Here Today... Gone To Hell!

It's almost been two years, and CD hasn't left slot #1 in my car's CD player (no pun intended).  If I have a quick ride (10 - 15 minutes) & only have time for two songs, my choice is to play TWAT & CITR back to back.  What do you think is the best natural doubleshot on Chinese Democracy?

I rarely cue up CD to a certain song.  I usually listen to it until my ride ends, then resume where I left off later.  BUT, I'd probably go "If The World" and "There Was A Time" just to go along with the concept.

I really love Catcher, the 99 version of twat and Prostitute

For sure Scraped and Riad. If I need more time tha those two quickies, Shacklers and Better. :)

I have to go with Better followed by Street Of Dreams.

It just seems like a nice progression, Better being the heavy rocker, and Street Of Dreams being a piano driven ballad. I feel they adapt well to each other when being played in the albums order.  :drool:

Hard to choose. TIL into Prostitute is great. As is Scraped into Rihad. Chinese into Shacklers is awesome too.

Just shows you how good this album really is.  So far, everyone has picked two awesome back to back songs, and none of them are the same.

You know, sometimes I could go with "This I Love" and "Prostitute" because my alarm goes off each day with CD and it cuts off at the beginning of TIL, at the 1 hour mark.  Yes, I lay in bed going in and out of sleep for an hour basically every day.  I don't have to be at work at a specific time, so I allow myself that luxury.  Anyway, since those 2 songs get cut off, I sometimes feel bad, like they're left out.

This is a difficult one,  I'd say IRS and Madagascar, but that said This I love and Prostitute is another and If the World and TWAT are great also and deserve a mention. Ultimately its really a case of tracks 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 2 & 3, 4 & 5, 6 & 7, 8 & 9 10 & 11, 12 & 13, and god damn it even 14&1 are epic....  :drool:

Not since AFD has that been achieved on the whole album in my view :beer:

Ther have been many variations..Lately Sorry/TWAT..or CD/TIL...or ITW/Better......OYVAY I need a longer commute..

i think it`s been talked about before but i`d love to see a one off performance of the whole album with an orchestra and singers , i think Axl put such an amount of work into it,it would make a good way to end the tour and maybe close a chapter of the whole history of this album and get ready for something new i think we have alot to look forward to  : ok: my doubleshot is prostitute/twat or catcher/scraped  ;)

CD and Shackler's are just a great one two punch for me-since they have been opening concerts with CD, the song has really "moved up" for me since the cd came out-it's a great opener for the concerts, I think.

For me it would definitely be If the World and Sorry

But seriously, if I can add a third song, I would put Scraped, Riad and Sorry because I just discovered a tie-in between those 3 songs meaning. :)

I thought the original post was looking for the best back-to-back (in tracklist order).  For me right now I'd pull for Madagascar and TIL.

If it's just two from anywhere on the album, damn that's a tough question!  Am I in a rockin' mood? Better-IRS  Contemplative? Madagascar-Prostitute  Pissed-off? TWAT-Sorry 
...and yeah, that changes too. :)

quick addition:  for inspiration I want Better and Scraped...great workout songs for me.

 

If I were telling someone unfamiliar with CD, I'd tell them to listen to Better and SOD.  Currently though, my personal picks presently would be Madagascar and This I Love.

That was the original intention (best back-to-back)  ;)
