Title: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: williambailey on April 25, 2010, 11:23:29 PM There is a TV show here in Oz called The Collectors - it basically features the different things that people collect. Well I contacted them a while back on email to see if they might be interested in doing a section on my GNR collection. They got back to me saying they wanted to find out more about it including photos etc. Since I have still been a slack ass and not built my website to house it yet, I finally got around to taking some group photos of things. It's not everything (lots of double ups or things that look the same but were pressed in different countires, I didn't bother photographing), plus the shit is littered all over the house so I forget stuff is there too. But anyhow thought I would share some pics:
Edit - Hmm for some reason it seems to have cut off the right hand side of the pics when I posted them - it must not like them that big?? Yeah between a number of the big collectors that post on these sites there is probably a really good GNR museum if you put all the stuff together. There is hepas more stuff that I want to collect, but obviously it's just deciding where best to spend the $$'s. Some common stuff I have taken years to purchase simply only picking it up when the price was right. Halo they are sealed LLAS vinyls not CD's. The first one has a personal message from Alan Niven (he got rid of a number of sealed LLAS's a few years ago) and he wrote a personal message on it which was cool. The second one though I personally got Axl to sign which was awesome. Your collection is starting off fine, you already have a couple of items in there that I don't have ;) Plus it took me quite a few years before the UYI wooden box set came into my collection - yet you already have it :P I also posted the pics here - they don't seem to have been "cut off" on the right side so you can see them properly - although they are a bit smaller: http://www.gnrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?id=8262 Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: Ulises on April 26, 2010, 08:05:34 AM Speechless...

The wood box i saw it some years ago selling for 300 dollars on ebay, but i couldn't afford it. A couple of years later i finally got it thanks to Pandora's great prices and willingness to sell it. You're collection is fucking awesome though, i think even Axl will be very impressed and try to buy some of this stuff lol :hihi: Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: BumbleBuzz on May 13, 2010, 01:33:49 PM I have to congratulate you on your collection

I would love one! That Axl was a home made job somebody did out of a WWF wrestling figure, I bought it off ebay quite a few years ago. So where do you live?... ::) Must be an ECW Steven Richards from his BWO days....good to know : ok: I live in Australia. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: williambailey on May 19, 2010, 08:09:38 PM Must be an ECW Steven Richards from his BWO days....good to know : ok: I believe it is a combination of two wrestling figures. The shirt around his waist comes from this guy (see the pic in the link): http://www.gnrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?id=8262&p=2 Not sure where the body comes from because it doesn't seem to match him, so it must be another figure. There is also the Rock in Rio/MTVMA looking one too that also came up for sale on ebay around the same time. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: williambailey on May 27, 2010, 05:48:34 AM i said you need lots of vinyl : ok: (ive got a spare Suicide that needs a new home) Hmm I noticed one of the pics of a heap of vinyl was broken - fixed that now. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: kaasupoltin on May 27, 2010, 06:04:15 AM Ok I'm giving up collecting. Although I don't even have the money to buy anything anymore :hihi:
You got a nice museum dude! Where did you get the pinball machine? Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: williambailey on May 27, 2010, 07:32:17 AM Ok I'm giving up collecting. Although I don't even have the money to buy anything anymore :hihi: You got a nice museum dude! Where did you get the pinball machine? I originally imported one myself from Germany since the prices of them in Australia were ridiculous when they came up for sale. About 6 months after I did that I saw one on ebay in Australia for sale with a Buy It Now price of $2,000 AUD (which was sooo cheap). So I bought it. Turns out it was in bascially brand new condition too, so I sold me other one for $4,000. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: Halo69 on May 27, 2010, 07:35:16 AM Nice deal! I can't stop saying that that is a great collection, impossible to beat i would say
Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: williambailey on May 27, 2010, 07:54:07 AM Nice deal! I can't stop saying that that is a great collection, impossible to beat i would say You can't go past Troccoli's collection plus there is a French guy called Fred that also has a good collection: http://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://loveguns69.nipox.com/cat-6000.html&ei=M1NkS4qKOs-gkQWKrP3WBQ&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CA4Q7gEwAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dloveguns69%26hl%3Den The cool thing is we all seem to have some nice unique individual items within our collections, as do others that I have seen on the various forums. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: Halo69 on May 27, 2010, 08:05:53 AM Cool! Trocolli's collection is very nice too. I saw it already!
Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: spookeend on May 27, 2010, 10:07:02 AM the pin ball machine i had too, sold it when i moved to a larger house (sounds strange, but it was needed for kids, lol)
The main dowside on it, is that it makes so much noise when you play, even a few doors further in the block they could hear it. The plungers are so forcefull loud!!! It has a extremely fun playfield, that is why it is a popular machine with pinball fanatics aswell, therefor they are often pricy and sometimes hard to find. Among pin ball freaks it is considered the best "Band" machine there is, just because of the play and all the options. Plus the fact there is a song that was never released on any album in it, makes it a nice thing to have. The 6 ball multieball is a killer on that thing. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: Halo69 on May 27, 2010, 12:17:39 PM what song?
Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: eragon on May 27, 2010, 01:27:45 PM what song? Ain't going down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mtYzztjCXY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mtYzztjCXY) Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: spookeend on May 27, 2010, 02:49:48 PM yeah, ain't going down, either when you loose the ball, or when the ball gets saved (can be 1 one time each game, or can be re-activated with a little extra game)
Also there is a flipper game on the matrix, driving a bike with izzy, hilarious. Man, i should have made pix and movies of that thing. Will ask the one who i sold it to if if she cares for it. Title: Re: Another GNR Collection To Look At - WARNING LOTS OF LARGE PICS Post by: williambailey on May 27, 2010, 08:02:09 PM Yeah it's arguably one of the best Data East pinball machines made. Also as you said probably the best "band" pinball machine made too.
Of course the KISS pinny is very collectible and fetches ridiculous prices, but obviousyl the game play due to it's age isn't as good. I love the artwork on the kiss playfield. Then there are others like Rolling Stones, Tommy (The Who), Captain Fantastic (Elton John), Dolly, Ted Nugent. But with the exception of Tommy all of those other music pins are quite old so the game play will never compare to the GNR machine. The newest band pin was the Stern pin Elvis (if you call Elvis a band pin). I have played that quite a lot but still prefer GNR to it. The GNR pin has great game play with lots of different shots and modes, great artwork on the cabinent as well as the play field AND obviously killer sound to go with it! |
