, I think I got pretty awesome seats, 200 section, right behind the pit. Does anyone know who's opening for GNR? I was kinda shocked to get seats that good.

You can get section 200 row p right now which is great seats.  The must have released a bunch of seats
