Title: Guns N' Roses to play at Bolivia & Paraguay? Post by: Manets on July 06, 2011, 12:26:10 PM Guns N' Roses concert in Bolivia, which will take place in October, may take place in Santa Cruz, and not La Paz, as planned.
Producer Abel Espejo said everything is ready for the arrival of the legendary rock group leaded by Axl Rose, but not in the capital La Paz. "Our original intention was to hold the concert on La Paz, which is the most important place of the country, But the governement won't give permission for us to use the Hernando Siles Stadium, which would be the perfect place for a event that big", said Espejo. The producer explanied that, if they can't use the stadium, La Paz would lose the opportunity to host one of the biggest musical events in the country. The governement said that the stadium can't be used because it has to be repaired. The social communication area explained that the sports area has to be ready for the FIFA 2014 BRAZIL WORLD CUP qualifyings. Espejo said that the place is not defined yet "We are looking for options to host the event at La Paz, we want it there", said the producer. I took my wife there 5 years ago. La paz at altitude will be interesting...hope Axl doesn`t get too out of breath. I hope for the bolivian people they get the concert they deserve.

Back in the day I didn't think it was possible to have a GN'R concert in my country cuz as a member wrote we are indeed a poor country, not as poor as you might think but we have never had a great rock band playing in here. So when I first read about it I was super exited but being realistic I still won't believe it till the official GN'R pages confirm it. I can just mention Deep Purple, the reformed The Doors, Vince Neil and more recently Scorpions. P.O.D. was supposed to come earlier this year but if finally didn't happen.
I'm crossing fingers fo this to happen, I remember years ago visiting this board and reading rumours like this for Asian tour that were confirmed just few months before the shows, hopefully it will be the same thing over again. About the altitude issues I'm not sure if ever one artist has complain about it, just national soccer teams (Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay).
