"Celebrity Rehab" -- The Return of Steven Adler

If at first you don't succeed ... try, try again -- and with that idea in mind, Steven Adler is going back for another season of "Celebrity Rehab" ... TMZ has learned.

Adler appeared on season two of "Rehab" and the first season of the spin-off show "Sober House" back in late 2008, early 2009. Adler then went on to stints in real rehab centers after being ordered to by a judge as part of a DUI bust.

We're told Adler will join the likes of Michael Lohan, Jeremy Jackson, Dwight Gooden, Michaele Salahi and Bai Ling on the latest season of Dr. Drew's show.

I thought Steven Adler was sober. ???

I know he has said that he relapsed twice since leaving Celebrity Rehab the first time. I guess he's gone back to drugs a third time now :(

Either that or he needs the money/publicity. Don't they pay something like $250,000 for one season?

not sure if he is back on drugs, but this is the exact reason why he needs to get the reunion idea out of his head.  There was a reason he was dismissed from the band in the first place.  This is more of a reason than any that if there is ever a reunion(which is a huge if) it should be Matt on drums.

I saw Adlers Appetite this last August, he did not seem at all out of sorts, in other words "sober", I believe they were drinking soda and water that evening.  Good to know he is still on the right track :).

I think it's more about the money/exposure than it is about him needing help.  Not to demean his battle with sobriety, but that's my take.

I think you're right. I also think that show is getting hard up for "celebrities". Last season had one of Tiger Woods' mistresses and Keyshia Cole's mother (I'd barely heard of Keyshia Cole) on it.

To be fair though, Rachel Uchitel was THE original Tiger Woods mistress that was paid millions by Tiger to keep quiet.  And most of all, she's hot as hell.  I agree on Keisha Cole's mom though.  I stiil don't know who Keisha Cole is.

Not altogether untrue BUT when u are an addict the level of Adler, checking in and getting a tune up is a great idea. He will never be out of the woods. so just going for the positive reinforcement and therapy alone will serve him well.

I guess we will find out when it airs in early June. I'll watch it, unless they portray Steven badly.

And how exactly are you gonna know that without watching it?

I agree- although it may be "cool" to bash Dr. Drew, it is real rehab & I've learned quite alot watching the show ahout the rehab process & what addicts go thru as I'm sure many other people have as well.

its exploiting once famous people and paying them to expose themselves on National TV and then they use THAT money to buy drugs once they get out and acquire another run fame wise.

also, i never say anything to appear "Cool" on this forum for the past 7 years or however long.. people may agree or disagree but i can guarantee what I post is 100 percent how i feel.

what turned me off was the big Mike Starr thing... Mike had terrible days where he was at his lowest moments and didn't want to be on camera. IF they cared about Mike, they would've taken the camera off him but NO, ratings would not allow such a meltdown to happen in private. they put the SHOW and RATINGS above the well being of the patients.

I understand they have to film for a TV show, but some moments, the patients should be allowed to request no filming.

I don't know, I can see both sides of the argument.  Do I think it's the most effective way of getting treatment?  Absolutely not.  Most celebrities seem to do it for the fame and fortune foremost and getting better is secondary.  And while the Mike Starr's and Jeff Conaway's have passed in recent years, others have seemed to have benefited from the "treatment".  So I don't think you could label it as completely useless.  Hell, Mike Starr was even brought back the following season as an example of someone who was doing well after being on the show. 

And I have never been drawn to drugs myself, at least in a serious sense, but seeing Steven Adler high searching for his room and unable to stand.  That right there was enough visual evidence for me to never try smoking heroin, or anything of the like.  Chances are pretty good I wasn't going down that path anyway, but that sealed the deal.  I can't say how other addicts may have felt about seeing something that dramatic, but it's possible it could've had a similar effect.

Former UFC champ Ricco Rodriguez's appearance on Celebrity Rehab, helped a good friend of mine confront his demons.

Yea seeing Mike Starr and Leif Garrett, and Tom Sizemore on there made me never want to mess with heroin.  Sometimes it seems to be glorified in the rock scene, but this shows the harsh reality of being addicted.   I also like the bond that the celebrities form with eachother while they are there.  I doubt most of them would be able to afford a real rehab anyways, plus it makes them feel like they have a little bit of fame again,  it really can encourage them if they take it seriously.   I think there have been a few positive stories like Rodney King.
 

im not necessarily saying it doesn't work for some BUT it is exploitation and Dr Drew getting rich and famous off other's diseases.

I watched it last night...pretty funny.   The only thing most of these people are addicted to is "fame".  Amy Fisher is pretending to be an alcoholic, when she is obviously just a social drinker.   Same with Bia Ling pretty much too...she is kind of cute though.  It's like "oh my god I got too drunk a few times...I'm an alcoholic!" lol   Also, Jennifer seems like she is laughing when she is supposed to be crying( I forgot how annoying she is).   You'd of thought Steven Adler was the devil when he made his appearance lol  It's a shame about Hobie being on there...I thought he learned his lesson from that episode of Baywatch with the drunk stunt biker.

Amy Fisher has some major issues that go much deeper than alcoholism.  And I just knew that her husband (Lou Bellera) would get himself involved somehow.  He's been on The Stern Show with Amy a few times and he always gets into heated discussions with callers defending his wife. 

Sounds like Bai Ling had some pretty difficult times growing up as well, as far as abuse goes.  And Steven certainly didn't come off too well in the first episode without even appearing.  I thought he was doing well, but apparently he got back on the sauce, possibly among other things.  And I agree, Jennifer seemed a little over the top calling Steven a monster, but she's entitled to her opinion.  If that's how she really feels, you can't really argue with her.

Hobie, good lord, he had a laundry list of steroids that he was taking.  Stuff they give to cattle pre-slaughter!  What in the hell would drive you to take something like that?

Steven Adler causes a panic on 'Celebrity Rehab' season premiere

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler created quite a stir on last night's season opener of Celebrity Rehab. Upon hearing that the troubled drummer was checking in again, rehab technician Jennifer Gimenez had a panic attack, stating, "He's just a monster to me."

Steven Adler isn't mentioned in this, but Jeremy Jackson was on The Howard Stern Show earlier this week.  He says "Celebrity Rehab" was great for him and helped him out a lot, among other things.  Like smelling Pamela Anderson's swimsuit back in the "Baywatch" days, looking at her editions of "Playboy" and pleasuring himself.  Your normal run of the mill stuff.  :hihi:

My point on the exploitation aspect... Amy was clearly having a bad day so just fuck off for a bit camera men.. but NO they have to antagonize her to get the drama for ratings sake. they put that over the patient's health.

I have a real hard time feeling sorry for Amy Fisher.  Usually I feel bad for all these people for all they've been through, and put themselves through.  But I can't find it within me to feel an ounce of compassion for Amy Fisher.  She never seems to want to take any of the blame for what has happened in her life and she never wants to talk about what happened when she was 16.

I'm sorry honey, but if you didn't shoot someone in the head when you were 16, no one would know who the hell you are.  So either get ready to talk about it, or go away and stay out of the spotlight.  There's just something wrong with her being on any show with the word "Celebrity" in it.

Oh, and you could see Steven apologizing to Jen a mile away.  That sure didn't take long.

Who would have thought that Adler would be outspoken and unsympathetic towards Amy Fisher?   :hihi:  Seriously, though, this season is really hard to watch.  I just don't really care about most of these people.   Even Adler is kind of coming off bad, I thought he was a little out-of-line towards Amy Fisher.  Sean Young is really boring for some reason, and half of the other cast didn't even speak last night.

Agree about Steven being a bit too harsh with Amy Fisher.  I am no fan of hers, but there've been plenty of people on that show that refuse to admit they have a problem.  She's hardly the first, and I'm sure that goes on in rehabs all over.  Steven seems to have some pretty huge mood swings.  One minute he can the happiest, easiest going guy in the world and the next minute he's the "monster" that Jen describes.

I get the feeling that Steven is an easy guy for the producers to push buttons with. Most of these shows are borderline scripted. He's their go-to drama king.

Steven Adler has a meltdown on 'Celebrity Rehab'

Steven Adler to Amy Fisher: "I cannot believe for one bit that that you shot somebody in the head and you went to a jail that was as nice as this or nicer than this!" an outraged Adler exclaimed. "I can't believe that! Because no jail is this nice."

In a later group the rehab patients were going around the circle, each addict identifying as an alcoholic or an addict - a key component of treatment. Fisher declined to do so, saying, "I'm just listening right now . . . I just don't have anything to contribute right now."

"You wouldn't be here right now if there was nothing wrong," Adler challenged her. He then told counselor Shelly Sprague, "If she doesn't have a problem, she shouldn't be here. Why the h*ll is she here in a f**king rehab then?

"It's wasting your time and our time," he continued, adding, "I guarantee you the things she's done, I've done - except for shooting somebody in the head." Sprague deemed that a step too far, asking the drummer to leave the group and return to his room, while Fisher sobbed, "He just hates me, and I never did anything to him!"

Sprague tried to comfort Fisher, telling her she was doing all right as a newcomer to the process. That didn't sit well with Adler, a rehab veteran. "Don't lie to her!" he yelled. "Don't say she's doing all right! If she doesn't say anything, she's not gonna get better!"

Sprague again asked him to return to his room, while a visibly distraught Fisher cried, "Why does he hate me? I can't stay here, I'm going to have to leave."

Even though Adler was a dick again to Amy Fisher...I still thought he was really sweet to that family who lost their son.  You could see his face while they were talking, and you could tell that Adler related.  I'm glad he was finally looking at it from the outside, this time, cuz he could have met the same fate.  Dwight Gooding is pretty sweet too, I'm rooting for him.

I see where steven's coming from.. if u are trying to get clean and be honest.. its hard to be vulnerable when one asshole is being closed off.. it kills the entire open vibe of a situation.

Some ppl just don't learn.  If I were that cop, I would have beat his ass again. lol

I can understand his frustration, but like the counselors and other patients keep saying, she can't be forced to admit she's got problems.  She has to do it on her own time.  And she DID it, once Steven left the room.  It's obvious the 2 of them aren't going to get along.  I'd like to see if Steven would act the same towards a Dennis Rodman, who refused to admit he had a problem till near the end of rehab.  It's easy to yell and scream at a weak and insecure woman like Amy Fisher.  It's unbecoming of Steven to do so.  Focus on yourself first.

Though I do agree with you about the concert analogy.  I went to see Def Leppard/Heart the other weekend and the section we were in SUCKED!  Everyone hated us because we were up throughout the whole show having the times of our lives.  You're at a rock show!  Get off your ass!

I guess with Rodman, he was on a show with some Grade A fuckups... and i guess alcohol compared to what those people were doing seemed very very mild..

Yeah, but I don't think Amy Fisher is any more of an addict than Rodman was/is.  She's basically an alcoholic with some pills mixed in.  I'm sure Dennis did more than JUST drink with all his partying.  Now don't get me wrong, Amy Fisher's problems go much deeper than her addiction, but I don't think it's right for Steven to get on her for failing to admit she's an addict.  Most addicts deny at first, and some take longer than others to come to grips with it.

And again, she actually did admit to being an addict once Steven made her cry and he left the room.  At this point, she just wants to piss him off.  And we know Steven can be very irritable.

I honestly think steven was hired and paid to come in as a mole just to stir up ratings.

That could go both ways.  Steven could've coaxed his way back onto the show to keep his Q rating high, and in turn the show could use him because he was such a memorable "star" the first time around on the show.  It doesn't seem like Steven is in very bad shape.  I was surprised when it was announced he'd be back on the show because I thought he was doing so well.  I'm not saying he didn't relapse with marijuana, and I know once an addict, always an addict.  No amount of rehab can be too much.  But "Celebrity" Rehab seems like a convenient excuse for many "celebrities" to "get help".  How many times has Seth "Shifty" Binzer been on the show?  Not really a show you WANT to have a recurring role in.  Yet some people do.

That guy is something else.  He LOVES the spotlight and he loves to defend his wife.  This appearance is a gold mine for him.  He soaked it all up on The Howard Stern Show a few years back.  Fans were calling in calling Amy every name in the book and he was challenging them all to fight him.  He seems like a pretty scary dude.  I wouldn't mess with him.

Lou Bellera did not disappoint.   I like when Joshua Jackson told him "I've found my peace, and I hope you find yours too..." and Lou just goes "I'll KILL ya'!...I'll kill ya' right where ya' stand!"   :rofl:

Yeah that was way over the line.  I HOPE that scene was taken out of context and we didn't see everything that led up to that because the way they showed it made Jeremy's sister look horrible.  I can't really blame Amy or Lou for reacting the way they did.

That was funny when Steven was telling Michael Lohan that "those women are gonna send you to prision"  Dr. Drew asks him how many times she has called the cops, and Michael says "twice".  Then you see Adler go  :peace:

I have to say, this season was pretty bad though.   I don't know if I'm gonna be able to make it through the "Sober House" part.   You can tell Amy is gonna milk the whole Buttofucco thing again.   It looks like they all relapse on pot too lol  Seems like it would make more sense to have Steven quit cigarettes instead of pot.   That was also funny when Dr. Drew says "I hate pot, because it takes my Steven away" wtf? lol

There is no "Sober House" anymore. Dr. Drew gave up on that after the shenanigans on the last one. They're just having a final episode to show how the patients are faring. And it appears they're not doing too great.

They are doing a two part follow-up.   The first part was played the other night and had some of the success stories.   Next week it looks like all the fuck-ups, and that is the one Adler is on lol

Bob Forrest had a funny line about Steven in the latest episode. When visiting with Jeremy Jackson and telling him how much better he looked compared to when he was in rehab. He said something to the effect of, "well let's face it. Anytime you're in rehab with Steven Adler you're gonna look good."

Man, that was crazy that Adler was smoking pot in the same room as Bob Forrest.   :o :rofl:  It was like when he was getting high in the sober house... Adler is just outrageous. Cool footage of Adler's Appetite.   That was hilarious with the people sneaking him alcohol, and there was footage of it. 


I agree.  I would rather have him smoke pot and drink a little bit, as opposed to doing more harmful drugs.   I still think it is amazing that he kicked heroin and crack.   I think they are just "all-or-nothing" where if you are still smoking pot they see it as bad, when really it is probably keeping him from going back to the harder stuff because he can still have a safe high.   I just wish he would quit cigarettes.

That's not just pot he's using.  Take a look at his eyes.  He'll be dead in 2yrs max if he keeps it up.

Bob Forrest is really cool. I like him a lot.  I thought it was funny when Bob told Steven about Jani's passing and Adler says all nonchalant, "yea, I saw it coming..." and Bob goes, "YOOOOOU?!?!?...saw it coming?" :rofl:

That one picture does look kind of bad.  I always thought that stuff made your pupils bigger, though (not smaller).  Maybe it is some kind of pills. Anyway, hope Steven can keep it together.  I can't say I really know what is going on with him.  He has seemed pretty together at times, but I did hear one report from a show awhile ago that said he was kind of out of it after a show.   I will have a bit less sympathy for him if he relapses on the hard stuff again though.
