To be honest, I'd really rather Dizzy do those songs as his solo. There's just something I find so beautiful in Dizzy's playing. It really does touch my gypsy soul. :) No offense to that other piano guy in the band. He plays nice too. :P Title: Re: October 9th, 2010 Madrid, Spain (Discussion) Post by: John on October 09, 2010, 02:56:12 PM I doubt you'll get any of that. Title: Re: October 9th, 2010 Madrid, Spain (Discussion) Post by: Ignatius on October 10, 2010, 04:42:51 AM I don't have too much time to post, so I'll make it quick. What an amazing night. Off all shows I've ever seen, this one was the best by a mile. Band sounded incredible well. Axl was in a great mood. He was smiling, talking to the crowd, getting people to clap...he really made sure the whole crowd got involved. And the crowd reacted- A packed house. 2 hours and 40 mins later, no one had left the building. This, compared with the last time they'd played in Madrid, is/was quite an achievement- Off all the shows I'eve ever been from any band, I've never seen a crowd as loud as the one I witnessed last night. "Jungle" was insane. Highlights for me were Sorry, Shacklers, Better, Rocket Queen and The Blues. The crowd loved AFD songs obviously, but responded well to the CD ones. YCBM was also pretty insane. After the show, I got to meet a few members of the band (took some pics - will post them soon). They were all extremely happy to chat/take pictures with all of us. Bumblefoot hugged my girlfriend, squeezed her to death, and kissed her at least a dozen times, before I gave him that look...(J/k). Ashba was cool to take a few pics, Frank is awesome... Axl was not there- And last but not least, thank you Jarmo for making it happen- We finally got to meet. You rock!! PS.Oh, and thank you for the cervezas!! Very humble and very grateful to have fans and all, thats the image i got from them. To be honest i dunno how anybody in this world could not like this new band... not to get into some old band vs new band discussion, but the new band guys are more fan friendly, much more relaxed on stage, they also play the songs faster and with more edge than the old band. The old band had that special charisma because they were the originals and because they lived through all that shit that was written in the songs before Chinese Democracy. But i think that in general this new band is great breathe of fresh air! So who the fuck needs Slash anyways... Cool. Looking forward to the UK dates even more now I've read that :) You will enjoy the show for sure,Axl's has his voice at 200% and seems to be happier than ever,I have to say that before the show i was thinking that Ashba is the best guitar of GNR but after the show, and watching what i saw i have to say that Ron Thal is the man.Better than 2006 maybe it was one of the first shows but last time in madrid he sounded like a God.Veeery, very, good.Ashba was good to but Ron thal was something "out of this world". Slash was a huge part of the guns N roses history-i don't see the point of soiling that any more than it already has been. I guess though for younger fans- & not an oldie like myself-this new band IS their GnR memory. I personally don't feel the need to compare the 2-thats impossible if you've grown up with GnR-old & new. They're both different & play their important part.you can't deny the power of Slash back in the day. Everyone has the right to belive in anything that seems right. But...in my opnion..and it is just my opnion..we will not evolute if we keep saying bad things about everything..say no to negativism. Better just not read it. It's not just opinion, that's very much trolling.
