Was at Birmingham yesterday, he acknowledged his sore throat at the end.

But you couldnt tell, trust me.

I've seen them at Leeds a few months ago and his voice was easily as good as then (probably better due to sound mix)

Only impact it had was a shorter setlist (no IRS, Better, Dont Cry or Patience), but that didnt matter. Was probably only 3 songs sort.

Awesome gig. My hometown gig today, can't wait, getting there about 7 though i think.

Had a great time last night in Brum, didn't notice Axl had sore throat until he said. But I did notice the shortened set last.

whistles are ok...just a sign of people being nervous and excited......doesn't have to be agressive at all...In Arnhem NL it was cool to hear the audience whistle to call GNR onstage.... fans are hungry....good sign  :peace:

Yeah, the same happened at the Zagreb gig but as soon as the intro sound went on the crowd went crazy. 

It's all part of the whole spectacle and people just have to deal with it I guess.

Seriously... I always expect a late start/finish from GnR... I think it had even gone past 1.00am in 2006 when Wembley Arena turned on the lights mid-way through the Paradise City encore in a not so subtle hint to finish......

Just got back from manchester, great gig and great to see Axl singing dont cry. I could tell his voice was suffering slightly but he held out well. The acoustics in the M.E.N are a bit pants and the sound echo's around the arena

I just got home after been thrown out of the gig twice!!!!

Seems like a case of mistaken identity.  

The first time (just as seb was finishing), security came over to me and asked me to come to the back to talk to them, when we got there they said they had already thrown me out once and I should not be back in, I said no, not me, they said just come with us, I kept pleading my case, but walking with them and talking, didnt feel like a big deal but then they shut some doors and I realise, I'm on the outside.

Buy another ticket (seating) still have my standing wrsitband on, get back in, find a friend, while he goes to the bar, I'm stood against the wall texting, get grabbed "didn't I just see you get thrown out?" me, "no", guy shouts someone over, "yeah we just took him out, how the hell are you back in so quick?"  I'm out again.

Just got home, fucking brilliant show. That was the 5th time I'd seen Axl and probably the joint best show I've seen, along with London Hammersmith 2006.  : ok:

Baz looked in good shape, sounded great too. Not sure if he had a sore throat because he kept gargling water and rubbing his throat. I made eye contact and got a smile off him at one point when I was going note for note with him and rocking my head off. He held out his note for ages, staring at me! :D

The wait sucked, but I'm used to it now. Baz was done by half 8, Guns didn't come on until just after 10.30pm. 2 hours of boredom. Good job I had my phone (and a hot chick with a nice rack stood next to me  :hihi: ) to keep me entertained. People booed, but what else do you expect? Not everyone has been to a GN'R show before. Not everyone knows Axl is notorious for coming on late. Hell, even I was getting pissed off with the wait, and I'm a hardcore fan. I was just fortunate in that I'd driven (I normally get the train) and that I'm off work tomorrow. So I had no curfew, it made no difference to me if they started at 9.30 or midnight. Had I not driven, I'd be sleeping rough in Manchester right about now....

Anyway, Axl and the lads were on top form. They were all very smiley, Axl especially. I couldn't tell that he had a sore throat, in fact he fucking nailed every note.

I was at the front barrier, centre stage all show. I managed to make eye contact with Axl at one point, and even got a smile from him! It was during November Rain, I had both hands aloft displaying the peace sign and I was rocking my head off to Bumble's solo. This was a great point. :)

At one point, I forget which, Bumble was centre stage and looked down at where I was. I began rubbing my hands around my mouth, as if I was scratching a beard. He laughed and started to tug at his back to me. :D

Great set list. I was a little disappointed they didn't do Nice Boys, but they did Don't Cry, and that meant a hell of a lot more to me. :)

They finished by my watch at 1:07am. 2 and a half hour show, thank you very much!

Those pics look great, I'll check em properly tomorrow and see if I can spot myself. I do have pics but I'll post them tomorrow, I need sleep right now. ;D

what a great night just had a look at what people are saying i have to say the wait didn`t bother me i was txting and chatting i think most of the booing is quite good natured, it`s so different being there to looking at updates on the computer, we had a fat streaker! hats off to the person who txted the screen to cheer if they wanted him back in(he was let in) also we had some guy come past us with 4 pints spilling them all down the aisle and when he got to his seat he dropped them :hihi: all keeps you occupied
so to the show it couldn`t have started better than with blue moon(thanks Axl) he was in such a great mood there obviously getting  the end of the road feeling! new we were in for a good time when we got shacklers and better his voice was just incredible he did get quite chatty couldn`t alway catch what he said he had a laugh about some huge pants that were thrown on stage("granny panties/his lucky granny panties")dj had them on his head near the end!
the people i took with me 2 of them had never been to a show ever! they loved it loved Axl and they loved Richard DJ and Bumbles solo stuff my highlight was hearing Better shacklers and irs  : ok: so my voice has gone a bit my legs are aching my god it gets hot with the pyro got in at 2.45 LOVED IT thanks guns n roses for a great night please don`t wait 4 years to come back and Axl get this band in the studio.p.s thought Dj would be good and he is but Axl`s is king saw jarmo but was to busy buying t shirts(bought 3 and a bandana got to help Axl with his curfew bill somehow :hihi:) :beer:

Just got back into Birmingham, and what a show.  :)

First of all, what the hell was that intro music, can someone link me or tell me, loved it.  ;D

jarmo, I saw you taking pics, and I was right to the left of you in the standing area, when you was on the right. You seem to laugh like myself at them two drunken guys with their shirts off, rocking out, good on em.  ;)

The show was really top notch, I enjoyed the build up and the first 4 songs like always, what a combination. Then everything seemed to get better, and better and better. I really love how the band do a short improvisation before some songs, that gives you a clue as to what's next, love that.

