Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Does anyone else ever win anything from their local radio stations? I've always seemed to have exceptional luck when it came to that, but this year has just been nuts. I listen to KOMP 92.3 in Las Vegas, I've been winning non-stop, haha. Here's what I can remember since the beginning of the year. Gotta say it's pretty nice to do something every single weekend for free! Note: the dates indicated are the date that I won, not the date of the event. Also, I copied and pasted from an excel file I started to keep track.

It's all about the game of luck and you my friend seem to be on a winning steak : ok:.

Speed-dial is key, but sometimes it can be too fast for your own good.

I know most stations around here always say "limit one contest per month" etc. so people LIKE YOU don't steal my prizes!

Hahaha, this one doesn't have a limit. But I know it has a lot to do with my phone. I call from my work line which connects and disconnects instantly. I can NEVER get through on my cell. I'll keep this thread updated with my new winnings, hahaha. Funny though, everyone tells me I should gamble, then I just tell them, I'm losing nothing by picking up the phone, but I'd probably lose my ass if I had money involved!

I just dial, but on my work phone. I can have one finger on the hang up button, and one on redial, and just keep hitting them really fast unstil it starts ringing.

Yeah, it's cause nobody else listens to that station since they changed formats to "top 50 boy bands of all time".

Just won tickets to the KOMP Kegger. It's a pool party they throw every year. This year it's at the M resort and they're having Adelitas Way, Cold, Deep Dark Robot and a local band 333 playing. THey set up a bunch of TV's with different video game systems and have pool tabels and all that. It's a pretty good time. It used to be at the Hard Rock, but that sucked cause it was too small, especially if you wanted to see the bands.

Oh shit, you have no idea, lol. They've actually called me before asking if I was gonna be at an event, and I've said i couldn't because I've won something the DAY BEFORE for that same night. I've pretty much been busy for the last few months, every weekend. However, it's NOT free...lol. The tickets may be free, but the beer is expensive as SHIT! hahaha

Well this one even surprised me. Yesterday when I won Motley tickets, I couldn't tell my roomate because I knew she really wanted to go, but so did my Girlfriend. Naturally, I'm gonna take my gf. So I called my roomates boyfriend, and he decided he was gonna buy a couple. But we decided to wait until Friday, because I would try win a couple more. Sure enough, I won two more this morning and gave the station my buddys name so he could pick them up, lol. So now everybody gets to go!  ;D

So this morning on my way to work, I'm listening to KOMP as always. The morning show guys are on vacation, and they only thing they mentioned giving away today was Rush tickets.....well, since I already won those, I switched to 97.1 when I got to work. So I'm sittin here, and I notice they say be caller 7. So I dial, and it rings and rings and rings. Then I hear "The Point, who's this?" I say I'm Heath. They ask what I'm up too and continue to bs a bit...then I go "Wasn't I supposed to be caller 7 or something?" And they go "You are!" ..............I won four two-day park hopper passes for Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventures. I just looked up the prices, and it would cost exactly $692 to buy these. On top of that, since I won those, I'm entered into a drawing for a three night trip to Disney that includes airfare and hotel for four people. First day listening to a different station, first time trying to win from them, and BAM! Holy shit.

Just got more Rush tickets. Anyone live in Vegas that wants to go?

So.....Friday when I went to pick up my Gilbert Gottfried tickets, I walk in the the Receptionist says "Hey Heath, I was going to call you today, but I figured I'd see you" I asked why she was going to call....Turns out when I won those tickets, I was entered in a drawing for a one night stay at the Lodge on Mount Charleston with a $50 voucher to their steakhouse.

Yesterday afternoon I won tickets to The Titanic Artifact exhibition. Then last night I picked up a Lake Mead Sightseeing cruise for two, hahaha. I've been on a roll this weekend.

I saw the Titanic thing when I was in Vegas, it was really nifty, I enjoyed it, well most of it, a huge flying Beetle Bug flew down the back of my husbands shirt and I was so horrified I could not get it out, thank goodness for the help of a brave soul!!

