Title: Bumblefoot's Message To Fans
Post by: FunkyMonkey on February 01, 2011, 04:58:55 PM
Ron responds to a "fan" that criticized the band in an online post.  It said they don't do enough interviews/media, no U.S. tour planned yet, albums don't come fast enough -- you get the idea.

Sooo, someone contacted me saying << Hey did you know that Feb 1 is the "official" stop treating your fans like manure day? >> At first I was gonna respond "Ohhh, I thought it was Delusional Nutjob Imagining He's Being Mistreated Day" but found this link. I get it - I see what you're saying. I do what I can, I make contests for you guys to win stuff and to hang out backstage, I've seen everyone in the band open their arms to the fans, it's not a *personal* mistreating you feel, it's that ya just want *more*. Just writing to say I'm listening, I'm not writin' off how ya feel and what ya want. But I wouldn't call you 'mistreated', you're more like 'GNR addicts in withdrawal'..........

Have a good one, and hang tight.

Ron

Love ya Ron. And I couldn't agree more about how great you guys treat us fans. Backstage in 2006 with you guys was amazing. Never met a better bunch of guys. You guys really made my freinds and I feel welcome.
peace out. amyl

Agree with Ron and the rest.

Aren't these the same people who said for years that all they wanted was an album, a tour, an album... And now it's a list of things.

You can't please everyone. It's been apparent for years now.

Ron (and all members of GnR) - Thanks for the message. you are 100% right. and please know that the large majority of die-hard fans do NOT feel like we are treated like shit. we are very appreciative of the album and all the shows.

Yes, I need my fix! Hope to see you soon.

Well I for one appreciate Ron for seeing the situation in a different way rather than just shrugging it off. Indeed it's delutional to want everything to happen like you want it to. But on the other hand we are all GN'R fans here, and is it so wrong to want your favourite band to do all of the aforementioned, isn't that being a fan?.

And I respect Ron for recognizing that, and seeing the "GN'R addicts" view at least. When you love a band so much, sometimes it's easy to get down about tours not happening or whatever.

That's what people got to remember, alot of this conflict of interest is down to the pure love we have for the band. I do however feel that alot of "fans" go about it the wrong way, and sometimes seem to just want to cause insult or offence to the band. However there are a fair few who just want Guns to get out there and start rocking the world in whatever way. Whether that means doing interviews, touring or releasing new music, there are alot of genuine fans who just want feel the GN'R vibe more, and more. Which is something to be celebrated and not degraded, so thanks to Ron for noticing that some fans are just addicts and get withdrawed alot.

I gotta say.

This band even in it's various forms have always gone out of their way to be nice to fans. Ron is of course the one you hear about the most but I've heard great stories about every member of the band being nice and taking time with fans. Or at the least, I've never ever heard so much as one BAD word from ANYONE about a member of this band being rude or mean to a fan. On the contrary, I have other bands I love a great deal that I've heard plenty of stories (and have some of my own) where this guy or that guy was just plain rude to a fan that loves and supports them.

Last year I planned to go see GNR twice in Canada and through my own fault was unable to make the trip. A mod at another forum told the guys what happened and they all made time to sign stuff for me and Ron made sure I got a couple of picks and so on. Who does that? Most bands would be like "Oh, sucks for him" if they even cared to comment at all. But not Guns N' Roses. They all made time to listen to the story of what happened to me and from what I understand were very sincere in feeling bad for my situation. Then on top of that to autograph stuff and write things like "Sorry we missed you!" etc on there? That's just classy.

Some people measure how much a band cares about their fans by looking at how often the band puts out products for the fans to buy, some measure it by the amount of times the band says "we love you" and some just know it.

Maybe some of these people who think they are being mistreated should look at themselves?

How do they treat the band they claim to love and support?

I know the band cares about their true fans. There's no doubt about that.

GN'R has always been a band that stands out. Quality over quantity.

I just know one thing: some years ago, if someone came to me saying ?Hey, in a few years Chinese Democracy will be in your hands, the band will be on tour, you?ll watch 4 gigs n? will meet Axl n? the whole gang again? I would say ?yep? next!?. But it happened.

Sometimes I wonder myself why some fans can?t notice how lucky n? fortunate we are for being fans of this incredible band.

We have in our hands something we waited for a LONG TIME (CD) n? already bitching about a new record? Of course I want new stuff as a fan. But why demand new stuff? Why bother to give attention to this guy that apparently is doing things to harm the band n?/or play with the minds n? hearts of the fans? Fuck him. If he ever delivers a leak, well, everyone will hear it. But that?s it.

We should be thankful that after such a long wait, we have a record, a tour, among many other things. And, most important: I have never seen in the past Axl smiling, laughing n? kidding around on stage like he?s doing nowadays. We may not know even 10% of all the shit he?s been through. But if Axl ever gave us any kind of happiness/inspiration/etc, we should feel SO HAPPY for him.

Guns N? Roses always had issues n? problems. Maybe because unlike almost all the others bands that are simple business, they?re for real as regards their music n? art. Of course everybody wants n? needs money but for all I?ve seen all those years, art always came first n? will always be like this. That only, for me, is the most beautiful n? respectful thing a band can offer to a fan. Sincerity, through lyrics n? music. And yes, sometimes I get tired of waiting for the band to get onstage ? so what? I know it?s like this. I choose, without a gun in my head, to pay, go n? wait. It?s like this. Sometimes probably shit happens. Some other times, maybe Axl isn?t ready or something. I don?t care. I care to watch this amazing band live. If you don?t like it, leave, it?s simple.

Thank you Axl n? Guns N? Roses for everything ? the CD is a dream that came true, the tour has been amazing n? as always I have the same feeling that?the best is always yet to come!

Fuck the haters! Fuck the gossips!!

I've been lucky enough to meet two members. Ron and Diz. Both were extremely nice, took pics, ect. I met Ron in Sturgis right after Gn'R's soundcheck and I mentioned I wanted to check out the Full Throttle Saloon that day before they went on. He said he had an interview to do over there, so lets go right now. Haha. My mom happened to call me as Ron and I were walking down the road. She goes, "Hey, how's it going?" I said, "Well, you aren't gonan beleive this one....." haha.

So yeah, I've never ever felt disrespected by this band one bit. Their music is what made me a fan in the first place, which I obviously love. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake. I've never felt I deserved or was owed anything.

I never ever gonna undestand why there are some people who just want to hurt the band no matter what.
Last year, they gave us everything. Everything from gigs to interviews, to meets n greets, music...
So.. why complain? Why all the hate???

Impatient rude people should start their own band. This band is giving all they have and hopefully they will give it again in 2011.
The year has just started and they even never promised to do it in 2011.

Maybe we will have to wait till 2012....the louzy fans might leave....the best fans just wait a bit longer....
