But I thought doubts were being cast on the reliability of that poster in another topic?

I've checked several news sites now. Most of these sources say 'Graspop confirms Guns as third headliner', but all of them reported this on or around April 20th. In my opinion that should hold back our enthusiasm, since later news by Dutch concert organizer Mojo and the reliability of that poster tell a different story.

I've considered buying tickets, but lets be honest: Few would want to be stuck with a handful of tickets without the prospect of a Guns N' Roses show.

Until it's on www.graspop.be (http://www.graspop.be), don't buy any tickets.

Was indeed just about to add that: In all other cases we at least had one party claiming Guns would come. Now we have none.

The poster may be an early revision that the Russian promoter jumped the gun on - likely they needed to print something out as their shows were official. That doesn't mean the dates are wrong, some may be, some may be correct - just wait and see.

That tour poster is fucking sick though!

I have already emailed Graspop several days ago if there is any new on Guns being the possible third headliner, but of course no response.

It's a rumor...but a big possibility that it will be confirmed.

Is it also forbidden to go to the festival to check out the other bands?  ;)

If u want to see Guns N Roses on the festival.. i guess u knew it was only a good advise for not getting fooled.!

I will never ever see GNR in Belgium again. Worst crowd ever ! ! They ruined the experience of what otherwise was an amazing performance by the band with finck. :rant:

G N' R didn't get booed during their 1993 show at Werchter.

I was there and didn't hear 'booing'... maybe some people ruined it for you the place where you were standing
Anyhow, the show back in 2006 was certainly not bad, but also not spectacular... the one thing that bothered me during that gig were the booring pauses during the concert and the uninteresting solo's which didn't fit  (in my opinion). Also in the papers, the show didn't get very good reviews (mostly because of this reason I believe, it didn't kick ass enough according to them)

The voice however was great! (as always I assume)

I agree to that. Their show at Graspop wasn't bad, but it was the least of those I saw during that tour. They had the solos at all the shows though, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but it is when it takes all the pace out of something that should be a steaming rock 'n' roll train.

I was at Pukkelpop 2002 (also in Belgium) and they did not get booed at all. I don't  know about Graspop 2006 cuz I didn't make it to that festival (one of my best friends decided to get married on that day  >:( )

At Pukkelpop Suede was playing just before Gunners and their concert was ruined by GnR fans chanting 'GUNS N' ROSES' the whole time.  :hihi:
I don't think Belgian crowds are bad, maybe a bit quit sometimes but at least they listen to what the band is playing instaed of throwing bottles of piss  :P

The thing with Graspop is that it is a metal festival and it attracs a lot of meatheads and we know how they feel about Gunners in general.

A lot of metalheads - like myself -  enjoy GN'R, even much more than the so called 'alternative' assholes you find on festivals like Pukkelpop..

Guess Gnr is always and everywhere a bit controversial. That's whe I prefer to see them on concerts and not festivals.

I was talking about Graspop when I said they got booed. And yes a lot of people were booing, not just near me... (IM not dumb, I would've moved !)
I dont know about pukkelpop, I couldnt make it to that one.

The band kicked ass in Graspop. Axl's voice was flawless and Finck was a GOD, he came out with great guitar work ! but yeah many people were already giving the band the finger, and they werent' even on stage  :confused:
IM going to see them in either Holand or Paris. No Belgium. FuCK IT !  :rant:

New rumor (on the Graspop forums) say that it will not happen. It seems there were negotiations, but Guns would have cancelled the deal...

anyway: these are also unconfirmed comments from users on the festival forum. My fingers are still crossed!

That's really sad news. I hope we will hear the final word on it soon.
Anyway, if Guns are not coming to Graspop I will just buy a ticket for Friday to see Aerosmith.  :yes:

I've been searching the Graspop forums, Germans ones too, and I've found little more on the subject than is available here.  They're thinking along the lines that 'the Guns tour might have been postponed', but I didn't cross anything unknown or of interest.

I'm not saying they will perform at Graspop; on the contrary, the longer it takes the more unlikely it becomes I think (or maybe I should say 'I feel'). I guess we'll have to wait a few more days (I feel like I've said and read that quite a lot recently).

Maybe anyone has a link for me to the forums discussing this issue, just in case we're looking at different places?

I work in the festival world as volunteer and know for a fact that Guns was in speaking terms with the organisations a few months back
There where a lot of demands from both camps and it was tough to get it good rolling !!
I don't know what came out of this !

I think that the show indeed got postponed and that Graspop is having a problem to get a good third headliner
cause most bands are already taken for other shows.

I gues in the near future Graspop will switch some bands around their list and put on of them as headliner for the saturday

That's exactly what I was thinking and I hope that they are negotiating again.

Pukkelpop could be another possibility: Looks like there's no friday headliner yet and it's taking place about the same time than Reading/Leeds and quite e few bands who play Reading/leeds will be playing at Pukkelpop. And maybe Pukkelpop would be better than Graspop because Graspop is a metal festival (or at least most people consider it a metal festival) and many metal fans don't seem to like Guns N' Roses.

I hope not because day-tickets are already on sale.

Thats' what happening when they keep waiting  to start the show and also 1 of the reasons why i prefer a regular show instead of an festival show.

Are you sure or has it been confirmed that they are headlining? When you look at http://www.pukkelpop.be/en/line-up/all-names you wouldn't consider The Prodigy to be headlining the festival (Iron Maiden, Queens Of The Stone Age, Placebo on the same line). You see I'm still hoping to see Guns N' Roses playing there if they can't make it to Graspop ;)

Yeah... but when I compare the 3 days I can't tell for sure that they are the headliner on the mainstage. If they were mainstage headliner it would rather say "Iron Maiden, The Prodigy, Queens Of The Stone Age" on the other page I mentioned, no?... but instead they mention Placebo first which isn't a headliner.

... but I guess you are right that the Prodigy is headlining so let's hope that GnR will be coming to Graspop.

I don't know IF GN'R would play at Pukkelpop or not.

But, considering they are headlining over QOTSA in the UK, I think they would do the same if Pukkelpop booked them too.

As I understood, there were talks with GN'R to play the festival but for some reason the deal jumped off. Too bad. Graspop is a great festival.

It would be realy stupid from the Graspop organistation to book G N' R after what happened in 2006.

By the way. Slash is co-headliner on saturday.

gnr is a great band to book... but sometimes a band can have a bit to much demands.
