I was looking for the game on TV and didn't find it.  So I put on the game of the CFL here in Montreal, eastern finals.  And guess what song they put on when the players arrived on the field?  Chinese Democracy!  Nice to hear it on a sporting event like this!!!  :):)  Not to mention it is taking place at the infamous Olympic Stadium, haha!  :)   ;D

Pretty cool indeed.  I hope they put it on the news....

IMHO, one of the best things I've ever see him playing. Really good stuff! ;D

This is awesome, from the soundcheck video it looks like Chris Whitemyer is DJ's guitar tech for this. I could be wrong, but it sure looks like him. If it is, DJ's in good hands, Chris knows what he's doing. Chris was also Robins' guitar tech as well whilst in GN'R.

I can't wait to see DJ do this, I wonder how he'll play it. I bet DJ changes it up abit, and might even solo abit, we'll soon see.  ;D

The game started off by one of the best national anthems I have seen it was done by electric guitar by guitarist D.J. Ashba from Guns N? Roses and it really set the temo for the game in which the temperature at game time was 73 degrees something I?m sure the Cards appreciated.

Well said -- it's the first video I've seen, hopefully we get one down on the field where we can see Dj.  It does sound good and he did win everyone over.

Considering it was taken from a cell phone, by a football fan, who had no care if it came out like an A+ live recording... it was an average recording. Guy was excited for the game, can't blame him for screaming.

Pretty funny about the Slash comment, still shows that - as I've said before - people associate GNR guitar work with Slash, almost immediately!

But still, it was cool to see this - some nice recognition for GNR in the USA.  ...now all we need is a tour!

Whatever cotis. Its video, not taking pictures. Anything other than landscape mode - specially if you intent to post on YouTube - will be distorted. Im not talking about pro-recording.

Also, the Slash comment wasnt the problem. The thing is the guy expected to be a disaster. Im glad DJ and the whole crowd there just shut him up.

Had to love his comment a few seconds in. "Actually this is pretty cool".  And by the end of it you hear "KEEP PLAYING!!"

DJ played it brilliantly from the sounds of it.

I have no comments about the video source, it's obviously from someone who don't care about the content of the video as much as us. Their comments towards the start back this up, they are just there for the match.

That's why I hope a better video source comes through soon. I want to at least see DJ, and not have some casuals speaking all over of it.

But well done to DJ, from all of the reports so far, it sounds like he did an amazing job.  : ok:

The crowd was with him all the way, and the fireworks at the end was a nice touch. I like how the word 'Democracy' appears on the flash screen halfway up the stadium along with 'Freedom', nice little touch.  :hihi:

Ya know, this was quite an epic event for GNR, and I'm not sure if DJ even realized it...

This is the first time a GNR Guitarist has done a public performance, billed as GNR's guitarist, @ a total Non-GNR event (Since the 90's anyway), and he totally killed it!

Cool, good job by DJ, I even forgive him for playing at a Kansas City Chiefs game, :hihi:   Go Raiders!

After that first youtube video, with the casual idiots talking all over it, this video is like heaven. I knew DJ would add his little fills into the solo, which he did with great success.

I also liked the reaction from the crowd when the announcer mentioned Guns N' Roses. What an amazing reception for DJ.  ;D

Well, before the National Anthem is performed at ALL sporting events in the US, the announcement that is given is "everyone please rise and remove your hats for the National Anthem".  It's a sign of respect, tradition.  I do it, most people do, not all.  I don't get upset when people don't do it, or forget.  But in my mind, they should.

Regardless, great to see DJ out there doing his thing and getting some recognition.
