Title: GNR mentioned in article on yahoo homepage Post by: inlikeflynn420 on March 04, 2011, 03:33:43 AM There's an article on Yahoo's homepage about how much some singers/bands make for private appearances (in light of the appearances paid for by Gadhafi). Guns N' Roses is mentioned for getting $1 million for the Russian private show they played last year. It's interesting to see how much some of the singers and bands have gotten paid to play even just one song for some of these rich people. But hell, if I won the Powerball, i'd hire GNR for the celebration if i could!
here's a link to the same article on hollywood reporter: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/shocking-amounts-money-a-singer-163861 (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/shocking-amounts-money-a-singer-163861) Title: Re: GNR mentioned in article on yahoo homepage Post by: ohmygod on March 10, 2011, 08:29:00 PM 6-7 mill for the Stones! Wowza! Still 1 mill for GNR is not bad at all.
PS. I dont see why many have a problem when bands do this sort of thing. It's ridiculous actually. I think anybody would take that opportunity if the situation presented itself, you'd be crazy not to. But I think the opposite; he is getting his band paid nicely which I think is pretty cool.
I know for a fact that during fashion week last year in NYC Patti Smith played a handful of private shows for fashion people only because of the great payday for her band. I wonder if the reaction would be the same for all bands/artists though. |