I saw Christos too, and he touched Ashba, and seemed like he was enjoying the show too.

All the little speeches and amazing performances made this show really off the mark. Also the atmosphere was probably the best of the UK tour in my view. I got chatting to loads of hardcore fans, with tattoos, and stories to tell. It's really special being in the same place as your idols, while chatting to like minded people, who have lived through it like yourself.

Thanks GN'R for a kickass UK tour, now if everything goes to plan, see you in Barcelona.  ;D

You must have been about 2 or 3 people in front of me, as that was the view I had too. It's a small world isn't it, do you remember a guy with long black hair in a pony tail, and he was out of it. Kept on bothering the female security guard, by sitting on the railings and jumping back onto her.

Wow! Did Leeds, London o2 (The Duff show 14th) and Manchester! Amazing show last night, the guys are on fire and should be given amazing credit by the press for this Uk tour. Axl sounds incredible and moves like a 20 year old:)my favourite of the night was 'whole lotta rosie', axl and the band just make this track their own. I was stood right down at the front and I think I was the only person wearing the old LA Lakers gnr vest with 'Rose 8' on the back. The crowd was the most animated of the shows I have been to, rocking out till the end! Makes me proud to be from Manchester (apart from the blue moon theme at the start, MANCHESTER UNITED!)

Just sat down after last nights awesome gig. got home at 3am, up for work at 7am for a 12 hour day. Feel shit lol but well worth it for the best fuckin concert experience on earth at the moment.

The best GNR gig i've been to. (started my last review of Helsinki like that earlier this year!)

My 6th concert since 06 and the first time ive sat down in the stands... we had seats right at the back of the arena low down, a really good view actually of the whole production. Anyone that hasn't done it i'd recommend this for a change rather than fighting it out at the front.

Axls voice was spot on and got even better as the night progressed. the best version of paradise city i've heard by far. And i'd go as far as to say the best i've ever heard him. 2 hour 35 mins of pure pleasure to the ears.

Highlights - Don't Cry, wonderful experience to hear this live for the first time, axls vocal was amazing, such a passionate song, blew this i love out of the water for me and i love that tune.

YCBM was mental!

shacklers went down well and comes across well live for me!

KOHD axl was in a top mood, i thought he would never end that song!

Loads of CD tunes most received well, IRS didn't go smoothly, sounded like they fucked it up in the middle, well rescued though.

Amazin set list, awesome performance, good axl banter etc... dont fuckin cry, rosie, what more can a man want from a gig! I've seen metallica and rammstein in the past 18 months and all 3 GNR performances this summer were far superior.

The arena was 90% full that's a good effort for MEN arena given it holds well over 20,000, i'd say it was 75% full by the end of the gig, clearly the show ended very late and it is understandable that people leave. The crowd were very patient and there was only one round of booing before the start the show. Most just had another drink and relaxed. When it hit 10:30 i was getting nervous though lol

The general feel in the arena after the show was one of ecstasy, it went down a storm, the crowd loved it, can't fault it in any way. Never seen so many happy people at 1:30 on a tuesday morning!

Will never forget how good last night was, truly special show.

Also, randomly came across celebrity chef Marco Pierre White in whetherspoons on deansgate before the gig, lol, wonder if he was there to see axl.....

I want to say to Tommy that he rocked Manchester, he blew me away.

Tommy was coming out onto the centre stage more, and I loved it. Tommy if you read this, we love it when you do this. That's where you belong front stage centre with Axl, you look so badass when you are rocking.

More and more Tommy you seem to be coming out to the front much more, and I hope you continue to do this. All of my pics and videos from this show was mostly of Tommy, because I couldn't believe how often he was coming to the front.

What a fucking awesome show!!! First time I've seen them since Manchester 2006, can't describe how much I was looking forward to it.

Highlights for me - sooo many it's ridiculous. This I Love (absolutely incredible, can die happy now I've heard that live  ;D). Street Of dreams was amazing, vocal perfection. KOHD. Better, Nov Rain, PC, Nightrain, and obviously Don't Cry. Loads of Chi dem songs, love it. Had forgotten how good LALD is too, that blew me away  :hihi:  ;D

Well this show might indeed be my last time seeing GN'R this year. If it is I want to say a big thank you to the crowd, they were amazing. And I agree with what someone said earlier which was this crowd seemed to have alot more hardcore gunners than the average UK crowd.

