So I was right  ;D

Just got back from the gig and gotta be back up at 6am for work so will be quick.

Korn rocked, huge sound but songs a little samey.

GNR were awesome and much better than last time I saw them in 07. This is partly cos Axl's vocals were MUCH higher in the mix and partly cos Axl was screaming his arse off all night.

Took bits n pieces on my mobile and my mate filmed most of the show on his camera before his battery died. Allah willing I will attempt to post something tommorow after work. I am however seeing Gorillaz tommorow night so might not get the chance.

Axl's scream during LALD was mindblowing and he seemed in a great mood all night.1 or 2 dickheads in the crowd but that's Adelaide I guess. My cousin and I got in a mild confrontation with one arsehole who kept yelling shit all through the set ruining the gig for others so we fronted him and advised he shut the fuck up....smart lad did so :) Other than that a magical night and mightily impressed by Axl.

Thanks boys wonderful show. A privelidge and an honour to see.

Guns N' Roses hit the target - just

RENOWNED for his inability to own a watch, Axl Rose actually managed to take to the stage at a decent time for a mammoth rock show at The Entertainment Centre last night.
The show was big in every regard; Axl's voice sounded as good as it ever did, the stage production was exhilarating, the crowd was buzzing and the band's huge songs stole the show.

But after the sheen of the opening pyrotechnics wore off and the back to back hits of Welcome to the Jungle, It's So Easy and Mr Brownstone were welcomed, the gig seemed to plateau for the rest of the evening.

A more apt name for Guns N' Roses would be Rose and (hired) Guns.

Since the departure of his band the singer has surrounded himself with some of the best players in the business, and their performances were almost carbon copies of the original tracks. In essence they were faultless.

But among the blistering solos and flames bursting off the stage guitarist DJ Ashba (complete with hat, cigarette and classic Gibson guitar) gave an uncanny performance as Slash, which at times seemed uncomfortable for classic Gunners' fans.

The show was very similar to the performance GNR delivered almost three years ago at the same venue but having since released Chinese Democracy, fans could truly connect with the new material.

Songs such as Better and Street of Dreams were among the night's best in a set that was littered with hits from various albums.

Rocket Queen and the anthemic November Rain had the crowd in awe as did Knockin' on Heaven's Door. But where the night went wrong was the ridiculous amounts of outfit changes Axl Rose went through as he let members of his band exchange solos amongst themselves.

It was clear that it was not all about the outfits for Axl.

An educated guess was that the singer was using the time to grab a quick burst of oxygen backstage - as upon his return - his voice had improved 10 fold, belting out notes that would rival his studio performances.

The show was everything fans could have hoped for but the excitement factor that was present last time the band performed here was absent.

If they did away with the obligatory solos and irrelevant jam, Guns N' Roses' return to Adelaide would have been much tighter and ultimately triumphant.

Adelaide was a great show..Great setlist.. the crowd was into the whole show..Axl sang his heart out and i was verry impressed with Ron and DJ, shame the was a few idiots in the crowd during the last few songs but other than that..Great show..better than in 2007 :)

I dont think the reviewer above goes to many "rock" shows... solos and jams are a staple of rock shows throughout  history, they make it real and not paint-by-numbers-off-the-record gigs like other genres of music and give the audience a chance to enjoy what the guitarists and band can do also - which i always want to see/hear. Judging by the immense cheering for Dj, bumble and Richard at the gigs I've been to this year, I'd say I wasnt alone in that...  Nice to hear he singled out better and the blues as hits of the show though

Common, the man is not as slash or acting/copying or whatever "Top hat and all"... some peeps really need to take the time and checkout what he was doing before GN'R... hat, cigarette and Leas Pual was there already... the man is just being himself... inspired by... is another question maybe !


Outfit changes? I think that's pretty arguable...
Wearing the same pant's n' shoes all set... a change of sweaty shirt with jacket on top here and there and replacing a sweaty bandanna and or hat.
That's about it ! I don't see the issue btw as really look awesome as well.

These people really need to go to a show of Cher or Grace Jones and start complaining there IMHO ! That are outfit changes on top of great shows...

I got straight at the front of the stage we went there at 1:30pm and got pulled over because of Korn fans and lost my spot because they were pushing me into the rail and I could not breath. I was in tears. That was out Townsville. So I feel the same way  :rant:.

Funny! Korn was my favorite band before, back in 2000 and i had the chance to go see them live, and deja vu... same thing happened. I couldnt breathe and had to lose my spot, otherwise i would just die right there, also to help even more there were two drunk Ukranian guys right in front of me, who were like balancing cause they couldn't stay on their feet for too long, and each of them were like 6'5... so i was being pushed by the guys that were behind me and basically everyone behind me, and crushed by this stupid assholes in front of me. Im 5'6... so u can imagine...