Yeah, I'm curious to see it. I hate those flying beetle things!!! They're all over right now, haha. They're loud too!

It had rained hard the day before we were there and  so they say those big beetles come with the rain, I guess.  It was wierd cuz we saw it crawling around on the floor and took notice cuz it was so big lol... never expected it to get inside Scott's shirt, he never even felt it fly in.  Hope I never see them again. 

Not to get off topic, but another time when we were visiting we had a cricket wake us up in the middle of the night as it was so so loud, it was behind our headboard, and the headboard was attached to the wall itself, Scott was so mad at it and couldn't get to it, so he pretty much pulled the headboard off of the wall, and I swear the cricket was about 3 inches long, I don't know what it is about Vegas but you guys grow some killer insects lol....

So I bet when GNR tours in Vegas you shall win your tickets to that show as well....

Actually, when I went to STP, I sat next to one of the morning show DJ's. .We got to talking about Gn'R, he's the type that dismissed the new band from the beginning. Anyways, I kept saying how great they were live, so he said when they came to town, he'd get the tickets and we'd go together. Hahaha. BUt if he didn't say that, I'd still have to buy my Gn'R tickets, I could never leave that one up to chance.

The tattoo gift certs are a wast though. I can't combine them, and the places prices are so damn high, I could get the same thing done someplace else for way less, more than $50 less.

Where was the tat certificate for?  Scott and I always go to "Tattoo Heaven" down by the Stratosphere, all my tats are from there except 1.  Just curious :P.

Hi! Forgive me, I'm a bit under the weather (influence) but hte place was called "Chrome Gypsy Tattoo". The tat I got quoted ther was $350......I just got quoted at my place for $150.....Goodnight!!

This morning I picked up a couple passes to a screening on "God Bless Ozzy Osborne" And a couple hours later I picked up a 4 pack of tix to "Final Destination 5" along with a $40 gift cert to Buzz Bbq.

Also, last Friday I was the right caller and I had to pick the winners of 3 football games. The Sunday day game of my choice, I picked Detroit to win. Then the Sunday night game, picked Atlanta :) And tonight if the Giants win, I win $100 :)

Won some Cheech and Chong tickets!!! Hell yeah! Can't wait! About a half hour after that I won tix to the Guess Who. I would go, but it's the same night as Cheech and Chong.

It was years ago, mid-90s or so, I won a few singles from a newish radio station they said are of some top quality hit singles. I received the package and it was absolutely crap, no-one can't have heard of those bands. Feeling betrayed I phoned them and got them to send something better. I received Scorpions and something else that was on the charts :hihi:

On Tuesday I won a $25 gift cert to Halloween Mart, 2 passes to a haunted house, and 2 movie passes. Today I won a wristband to be first in line for Ozzy's book signing tonight! And a copy of his book :)

Haha, I was talking to one of the DJ's at KOMP about Gn'R.....he said since it's New Years Eve (and now the 30th) that he doesn't know if they'll get tickets for the show. He said the Hard Rock is kinda stingy when it comes to comped tickets. (He's supposed to hook me up though, he said way back in February he'd give me tickets if they came to Vegas)  But, if he flakes on me, and they do give them away, I'll  do my damnedest to win some. I already got mine covered, but my girlfriend said she wants to bring her son.

Well, might as well add this!

First, early last week I won a pair of tickets to the Maaco Bowl (I don't pay attention to pro football, much less college, so I sold them for $130, a $25 gift cert to stupid.com and a $25 cert to Buzz BBQ.

THEN, and now I don't know if this really qualifies as a "win" since it was handed to me, but the radio station called ME and gave me 2 tix to Gn'R on the 30th at the Joint, a room at the Hard Rock, and a $200 gift cert to 35 Steaks and Martinis (The Hard Rocks Steakhouse)

I've had 51 wins this year. I'm hoping for one more so I can say I won on average once a week. :) I'm up to about $7000 worth of free stuff for the year.  : ok:
