I was driving home and just heard on the radio 105.9 fm that Guns n Roses will play American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida on October 29th. 

Well the arena is not booked on that date...

I hope more dates start to come out little by little. I pretty much hate our rock station here in Detroit but I'll be listening as much as I can today in hopes that I can catch a Detroit date.

No matter what happens, I'm buying tickets to ANYWHERE within driving distance; Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Grand Rapids, etc. Anywhere within about 5 hours from Detroit is getting a ticket purchase from me!

As of this morning, nothing on Live Nation or Ticketmaster-hoping for Cleveland and Auburn Hills-my first GNR concerts in 2002 :hihi:

I don't know if this matters, but with the NBA lockout, a lot of arenas will be looking to fill in a lot of events in the fall/early winter.

I only went to Detroit on that tour and in 06 but I'm not making that mistake this time around! I going to as many GNR concerts as I can afford to travel to!


edit: DUH, I forgot that I also went to the first Hammerstein show in 06 as well. But with regard to the "regular" tour dates, I only saw Detroit and that won't be happening again.

I'm excited to hear Guns N' Roses play to Guns N' Roses fans, so a new album isn't even in my mind right now. I got to hear Better, IRS, Madagascar, Chinese, Riad, The Blues and There Was A Time live between 02 and 06 but I still haven't heard the rest of the album that they seem to play on a regular basis live. I'd love to get to hear Sorry and This I Love at a bare minimum live and as much of the rest of the record as they'd like to play!

Plane tickets are CRAZY in the US so I can't really hop a plane to anywhere far away BUT I happen to live in a big enough market that will probably get a show. Then on top of that as I said I've got a couple other places they should (usually do) play that are about a 3 1/2 drive away at the most. So that's very do able.

Let the business people worry about that.

This is a tour for all the US fans, so they can see GN'R live instead of on Youtube. So they can experience a real rock band play live.

There are lot of bands in rnr history who played gigs without new album,or without wish to promote new album.
one of them are the biggest band in history of rnr LED Zeppelin.They played shows for money and their and fans pleasure,and they did albums because Atlantic records wanted it.

It's great to see GNR on road in US,whetever they promote or not promote chinese democracy.

And fuckers stop bashing this amazing live band. I want to see them again in Europe before than a new album.

There's nothing wrong with "hoping" for a new album.  The problem is, like Jarmo pointed out, some people will never be satisfied.  And pardon some of us for lumping you into that category Stoned in LA, but your posts seem to paint you in that light.

IF they did release a new album, that wouldn't be the end of it.  The album would get picked apart.  Utlimately some of the songs wouldn't be good enough, they'd miss Slash, there'd be too many ballads, etc.  Then the setlists would get picked apart.  The size of the venues, the start times, etc.  There's a definite trend.  And there's no problem with questioning things from time to time.  But when the same people do it over and over, it becomes a bit tiresome to the rest of us.

 I suggest everyone check the websites of their local radio stations, Venues ect. I remember back in '06 I was just randomly browsing the hard rock hotels website and saw 2 shows listed. Before it was announced on Radio, here, from the band, ect.

I hate the local rock station in Detroit (one of their DJs totally ruined the pre-party in '06) but I've still been checking their website and listening to them a lot of today in hopes of catching news on the Detroit date. Yep. The record I've listened to the most so far in 2011 is Wasting Light by the Foo Fighters. I had tickets to see them here in Detroit on September 19th but I can't go now because I have to fly to Florida that day for work. I was SO bummed about that because I was thinking it was gonna be the biggest rock show for me in 2011.

Three years  ::) How long did it take Guns to release CD? There has been no US tour subsequent to CD's release, so why assume Guns are touring in support of a forthcoming album when they have never toured properly for CD in the US.

Guns touring the USA is an extraordinarily good thing, and I doff my hat to whoever within GN'R made it happen.

I'm all over that too. Not only is it only about a 4 hour drive for me, but I've got friends in that area I can stay with and they'll wanna see GN'R too!