Amazing performance!

my 8th Gn'R gig since 1992 and really was a class performance.
weird being in seats for the first time at a gnr gig but it was quite a nice change watching them from a different perspective and not having to cope with being in the standing mayhem. also, looking at the crowd was great, they were properly into it, the whole gig really.
i wasnt arsed about the 10.30 start, i quite liked the excitement of waiting. one guy fell asleep on his wife's shoulder and then as soon as they came on he got up and walked out! crazy!
they played a great set and axl sounded amazing, think coz not in the standing crowd you could really hear the sound properly and he really did sound phenomenal. think they played so late coz crowd was still into it, i remember him commenting on how awesome the crowd was at the end. so yeah, didnt finish till 1.15am, i could have watched more.

i've posted a youtube clip of jungle but to be honest it's not very good (coz of seats and camera not being great), particularly considering some of the great clips on there from other people (thanks for them) but i thought i'd link it here anyway. and to be honest, you guys that were in the crowd look brilliant on it!

Hey ckgent!- I was baldy right next to you trying to help u out- U kept screaming "I sing one ,you sing one! "I sing one you sing one!!"" over & over while I pointed at U to keep the attention on you-AXL just starred for what seem like a minute at U trying to figure out what U wanted-  i wish u could see us in this video but at least we can clearly hear what Axl said right after & it was awesome having Axl's full attention on us for that time!- u just needed a little more luck & would have traded verses like last time at Hammersmith UK! : ok:


Incredible night tho! We had our own little area in the corner at the front of the stage- patted DJ a couple times on his trips to the audience- also saw him come out during Baz's set few feet in front of us- only a few people noticed  but he said hello to me & maybe 1 or 2 other fans then. AXL sounded insane! terrific set also- nice & long like all but Birm. when he was sick but even that show was incredible - What a nite!! def. worth the trip from the states- Londond x2, Birm. Manchester- wow!! :beer:

Got back to our Hotel in Manchester at 4:30 am!- damn not so easy driving on the other side of the road esp. with  no help on directions from my drunk wife & passed out Buddy in the back, although they insisted we stop at Mcdonalds on the way home which luckily was close to the MEN.- thank god a cop finally pulled us over about half mile from our Hotel- he said "sir are you aware you just ran over a curve, almost side swiped a car & nearly hit a pedestrian?:- "Well, yeah- we're American!" Not only that but our Tom Tom Sucks & will not direct us to the Hotel- I was stone cold sober so he said" follow me" & brought us to our Hotel Finally- thank god- I'm sure he wanted us off the street before we killed someone! good thing i got the car rental insurance! :hihi:

The funniest intro I have ever seen, lets just say the Man United fans weren't happy at the Man City anthem being played as the intro. (cool little song too, check it out guys, Blue Moon by the Marcels) ;D

I check in over at www.vhlinks.com from time to time.  Here's a "review" from a member over there.

Saw the band in Manchester,England last Monday and I have to say it was one of the best shows I've been to in the last 20 years. 4th time of seeing them - twice with the "old" band & again in 2006 and they beat Slash & co hands down honestly. Axl has surrounded himself with some seriously good musicians who not only gel with each other but also with the man himself who I believe is singing better than ever!

Sebastian Bach finished his set at 8.45pm and they took to the stage about 10.40pm - crowd were getting a little restless but that soon disappeared when they opened with Chinese Democracy.

The CD songs were very well received & they played a 2hr 35 set so if you were prepared to wait you got great value.

MEN Arena holds 18,000 & I'd say there was prob 16,000 there on the night.

Love him or hate him you have to give Axl credit for being one of THE frontmen of the last 30 years - can really struggle to think of many other singers who can command a stage like him.

His put on some pounds though - makes Sammy look trim haha!!!

I'm a mega man utd fan, season-ticket holder in fact.

And whilst I did raise an eyebrow when the song played, it was more comical than anything and I think most fans took it in good spirit.

My hometown gig this one, and I must say I was surprised at how good the crowd were.

Normally Birmingham is a better crowd (home of RN'R after all), but not this time around.

The atmosphere was euphoric as the crowd left the arena, all chatting about how great GN'R were.

Seen GNR a good few times now this was one of ,if not the best ive ever seen them play -I was at  the 06 Manchester gig which was awesome too....maybe its something about Manchester?! Crowd was awesome tho!

London 02 nite 2 was the best , nite 2 2nd, but, Manchester a close 3rd & Birmin, 4th best- Manchester was incredible- I could just hear tho that AxL's voice was still not quite 100% from being sick & blowing it out some in London.

 London 02 nite 2 was just in the stratosphere! one of those ver very special nites that only comes along once in a while- trust me front row 4 all & seen the new band 8 times since 06'- AxL was possessed that nite at the O2- you had to be there- but Manchester was indeed fantastic & one of the best ever!  :beer:

Finally!  an accurate review of A GnR Show- R U paying attantion Journalists???   Stop being so fucking lazy & review the show for what it really was- a blazing 2.5 performance from the best rock band band out there right now with a frontman that will rip your your head off & shit down your neck when he sings!!! :smoking:
