If this is true, and the US don't get their tour this year, I have to say I feel sorry for them. Especially after already doing SA, on the last leg. I know things don't always work out or whatever, so I don't need people correcting me, it's just my opinion.

I do know that South America loves GN'R, but you have to feel that the US is long overdue.

Are these "rumors" just a spin-off from Tommy's Twitter post?

September/October are a long ways away.

They could easily do US shows in June/July.

Speaking of, there aren't a lot of good summer rock shows announced in North America for this summer so I'm really hoping they do something!

You know I did think that when Rio started to get strongly rumoured, but now with this Argentina rumour also circulating as well, I feel there might be something in it. I said this about the European tour in 2010, when dates started to get rumoured, which is "there's usually no smoke with fire".


Yes, you are right jarmo and I might be slightly premature in saying that a US tour is not likely to happen this year. But, I was debating with myself why we are starting to hear yet more rumours about South American dates again, before we have had any sort of rumours or even any indication of any US dates.

I actually do think GN'R will tour the US this year, but with all these "other" rumours now springing up, you have to start thinking that time does indeed fly. And if there was any plans to do a couple of months in the US around summertime, you would have to think that they would need to start planning or arranging these dates pretty soon.

Summer's booked here in the US. If they're coming it's not going to be until Fall.

What if they play the US and then SA again? You know, we didn't have a proper tour since the illusions before the 2010 tour. If they confirm it, fucking great! I really want to see them getting more exposure here in South America, especially with the proshot (usually all the "Rio" RIR main shows are broadcast'd live here), so people will get to know this kickass band. Fingers crossed!

Summer is not "booked" - bands can always announce plans late. Tool announced shows in May for last summer. STP did some very last minute tour dates in August. Rarely does every day a venue is a available see it filled. There are barely any summer tours officially announced for this summer and after the beating the concert industry took last summer in the U.S. there may not be much going on at all this year.

i think any shows in the USA will be sorted after the thing with Azoff is dealt with, if they play Rio in october they might do some in aug/sep as a kind of warm up to the big party in RIO  :beer:

Well with the confirmed Rock In Rio date, any more South American show rumours hold alot more weight than they did prior. I think it's seems logical to play a few more shows in that region around the time of the festival, I mean why not, you South American fans are some of the best in the world.  8)