I'm sure it'll be at Allstate Arena again, since that's been GNR's Chicago venue in 1992, 2002, 2006.   There's lots of open dates in November, so they'll have their pick.  Nothing's showing on the calendar yet, but I've been checking  back...frequently.

I wish.  Logistics just just isn't going to allow it.  I live in Rhode Island and we are already planning on going to Fort Myers the weekend of Nov 5th for a wedding.  Maybe they will do a few shows in FL and I will be able to catch one of them.  Although I have a friend how gets awesome seats to this particular venue for free.

I agree that Stoned have put out many negative posts, but banning a man for beeing negative is childish....If he was on this forum just for the trolling I would agree, but I don't believe he is.

Look at it on the bright side; Stoned is probably an middle-aged man, old enough to witness Guns n' Roses in the 80's. As a lot of other "grown-up" rock fans he is suffering from the "back-in-the-day"-syndrome. But unlike a lot of others with the "back-in-the-day"-syndrome he still bother to attend a show with the new line-up, as he is gonna make the 5 and a half hour drive to Miami. And as he is hoping for a new album he is obviously interesting, and to some certain degree still admiring Gn'R.

So here's my current thought; I'm guess that as next weekend approaches that more radio stations will have more info about stuff going on in their area too.

For as much as I hate WRIF (The local rock station in Detroit) they do play a heavy amount of live GN'R on their own even when there's no promo going on. So I'd love it if they did the same type of thing this station in Miami is doing.

That's a good call, but like a girl at my local supermarket who commentated on my Gn'R shirt yesterday, is a typical media believing follower who gets sucked into the fashionable "bash Axl and his hired hands" mode.  I told her, look at the concert footage on youtube, listen to CD and then form your opinion, I'll respect that, but to base opinion on hearsay is just madness. I've seen the band a good few times since Donington 88 and have to say the last show at the O2 in October was the best yet.  The AFD (and Illusions) line-up whilst being super cool, were prone to not being 100% together at times and it showed, this isn't the case these days, and the music is the benefactor as such because of this. We as fans that go to shows come away happy to have paid our hard earned cash for a show that ? for ? is worth second of the gig.  I'm so pleased the USA are gonna get something they've waited for years and I suppose a "thank you" to Azoff finally playing ball is order at last... :)

keeping my fingers crossed that this is part of a full US tour with dates in the NE. I plan to take a few days off from work to travel to any shows within about 3-4 hours of philly. i want to catch at least 3, but ideally it'll be 4-5. i'll be looking at shows as far north as albany and CT areas and south to about DC. plenty of big markets in that area so it shouldn't be hard to find some shows that will work with my schedule. i'm really hoping there's a show near philly - i'll need at least 8 tickets, maybe as many as 12. and half of those friends would be seeing GnR for the first time. and an AC show would be killer! would love to see them at the borgata.

A radio station in Miami is reporting that Guns N? Roses have booked a show at that city?s American Airlines Arena on Oct. 29. The band has not announced any other shows yet, so it appears that this particular performance may be a one-off. Or it could be a leaked date that is part of a larger trek. Truthfully, it?s anyone?s guess when it comes to this temperamental, hard-to-predict crew.

Big 105.9 reports that tickets are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, Sept. 9 at 10 AM at the box office, Ticketmaster locations and via ticketmaster.com. G N? R are famous for showing up late, canceling shows and causing fans to riot in their seats due to the band?s tardiness, even earning themselves a spot on our 10 Worst Concert Mishaps and Tragedies list. They ave not played a show on American soil since Aug. 13, 2010.

On that evening, they headlined the fifth and final night of the Rock ?N Rev Festival at the 70th annual Sturgis Bike Rally in Sturgis, S.D. That was the band?s first U.S. appearance in four years. Somebody mentioned the NBA lockout and the fact arenas will be empty and more shows might happen. It's not that simple. The NBA schedule for the season 2011/2012 is already out and I'm guessing shows will not get booked on the same nights as when teams are supposed to play. Cause if the lockout stops in the middle of the tour there will be a conflict between NBA games and GN'R shows. So yeah, NBA lockout doesn't help a GN'R tour in America.

Not BIG news, but just listened to the latest edition of "6 Concert Questions With Karolyi and Koplik" from August 19th and Koplik again said that IF Guns decides to tour they will probably play CT sometime this fall.  He said that they're talking with them and he's hopeful.

I just emailed Karolyi and another DJ at WCCC in Hartford to see if they anything more.  I doubt it, but worth a shot.

I really expected to look at almost all GNR forums and see a bunch of people claiming the sky is falling because this was taken off the radio stations web site. I haven't checked mygnr yet, but I was just on gnrevolution and I'm glad to see the positivity!

I'm willing to bet that you're all correct and that an announcement will come from the band first and then the station will throw that contest back up.

Just listened to the first 40 minutes or so of Eddie Trunk's Sirius/XM show, I'm taping the rest to listen to tomorrow. Anyway, he mentioned the GNR US tour rumors and said that he's heard from credible sources that they're working on scheduling shows. He again brought up the midwest (must be where his contact has connections) and he mentioned Oklahoma specifically as a probable date on the tour. He did say that nothing is official, but he cited Richard leaving Thin Lizzy to concentrate on Guns. So all signs are pointing in a positive direction.

On an unrelated note, Sebastian Bach is calling into the show around 9 to talk about his new album and the destruction of his home due to the Hurricane.

I put the following to Jim Koplik (of Live Nation):

Comcast Theater would be AWESOME!  I've never actually been to an INDOOR show there.  Nice and close to home, though tickets might be pricey seeing as it's a smaller venue.

Ticket prices seem pretty reasonable. It's gonna be an interesting next couple of weeks as more dates (hopefully) appear!

Guns N' Roses Announces South Florida Concert! Yeow-za!

Guns N Roses are reportedly coming to South Florida at the end of October. They were the biggest, baddest band of the late '80s, and despite Axl Rose's biker shorts and baseball catcher fetish, the GNR of that era is one of the best live acts of all time. From Slash's cigarette dangling solos to Duff's mad sprints across the stage to the dozens of auxiliary musicians playing flutes, keyboards and tambourines, their live sets were totally worth all the BS Axl put the fans and the rest of the band through.

 If we know anything about Axl we know that he is a stickler for perfection. He took 14 years to make Chinese Democracy. That seems a little crazy, but we're talking about a guy who swims with dolphins after diving into the ocean from an aircraft carrier. Axl does whatever the hell he wants, and he cannot be rushed.

 Despite the mass exodus of all the original members, we still want to Axl and the new Guns play their classics live. If you saw them on the 2002 VMA's you may have noticed that music sounded perfect, and even though Axl didn't. He's definitely in better shape now, just check this video of him and the boys live at Reading last summer. His just-got-off-a-cruise braids are gone, and he's lost a little weight, and he's bringing back some of the signature Axl dance moves.

Actually, just getting to see Axl dance "The Serpentine," "The Kickstarter" or "The Winding Man" will probably be worth the cost of admission. Of course, GNR purists are bummed and upset that Izzy, Slash and Duff are not part of the team anymore. We have to admit, we wish they were there, too; but, that doesn't take away from the compulsion we have to see what Axl is like live.

The current version of GNR is an all star team of rockers. Dizzy's been tickling the ivories for Rose & Co. since '93, making him the veteran of the squad. Dude, they have Tommy Stinson from the Replacements on bass, we gotta see that -- damn, we are gonna blast "Kids Don't Follow" until we watch another Axl clip. Midi-control/computer wiz kid, Chris Pitman is on top of all the special effects, and this guy has worked Dr. Dre and Tool; too legit.

Slash's replacement Buckethead's replacement is Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. We'll just call him Bumblefoot or B-Face, he's a virtuouso from the Joe Satriani school of over the top shredding. He's even finger tapped all over a jam by Jessica Simpson. Drummer, Frank Ferrer has rocked with Love Spit Love and Psychedelic Furs, giving the beats and the band a little more street cred. Check all these dudes playing "Mr. Browstone" at the Rose Bar last year.

Another reason we want to go: we still do not know what to make of Axl Rose. He is intriguing, confusing and reclusive. We don't know what he's into, or if he even listens to any music that's being made today. We don't know if he's seen a movie since Terminator 2, or if someone brings movies to him, so he can privately screen them in the Axl compound. We do know, he dances like a sexy snake, has a voice like a warrior and will never stop being Guns N Roses.

Guns N? Roses have been touring the world for the past year and a half, travelling to almost every corner of the earth ? except their native North America. But, the band have now announced a single date in Miami, which is incidentally scheduled for the end of the iconic band?s South American tour ? could GnR be on the verge of a massive US tour?

Following 2008?s multimillion dollar album Chinese Democracy, the new-look rock outfit have been on and off touring with clustered trips across the world, rarely stopping in their own country. In the past eighteen months, the band have played just once in the US ? but things look set to change, after they announced on a Miami radio station that they would be performing in America once more.

Guns N? Roses are headlining Rock In Rio on October 2nd, before embarking on a nine-date tour across the South American and Mexico, which will take them to Chile, Argentina and Paraguay before their final date in Monterrey on October 23rd. Then, just six dates later, the band will rock out the American Airlines Arena in Florida on the 29th ? leaving a clean slate ahead for a possible US excursion.

This comes just a few months after DJ Ashba, the current lead guitarist of Guns N Roses, admitted the band were in talks to get the band back to their home country.

Any ideas when/if we'll get a full slate of US tour dates?  I'm getting anxious enough to buy a ticket to Miami!

If the usual rules apply, (some) dates will be announced within the next week, tickets will go on sale second week Nov for early shows. (Please note that this is based on experience rather than any knowledge.)

A little tom-foolery with early tour dates is commonplace with alot of bands (hence the ticketmaster on and off). It alerts the fans that something is about to happen.

Fan presales for forum/internet users would be a good thing, my opinion.

Considering Ticketmaster listed an on sale date late next week for this show, I would assume the show, and possible some other shows, would be announced before then?

Yeah, usually multiple dates go onsale at the same time, so I expect that we should get more dates sooner than later.

I'd love to see it happen! History tells us sometimes promoters, though venue still has nothing, can be overzealous in stating things based on a 'discussion'. This would be a great gig, may even have to fly down for this one!

If anyone here goes a word of sound advice, take heed. The arena is nice, and the immediate area around is the financial district, nice. (I lived there, used to work on Brickell) Stay in that area before show. Eat, drink, be merry. When the show is over get the hell on 95 North and don't exit until you get to Hollywood, seriously.

If you live or are staying in the "Scarface" mansions of Coral Gables, or just heading south, you're ok as well.

It has been.  Apparently it's been off and on a couple times.  I wouldn't get too worried about that though.  I think the show is legit and will eventually find a permanent home on ticketmaster.  That time is just not now.

In the writer's defense, his statement is true. He says within the last year and a half. The shows in canada were over a year and a half ago.

Continents mean nothing, yes, that's correct. Look if you could just go to Canada without a passport, long lines of stopped traffic at customs, dogs at Rainbow Bridge, etc., etc., then yeah us Americans might view it all as one big place. (Different government and currency aside)

For the record I love Canada, went to the falls a month ago with gf, amazing place! No, though, not part of USA by any stretch.

Hell yes. I was thinking about it and the two biggest cities I could commute to for a show (Chicago and Cleveland) would make for a good party trip as well. Probably not as cool as Miami, but you get the idea.

I see no problem there. Hotel rooms usually have internet access and tickets usually go on sale at 10AM or something like that. Either you wake up and order the tickets, or you stumble into the hotel room from an awesome night and order tickets  :hihi:

Very excited about the Miami show.... hopefully Axl & Co. hit MSG in NYC again this time around.  The 2002 and 2006 shows there were KILLER.

The only time I've seen them in NYC was the first Hammerstein show. I'd still love to catch them at MSG sometime.

Now the dilema... do I charge it to Miami from S. California or do you hope for a west coast show?  These are the problems i love from the GNR camp!
