BA. Bergen newspaper have done an interview with DJ Ashba and Dizzy! Dj reveals that GNR are working with a new album, and there MAY BE a new album in 2011. =) I guess thats good news! But lets not take this as fact! the good news there is that new songs are in the works! =)

Dj Also says it will be a fantastic record!

The shows in Europe is also going to be great! A new scene rig, witch is different from the South America shows..

well, at least we have band members finally talkin' 'bout a NEW album!! :beer: :beer:

I was thinking there is a large gap in the European tour schedule, how about the south of France?  Worked for the Stones.

So does this mean there is now a lost GNR album out there?  CDII is never going to see the light of day, sorry, the shelves?  That would be a shame.  The music industry sucks.  You know if the band ends up playing in some farmer's field just to get the music out they want to play, I'm there.  When have we not had a good time doing that?

maybe this means just some "final touches", just like Bumble and Frank did at ChiDem. but, I don't think we should hold our breath now... this means nothing.

The translation I have read from others is that this new album is already in the can. Is that what our northern friends are translating as well?

They say: Dizzy and DJ Achba confirms that they are writing new songs for a new CD. Maybe it will be released in 2011, but we have been busy on the road for the last years, but we wright new songs, and  its gonna be awesome!

What do you mean in the can? Like in the garbage can and not to be released? But if all this is true, it was expected was it not? CD was supposed to be two pieces, we heard song titles of songs that were not put on CD and are meant for future releases (when does that ever happen?), and so many songs I guess were recorded or at least written and ready for production.

With that said, there is a future for Guns N Roses! And I am saying that due to the success and reception of the concerts in Asia, SA, and onto Europe.

The positive thing we should focus on is that they are touring, writing songs.. and are stronger, and better then ever "which also Dizzy says in the article". =)
The keyword along with maybe, is that the future for GNR looks bright and are filled with hope and positivity =)

I wouldn't mind if they released the best of the rest of the material that was already written and possibly recorded, maybe make a deluxe CD with a second disk of all the new tracks.  Release this by next year, then, a year later I want all new material written and recorded by the current line-up.  That would be a dream scenario for me.

The article says that they are writing new songs for a new album. So that means CD 2 wont be released or what? We don't know, but I'd love more than anything to hear songs written by Axl and Ron - an album with the new lineup would kick major asses, lol.

At some point I have no doubt we'll hear a lot of the songs talked about in the chats last year, but I love the idea of new material as well. Really, the band could go in many different directions. Pull a Radiohead/NIN and do something online (maybe an EP), do a bonus disc of material from the CD sessions before a disc of new songs, who knows. I love how Ashba fills out the band and it seems like a rock powerhouse so I'm definitely interested - but for now, they need to tour the fuck outta Europe ;)

Not sure if we'll get a new album this year, next year, or years after.  That's anybody's guess.  But I am glad to hear that they're actively writing while touring.  That's certainly a good sign.  I do hope we get to hear whatever is left in the CD vault, but I'm also psyched to see what these new guys can do together in a writing sense.

I think in GN'Rs case this might be unwise. It might reek of GN'R appearing desperate even if that isn't the case. Axl has got to handle these things very delicately.

Axl, Ron, Dizzy,Chris,Tom,Frank,Ashba,Fortus
is going to be very melodic, very powerfull.  perhaps you can hear richard break a few guitars in just putting tracks up! who knows.
but that line-up on an album(out of scratch) is going to be strong and powerfull!

This is pretty exciting!

I'm not gonna pin all my hopes on it though... I'm happy to wait and see where this takes the band. I'm extremely keen to hear what these guys can write together!

I would personally love a new album in 2011

As much as I'd love to hear an album recorded by the current line-up, I really hope they release the second Chinese Democracy record first. I mean, for ten years we'd be hearing about the 100+ songs they were working on. Axl has been bigging up unreleased songs as recently as last year. It'd be a shame to only ever get to hear 15 tracks from all of those sessions. Even if it's a record quietly released with a minimum of fuss, it would be great to hear those songs.

All that aside, the band is on fire at the moment, so I'd definitely want to hear what they can come up with together at some point, too. Especially if it turns out anything like Bumblefoot said he hoped it would sound like in an interview a while ago.

Baz told us there are 3 albums worth... remember when Axl said that there isn't as many as he indicated...

He also said that he always thought of Chinese Democracy as a double album. And I'm sure there are plenty of songs that were dropped, because I'm sure various band members in the early late 90's-early 2000's said that they had 100 songs that they'd been working on. I don't expect to hear all of them, but it would be nice to hear the ones that were intended for release. I'm just hoping that they do still intend to release them.

So now people will demand new songs to the set list from a new album which may or may not get released in 2011 :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

No disrespect to any member of GNR, but I am excited with DJ Ashba in the band. His songwriting abilities are amazing and i am confident he will bring GNR back to the top of the charts. That man knows how to write awesome riffs and hit songs.

The work he did with Sixx AM and Motley was awesome. Can't imagine he working with a talent like Axl. I think they can outdo UYI.

Yes, yes, I'm sure Dj is a great songwriter. And the combination of him, Axl, Tommy, Richard and Ron (who are all accomplished songwriters) on record is definitely an incredibly exciting prospect that I'm sure everyone would like to hear sooner rather than later. But surely everyone would want to hear the songs they already have first. Right? Just me? :-\

I already have said what i would love to see. Take 6 or 7 of the best left over CD session songs and add 7 from this lineup and make one killer CD.

or do a double album. CD 1  CD II   CD 2 disc from this lineup.

I actually in that thread said something bout a box set with the remaining CD sessions and release a single disc of the "Best of" CD sessions.

that clears the CD sessions and possible fulfills the recording contract, and then maybe Axl can be free to do what he wants.

A band as big as GNR could do way better with their own label and negotiating their own exclusive deals.

bands like GNR no longer need that label imo.

They already did do that in 2008.    :D

There is stuff I really like on UYI, but I think some of my least favorite GNR songs are also there.

And what about Bumblefoot? He's not what I would consider "traditional", and since he hasn't still composed for GN'R... :)

What do you mean more traditional? Axl already said the songs for the next are pretty much done, and that it would be more like but heavier then CD. Which is exactly what I want hear. DJ will add something I think a song like Life is Beautiful would be a great addition to the band.

hmmm Ron said that he bring to GNR traditional rock, and before he came ChD was more industrial. so now with Ron & DJ I'm afraid that new album will be such a classic rock.

Yeah, because GnR's an industrial band. Screw the classic rock n' roll sound, killswitchs n' tapping licks w/ heavy distortions are the way to go.
Ron's a genius songwritter and guitarist. Don't worry, he won't be playing only basic rock n' roll w/ Guns. He'll play everything, from classic rock to metal and whatever styles he feels like playing at the moment - jazz, country, fusion, funk, flamenco, well, anything.
