This isn't such a surprise given that it also happens to be the top-selling debut of all time in the United States. Appetite is just amazing from start to finish, and it captured a moment in time. Welcome To The Jungle is a fierce true look at Hollywood streets, and Rocket Queen finishes the album off perfectly by demonstrating Axl's lovely sensitive side. Not to mention Alanis had two prior albums out, called, Alanis and Now is the Time but they were Canadian releases only. Though Jagged Little Pill is the highest global debut, on her 3rd album.
